Deb_P.Peanuts RevisitedI have certainly learned a lot of new things about Peanuts and Charles Schulz listening to this podcast, as well as the time periods in which Charles Schulz was drawing the strip. The hosts have an enthusiasm for Schulz’s work that shows through in every episode, and they have a lot of fun examining Peanuts year by year, making this a very enjoyable podcast. They cover Schulz’s drawing techniques, what he was doing in a given year, where pop culture was at that same time, and give a running index of Happiness and Anger in the strip for each given year. They also explain Peanuts Obscurities, those references Schulz made that were timely when he wrote them, but can be head-scratchers now. You won’t find a better Peanuts podcast out there than this one. So “Be of good cheer” and give this show a listen if you want to learn a lot about Peanuts.

Andydrewlouie1The bestBest podcast out there! I love listening to an episode while drawing my own comic strip. Love it and I don’t want it to end! Keep up the good work!!! 🙏

Beagle Scout wannabeWhat a fantastic podcastIt was a very good day when I happened upon this podcast! It’s an absolute gem. I was a total Peanuts nerd growing up, and am now really enjoying reliving the strips through this podcast. You all have such an easy going rapport, too. Listening to you makes my boring work commute go by in a flash now. Happiness is Unpacking Peanuts. P.S. Andy Capp was one of my Dad’s favorite strips, but it never worked for me.

Gus the Donut ManBe of good cheer..This podcast is nearly as delightful and engaging as the incredible comic strip they unpack!

Rockhopper LadPeanuts Nerd-vanaI am a huge Peanuts fan. Going to the Schulz Museum last year was almost a pilgrimage. It is amazing to hear people talking about Charlie Brown and his friends with the same excitement I have for them. I’m a writer, so I always approach Peanuts from character development and dialogue. Hearing three cartoonists discuss the strip adds their perspective as artists. Of course, I knew what a talented artist Schulz was, but I have learned so much from listening to them.

Stephanie MackFantastic In Depth Discussions of Peanuts Strips and More!I’ve been obsessed with Peanuts for over 60 years and this podcast is an incredible recent find. Listening to these professional cartoonists evaluate these strips with such insight and love is like manna falling from the sky. I’m now devouring every episode and can’t wait for more. Having the entire run of the strip in Fantagraphics volumes and now access to these podcasts couldn’t make me happier. Huge thanks to the creators of these wonderful episodes!

ExcuseMyJuicyBelchesReminds me why I love “Peanuts” so muchThe first thing I read when I learned to read was a Peanuts collection. Charlie Brown has always helped me through the tough times in life. This podcast reminds me why I enjoy it so much and why it spoke to me and so many people on a personal level.

SheldonsaysHappiness is “Unpacking Peanuts”!I have this podcast on most nights when I do my stretches, and it makes me look forward to doing stretches! Which, if you haven’t experienced the endless monotony of doing a bunch of stretches, says a lot. These episodes are fantastic, and they really dive deep into the comics they analyze. With Jimmy’s leadership and narration, Michael’s strong opinions and music, and Harold’s intellect and historical insight, this podcast is a joy to take in whenever there’s a new release. The funny segments including Peanuts Obscurities, Most Valuable Peanut, and of course, The Shermometer, are all great. And I very much appreciate how they delve into the art of cartooning amongst the analysis, something you won’t find on a non-cartoonist-driven podcast. Give it a listen and be of good cheer!
