I am enjoying how Adventist History as told in this podcast. Women are included for their significant contributions as well as non-whites. Being able to learn the twists and turns of this movement is refreshing. I especially appreciate the handling and views about people who did not do the right things. This makes it real. It is interesting how the church reacts in these situations and lessons that can be learned for today.

I have truly enjoyed this podcast as our history is not sterile and devoid of the humanness that accompanied its sharing down through the years. It truly was made up of real humans that were imperfect and in need of Gods grace just as much as we do today. Thank you for the hard work you have put into making these. I have shared it with several people who have also appreciated hearing church history presented prior to the sterilization process.

This is a wonderfully informative, thoughtful and amusing podcast on Seventh-Day Adventist history. For anyone interested in SDA or American religious history this is a must listen. 5 stars.

I learned a lot of stuff I had never heard before. I see Adventist and even Christianity from a different perspective.

Love the way you make history come alive with the injection of quick wit and humor. I was encouraged to stay on board because most of the current problems in the church have been dealt with in the past - at least in principle.

If you are Adventist you’ve got to listen to this podcast! It will humanize our church founders and provide an informed foundation that explains how we became the group we are today. All this with pop culture references and humor so dry it puts Gideon’s fleece to shame. Seriously, this podcast is the best. Can’t wait for season two!!

I am thankful that you have chosen to go forward with your research and publications. I think the time after Sister White died to present is very critical. My friend, who became my second mom when I joined the Adventist church, her husband JB, it was his mom who worked for Canright and wrote the book on Canright called “I Was Canright’s Secretary.” Heard many stories regarding her time working for him. Some older Adventist’s have such a rich history in the church. Go forth young man under God’s direction and blessings!

I am impressed at Matthew’s narrative of Adventist history - his humor makes me chuckle throughout the episodes and I am learning so much about the roots of Adventist faith. As a Seventh Day Adventist I found this to be very inspiring. To know what our founders sacrificed for the cause of God is both moving and motivating. If I had one complaint it would be that at times I wished it was done with a bit more reverence for a Holy God and His dedicated workers. I understand it was meant for people of all types and persuasions. That being said, we must not sacrifice our being a Holy and peculiar people for the sake of attracting others. The truth will always attract. All in all, very well done. Thank you.
