Meant 5 stars! Itunes sabotaged me! lol - Great topics with relatable people!
I’ve been away from the church but I’m now trying to reconnect with my Adventist beliefs and of course have a relationship with God, we need more podcasts like this, with relatable, funny people that make you feel like you’re hanging out and having a discussion amongst friends. I hope you produce content more often guys! May God bless your work!

    Importance of thoughtful conversations
Just wanted to let you guys know that you are doing an excellent job! I love how you guys conduct your interviews in such a way that allows for vulnerability and opposing opinions to be voiced freely. Your podcast is a case study on how we should come first with our fellows that don’t agree with everything we believe. A little of my story, I was raised nondenominational word of faith And was later introduced the radical idea of the gospel when I almost completely destroyed my life with addiction. I ended up following Jesus in 2014. I met my wife and she was raised SDA. We rededicated our lives to the Lord and with the help of light bears teaching and your podcast I felt like I could join the SDA church because a more gospel approach is being applied and looked at. Anyway you guys are awesome. Keep up the good work!

    Answering Adventism
I was raised 4th generation Adventist although I am not baptized. I am currently calling into question the beliefs of the Adventist church. I thoroughly enjoyed your episode with Miles and would love to hear more from people like him. You guys seem kind of wishy washy on EGW. Either you believe in her 100% or you don’t. There is no middle ground. After all her writings are all supposed to be inspired, right? Personally after reading the less popular bizarre things that she wrote, I no longer believe she was inspired.

    Funny, Yet With Depth
The hosts aren’t afraid to tackle tough and taboo topics, but always with a level of care. The honesty and openness is refreshing. Though the discussions are generally of a more serious nature, the guys are constantly lightening the mood with goofy humor.

    Wilson Interview
Not a great interview. I do appreciate that the tone was pleasant and light. The hosts were honest enough to say that they didn’t want to be “confrontational”. Unfortunately, the hosts failed to even effectively frame question or press into the substantive issues. The post discussion (without Elder Wilson) was odd.

    Sigh
Episodes are too long — can you boil it down to the 45 minute mark or less ? With so many good podcasts and content to listen to, I end up just skipping these for something shorter and more digestible.

    Asking the hard questions
I so appreciate the fact that you aren’t afraid to be honest and ask the hard questions, which many of us boomers thought about, but wouldn’t dare bring up! I was raised in a legalistic SDA culture and am finally, in my 60s, getting to know and love Jesus and His beautiful character. I love my church, and want to see and be a part of this movement as we deal with these issues instead of “sweeping them under the rug”.

    Excellent well balanced discussions
I’ve been really blessed hearing these young men discuss issues in Christianity and Adventism. Their insights are refreshing and so helpful.

    Honest dialogue at last
The kind of dialogue I always wanted to hear in Sabbath School but never had. I’ve only listened to one episode and already I’m hooked.

    A needed SDA podcast
This is such a refreshing and needed SDA podcast covering important topics. I was raised SDA and am still SDA, though I’ve become increasingly frustrated with Christianity as a whole as I’ve gotten older, due to various reasons—hypocrisy, frequent support of political leaders who claim Christianity but support hatred, the lack of love, etc. The SDA church can be frustratingly stagnant and outdated in many ways. The hosts of Seeking What They Sought have been exactly what I’ve needed in my walk with Christ. Thank you for diving into relevant issues and having conversations that need to be had.

Where were these guys when I needed them?!
So a wee bit o’ background. I was raised SDA in of all hellish places for that to happen, Utah. Conservative-ish…but not overly so. Then I entered the “party school” of WWC, and because parties were more fun than church, tossed the baby out with the bath water. I’m firmly convinced that had I found a peer group as engaging, reasonable, and articulate as these gents I would stayed at Walla Walla and in the SDA Church. So to sum up, thanks for being born too late, guys. I’ll try not to hold my lost salvation against you 😇

    Episodes are too short
There, now I’ve cancelled out that other review. I think a 90 minute goal plus or minus a dozen or so minutes is totally fine! There is a lot to unpack, and 4 or more people to discuss it, I love what you all have to say and how each host brings it all together by the end.

    My Favorite Podcast
Listen, I'm a Spotify user. I downloaded the apple podcast app specifically to leave a review. This is my favorite podcast and contrary to the review that was left about them talking too long, I'd personally prefer the episodes to be longer. The content is great, the topics are relevant, and it has helped grow my faith and soothe my growing discord that I had with the denomination I was raised in.

    Needed Conversations
I love listening to these young ministry leaders sharing their perspective on our church. Their friendship with each other and their love for our church always shines through. I find it insightful, informative, and a lot of the time pretty funny. These are needed conversations. My only criticism is that I wish there were more. Keep doing what you’re doing.

    So Glad To Find You
I just discovered you. And I don’t even remember how. But I’m glad I did. Thank you so much for starting this podcast. These are the kinds of conversations we need at church.

    Relatable, Intelligent Adventists
I hadn’t realized until listening to this podcast how starved I had been for hearing other young Adventists talk intelligently and respectfully about issues within the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. I really appreciate what y’all are doing.

I always knew they would do great things.
These guys always were leaders and questioning the status quo. Glad to see them having the tough situations.

From a mom of a mutual friend......
I appreciate the honesty and diligence these young men are seeking for answers to hard questions. Hard questions that we have failed our youth many times on. Hard questions we may never have answers for; but to talk about them and create communication is a gift that we are given with this podcast. Thank you, Jesse, Anthony, Sean and Erik. I am beyond proud of you all!

    So good!
How did I not find this earlier! So good, love to hear well thought out opinions on these topics. I literally listened to all 3 episodes straight. Good stuff!
  • Avis143
This is great stuff! Well researched
Finally Christians who aren't afraid to address controversial topics from a relatable and intelligent point of view. Also super funny.

Thank you for the Honest Conversation
The only thing keeping me from giving this a five out of five is that it could be better if more homework was done on the topic before discussing it. If we have opinions without data then they are just that...opinion with no backbone. Accurate data is what moves one from merely having an opinion to having a discusion that has the power to bring change. That being said I felt that the comments made on the issues facing our Church were balanced. Seeing the comittment to staying apart of the Church and focusing on the local mission is encouraging. You guys are doing a great work for God just by having the honest and open conversation even when you don't have all the facts. So by all means keep discusiing. Keep sharing opinions and keep encouraging people to serve at the local level with Jesus in their hearts. I am proud to be a colleague of all of you. Even if you all are out of compliance. I love you all and know you are true servants of Jesus. That is all that matters. Oh no wait am I out of compliance if I love and support you even though you are out of compliance...oh no...the Bible says to love you but this document seems to suggest to love you and associate with you only if you are in comliance...boy this is confusing follow Jesus or follow a document...hmmmmm

    A solid start!
These guys are great! I really enjoy the thought provoking discussion about topics that are relevant to the SDA church today. I’m excited to see what topics will come up in the future!
