This podcast is so entertaining and absolutely, literally will make you laugh out loud hilarious. The hosts Jo and Manolo (both comedians, writers, and wonderful human beings who want to make you laugh!) engage with call-in players from the fanbase of listeners! Everyone can apply to be a guest on the Podcast, and anyone can submit a game for play. Typically there are 3 games played by two callers each, and callers win a custom magnet when they successfully play the game with the hosts! The games and dialogue are all family friendly and open for interactive play with those around you when playing! Even pets might appear. I strongly recommend listening to an episode and maybe listen to another, then make up games on your own and submit them. You never know who you’ll end up calling “Meatball”!

I frequently find myself with a backlog of episodes, because I tend to listen on my morning bus ride, and I have to pause to keep from laughing too obnoxiously in public. Once I was listening in my office with laughter-tears streaming down my face, and I had to shut my door so no one got concerned for my well-being. Suffice it to say that this show is always a great time. Jo and Manolo are both delightful. Perfectly paired hosts. I would recommend this podcast to anyone who likes fun, games, and genuine joy.

I like comedy podcasts but don’t laugh out loud to much of it except for this show, the humor just catches me off guard lol. Lost it today at Orin’s bit in the Bigfoot game in episode 54. Such a chaotic show that’s always entertaining and wholesome.

Listening is joyful and fun. I like all of the games people create and love to hear all of the participants play. Jo and Manolo’s conversations are lovely too.

I have listened for a couple years but episode 124 was absolute fun!! So chaotic! LOL.

I am Gen X and probably older than most participants and listeners to this podcast. But it is so fun and funny that I recommend it for any age. I love the dynamics between Jo and Manolo and look forward to it every week!

Manono is a dumb guy that sabotages a good podcast. Every week seems like he has no interest in making it fun to listen to. He should do the honorable thing and quit so I don’t have to fire him. What a piece of nonsense he is. Whenever I give in and try to listen he does it again. He’s like someone that wants to not have a job on a podcast so why not ruin it for everyone. If I were Jo, I’d write a murder mystery where he kills everyone’s good time.

If Droopy Dawg improvised boring, unfunny songs on a ukulele while other people try to put together a good show sounds like a good use of your time, you are in luck!

I’ve been hearing ads for this one for years and finally gave it a shot. It took a while to build up to making me laugh, but so did MBMBAM. Jo is an absolute firecracker. I want to punch everyone (including Manolo) for all the sabotage, but the sad fact is that Jo is as funny as Basil Fawlty when they’re losing their minds, without the vicarious anxiety and embarrassment. Anyone who can make an abrupt “Goodbye” funny and not rude, and also make “No, thank you,” “No, you thank you,” “No, you have a nice day” all come off like the most visceral middle finger *on a podcast* deserves a lot more credit. Manolo is possibly human weed. I’m not sure what’s happening there. He’s as much a trigger as a teddy bear for Jo. I am less than 40 episodes in, but I am looking forward to the return of the theme song and Jo humming along. I’m very glad Jesse Thorn gave this show a home, and I hope they’re able to do guests again someday. There have been some great moments when you hear people physically break as everything falls apart. Jo, you’re the best.

My kid said it was so boring that it gave him a growing pain. He would also like to toss in his vote for the “boring treasure map option”. The 5 stars come from the adults, who are maybe closer to your target audience.

I found this when I heard Jo on Go Fact Yourself. It never disappoints. I laugh out loud every time. I’ve stopped describing it to my daughter, though, because she’s threatening “the home” again.

dr gameshow has been my favorite podcast for that past six years! I love Jo and Manolo’s dynamic and it’s a great show for long car rides! I often pause to play the games with my partner. Come for the games stay for the sabotage!

This show is honestly the best pod in the world. Jo and Manolo make the best duo. This is the perfect show for exercising, car rides and work.

I don’t know what the choices were behind Manolo’s warped voice filter but that authentically ruins the entire episode. No one wants to listen to an hour of that. Jo is amazing. Manolo remains an awful cohost who is not supporting Jo and regularly makes the show unpleasant to listen to and share. I remain for Jo.

The purest distillation of podcast essence. Jo masterfully rides the line between chuckle-worthy absurdity and pure mind-boggling chaos while Manolo provides the perfect counterbalance to her efforts. Meanwhile, the callers know the score and are down to get dirty. If you haven’t listened to this podcast then be warned that what you are about to witness will leave you changed forever. I discovered this show recently and I’ve been listening to every episode from the beginning. It’s funny, wholesome, and it never fails to make me smile. Jo and Manolo are hilarious together, and I enjoy the way they engage with their guests. This is one of my favorite podcasts!

Manolo and Jo and freaking hilarious. Great chemistry and comedic timing. Just started listening and already binging it. I haven’t laughed this hard in ages. Wish I had discovered it sooner!!!

Pure joy can be found in every chaotic episode. Love this show so much. It’s brought me and many others happiness and laughs during some pretty rough times. We’d all be better off having this show for a very long time.

Dr Gameshow features the very funny Jo Firestone, trying her best to herd the group of cats that is her very funny co-host and episode guests, many of whom are actively working to undermine the concept of the entire show. It’s family friendly and unique among podcasts!

This show is sweet and hilarious and Jo and Manolo have a delightful and funny dynamic that warms my cold dead heart.

It’s really just nice. It’s silly and wholesome. Jo & Manolo are delightful and the listeners who participate are tolerable.

I’m so glad I found this podcast. It’s become one of my go-tos when I need a pick me up or just a good laugh. Jo and Manolo have amazing chemistry and really make the show what it is. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love this podcast. Nothing is as reliably funny to me in a way that makes me actually laugh out loud. I can’t imagine what people in the cars next to me at stoplights thing. I seem absolutely ridiculous. Totally worth it. This podcasts is like all of the good stuff wrapped up and shoved in your ears.

Wow, As the puzzle master for a prestigious newspaper, I have a lot of time to to listen to podcasts while creating the Monday, Sunday and oof ..Thursday puzzles. I had thought that in my years I had figured out a routine that worked. Wake up, hardboiled egg, rye toast, a 170 degree shower, and then 14 hours of puzzle writing. But, that’s before Jesse Thorn threw the maximum fun block party, and I discovered “Dr. Gameshow.” Oh the wasted years (at least two?) words cannot express the joy I have found. Definitely not a four letters meaning “artificial” #Drnewlistener

Few things are as earnest, joyous, and hectic as a good Dr Gameshow sode. While I like the quarantine eps the most, I think starting with older guest eps is a good entrance point. Both Alden Ford and John Hoffman’s sodes are wonderful exemplars of Jo’s timid confusion in loving her callers and Manolo’s general happy, baritone calm. Family friendly. All around friendly.
