Living is overratedDon’t Waste Your Time. There’s already a few hundred thousand boring podcasts featuring liberal hosts; does the world really need another? This is a boring show all-around and the hosts are chronically unfunny.
-
Ollanius PiusGreat podcastGreat podcast especially if you enjoy narrative games over competitive
-
iclemontGreat narrative podcastSee the title. Very approachable and great chemistry between the hosts.
-
AloyalistdeathguardplayerGreat narrative focusAs a fan of the narrative behind Warhammer, I love listening to this podcast. Always a must listen when new episodes are released.
-
Azrael OkieGreat Narrative PodcastWith all the focus on competitive 40k it is nice to listen to a podcast that focuses on the narrative aspect and having fun with other casual players.
-
FrtgvcdGreat lore podcastI’ve tried a number of 40k podcasts and MotF is the only one I’ve stuck with and consistently come back to. The hosts are great. Content-wise, I listen exclusively for the lore and Kill Team stuff (I don’t play full scale 40k). Some time stamps in the show notes would be great, like when it’s hobby talk, lore stuff, and on-the-table rules section. Keep up the great work, you guys are awesome!!

Tyler JPMOne of the best narrative podcastsThis is one of the best narrative Warhammer podcasts out there. The thing that makes them great is that they don't simply read 40k wiki articles out loud, they put work into coming up with ways the lore can be reflected on the tabletop.

Mr_SupotcoNarrative Gaming GoodnessAdam and Jason do tons of great work on this podcast, always giving great advice and overviews of the lore, and supporting most of them with awesome home brewed rules to go with them! Definitely give them a listen, it’s well worth it, and you’ll be hooked, especially if you enjoy the narrative side of the game

TalariusMotF: Warhammer HeroesAdam & Jason (and the past co-hosts) have devoted countless hours to bringing a treasure-trove of narrative creativity to the Warhammer 40,000 hobby. This isn't mindless banter by a bunch of knuckleheads; these gentlemen are demonstrating how 40K is meant to be played. I can't recommend it enough. They've shown time and time again that you get out of the hobby what you put into it. Don't play math-hammer, play the epic story of the 40K universe! MotF are consistently Doing It Right and are the winningest Heroes of the Warhammer community, imho, no contest. Dive in and enjoy! ;-)

EvilGenius9Fun dudesGreat cast for narrative dudes looking for dudes!

GarryOwenBrainMy favorite 40K podcastBattle reports and talk about competitive 40K are all OK, but Masters of the Forge feeds my imagination. I’ve gotten so many ideas for narrative play and learned so much about lore I didn’t know that I always look forward to each episode.
-
Gangrel767Great Podcast!Masters of the Forge is a great Podcast! They cover more of the narrative side of Warhammer 40K, which is a great balance to the competitive podcasts out there. Adam and Jason do a winderful job not only breaking down the narrative material for us listeners, but also giving us some great ideas and inspriation to bring your narrative hobby to the table top. Great show! Great Attitudes! Great stuff! You guys Rock!
-
army310 TroyYa they push their political believesThe show was awesome when big Jim was on it but now it is a mix of political stuff and 40k
-
Jon Lee PettimoreDon’t waste your time. The hosts have trouble holding coherent conversations. Their subject matter amounts to least effort required. And they do a grand disservice to any narrative effort in the hobby. Don’t waste your time.

Machismo 0311ObligatoryLovely review

PlainshowQuality 40k ShowMotF is easy to listen to with both good discussion and high audio quality. In depth discussion of the fluff and crunch, with plenty of humor to boot. I love the new Altar of War battles. They are short form battle reports that give are just the right balance of tactics and analysis. No garbage mics either! Some other podcasts are plagued with terrible sound problems, not these guys.
-
TxBobcat86Bringing the Noise (Marines)Really good content with a good mix of hobby discussion, WH40K lore, and up to date information on GW new releases. Adam and Jason have good chemistry together and always produce some laughs. I highly recommend this podcast to those looking for something to quench their 40k thirst.
-
Peterman5000New to the gameStarting out in 40k. I've been somewhat familiar with the lore for years but never played the actual game. These guys go into depth in both those aspects and I enjoy what I learn from listening to them. Awesome show!
-
NineheartsaxelPlease stop saying "like" so much, Adam. You're not a 13 year old girl with a crush on me.
-
SkallagooseGreat show about warhammerLove this show! Listen on my drives. Funny and great on fluff
-
capnpeteySo much funThe hosts know how to put together both a fun game and a fun podcast. It really feels like a weekly hangout with friends.
-
Amory BurgessA Great Resource for Narrative GamingMoFos are a great resource for both content and methodologies for integrating storytelling into games of Warhammer 40,000. Some of the fan fiction content is so good, I can't tell it apart from the GW cannon. Great job guys!
-
Odd3rRedefining the HobbyThis podcast brings the world of 40k to life. The hosts helped me redefine the hobby - it isn't about building the most competitive lists, but simply about what you have fun doing. "Play the game you want to play!"Keep it up guys! Appreciate all your hard work!
-
SladeJrGreat showI really enjoy the show guys I love all the PDFs and am a huge fan of the kill team and combat patrol style games it's a great way to get some awesome thematic gaming in even when we don't have much time. Keep up the good work
-
JHoltMusicFun, Narrative-based PodcastThis is a great podcast that focuses on the narrative side of the 40k universe. The hosts examine the lesser-known histories of 40k and create missions, campaigns, and other home brew rules for the majority of the episodes. The hosts have good chemistry and sound like they enjoy the show topics as well as the game and history of 40k. I cannot recommend this podcast enough!
-
PagumbFun Narrative 40K PodcastMasters of the Forge is an excellent podcast that explores the weird and wonderful nooks and crannies of the 40K universe. The hosts genuinely enjoy each others company and they do an excellent job of encouraging listeners to explore the vast fluff behind the 40K game by helping to bring that information to the tabletop through homebrew rules for units, missions and ideas on modeling. There are often pdf downloads to accompany episodes to help listeners bring back a favorite unit cycled out of the latest edition of their armies codex or maybe try their hand at recreating pivotal battles from a Black Library novel. Looking forward to many more episodes in the future.
-
Mark @ NGCGreat flow, great pace.I've listened to a good number of these now while at work and I find their custom rules and scenarios right-up-my-alley. Well done, gents. Keep up the good work and the positive attitude! A fun listen.
-
No more self promotionMy second favorite hobby podcastI say second favorite only to show respect for the independent Characters. Love the fluff and home brew rules. Great chemistry between the hosts!
-
GoraimGreat Fluff GuysI loved the narrative battle report. That was fantastic stuff. I just started back to the game and have been playing 500 pt forces with my frinds. I think I am going to start something like this for my small force of Salamanders!
-
ShgbedGreat showWas a great podcast.
-
warbossmattSo happy this exists...With all of the podcasts that talk about the competitive aspect of 40k it’s so nice to have an option that discusses narrative gaming, fluff and how to just enjoy the hobby. It’s especially fitting for my gaming group where we are always looking for ways to inject new ideas into the game and have fun. Awesome job guys!!!

