UttzeyLove this podcast! The first episode I listened to was about the Taino. It’s a topic that’s especially important to me as I lived in Puerto Rico for a couple of years. I absolutely loved hearing (and learning) more about the culture of an island that is forever inside my heart.

Nicc878Beautifully told, fantastic researchI would’ve thought all these cultures were completely lost to time. It’s remarkable to hear from the peoples themselves!

Francesca St. JamesNo white washing hereI’ve listened to other “history and culture” podcasts but they are often told from the usual white/colonial perspective; this podcast is different! The sources of information are told by the descendants of each culture with amazing detail! I gave this a 5 star rating because I would not have easily found such a rich trove of information, I feel as if I have found a fresh spring of water in a bone dry desert. Thank you so much for the outstanding work put into this podcast, I can feel the love!

chinolatino1985FascinatingI have really enjoyed listening to this show! It’s an easy podcast to listen to. The episodes are not too long. However, I consistently find myself learning so much as I listen.

JenncheckerWonderful!I am absolutely thrilled to have discovered this podcast. I enjoy hearing about the different perspectives and learning so much more about people who are so often overlooked. I was overjoyed to be able to learn about the native people of my hometown of Los Angeles and I hope more voices of native communities will be heard. The podcast uses a good blend of personal stories and facts.

elizabethoveyWonderful. Before there is no one left to tell you about it, Occitane - Alpine, stretching from Italy to Spain according to my Valle Maira hosts.

GoodMewDo a deep dive on Greece! The Greeks are a plethora of small local cultures, many of which have changed countless times, but many of which also have the worlds strongest ties to their ancient past. I would love to hear a multi-part series exploring various cultures around Greece and it’s lesser-known forestal and island cultures.

Anita - RProduction question - music bedWhat is the purpose of the so-called music behind the spoken word? Do you really need it? Do I as the listener really need it? Why does nearly every podcast producer now put some kind of "noise" in the track as a nearly continuous background element?