Brother Demetrius (IC Forums)Approved Imperial SanctionedOne of my 40k podcasts that I listen to on a regular basis, I must say that it is an enjoyment to listen to. These guys are very much focused on bringing more fluff to the table top game as well as helping others expand their fluff for their armies. They bring forth w lot of information and sources to the table when they discuss their topics. While yes, their show appears to be more of a "sit down after the game" sort of discussion, this is just their way of doing things. They are very careful with their language (not that I have a problem with foul mouths as a former infantryman) and try to bring their own ideas forward and show what they love about the hobby. Keep up the good work gentleman.
-
JonbarmoreGreat show!Really fun to listen to. They always have great ideas for keeping the fun in 40k. It's great to hear Snorre back on a podcast.
-
Skippicus MaximusFantasticOne of the best podcasts out there with Warhammer 40,000. Making special rules and missions based on the Black Library books is something that to my knowledge no other group has really done just yet- and this podcast does a fantastic job with it. The show is fantastic and they put out amazing content with every single episode. Give them a listen and you will not be dissapointed!
-
HughtjfyHammerHandOk podcast. Could be so much better. It's mostly 2 guys talking about nothing at all. Jokes are really bad and there seems to be no preparation for the show. They go off on tangents and can't seem to stay on track. I wish I could enjoy it but they just have to much to improve on.
-
HipNFlyFluff + MechanicsIt’s a great introduction to lots of fluff I did not know about, and the podcasters develop very clever mechanics to simulate that fluff on the table top. Plus, they are clearly nerdy dorks (or dorky nerds?) who don’t take themselves or the game too seriously.

Brakenbury123The lighter side of 40k.The masters of the forge bring an interesting prospective to the 40k community. The 3 hosts live in 3 different countries and give 3 unique prospectives on the hobby we love. The emphasis on 40k lore and narrative games is a nice change of pace. I like seeing the different narrative elements they come up with for games. The podcast also feels a bit like a book club and does a good job developing games and scenarios around various Black Library novels.
-
Corsair JoeAwesome!!!I just started listening to Masters of the Forge, and it is great. Perfect mix of hobby and fluff talk. Keep up the good work!
-
christopher burchlike a breath of fresh airyou guys are getting a 5 star from me on i tunes i heard about you guys from the independent characters, then i proceeded to download them all and i'm on episode 6 and love them. Cropped up some new ideas for tournament missions and apoc missions. Got tired of many podcast just going on bout mega list and the tournament scene.

The 40k HobbiestFavorite 40k PodcastThis is, hands down, my favorite podcast. This is the only podcast where I actually care about what the hosts did that week. I love when they give me new ways to play the game! Oh, did you like the book Death of Antagonis? Well now you can play it! Every episode, they're giving me new ways to play the game and new ways to use my models. They're the only podcast who truely cares about the lore as much as I do and I'm always excited to hear a new episode get released!
-
Linahan82Solid start with a unique spinThe content of Masters extends beyond the podcast and into your hobby space as the hosts give you actual creative, playable gaming material. If you want an interactive 40K hobby experience with the larger international gaming community, this podcast is for you. Sure there is the usual talk about personal hobby and gaming (and IMO they are all strong hobbyists), but then you get something different: an invitation to be more than just a passive listener. Each episode has gotten better and I expect the polish to increase as they find their sweet spot. Keep up the good work.
-
David___DGood stuffA great new podcast. It's always good to have alternatives to the competitive driven podcasts that are prevalent. The missions and units they create are legit and I'm always waiting for the next episode. Keep it up guys!
-
New IT GuyFor fluff bunnies and semi-competitive playersI really enjoy this for for its creative content the hosts are putting out. Everyone I listen to an episode, I feel like I'm getting a supplement to a codex that is also relatively balanced. Even the mission they put out are fun and add a new dynamic to the game we already love. Keep up the amazing work and I look forward to the next episode.
-
LucifigNot much to distinguish itself from most other 40K podcastsNominally it is supposed to be about the background, but it seems similar to most other podcast out there. What games did you play? What hobby did you do? Also, the quality is only mediocre, as is the case for most Skype dependent shows. The hosts are interesting and do have some good insight, so hopefully they'll find and settle into their niche sooner rather than later.

Lord Deathscythe was hereAwesomesauceAdam 40k virgin.... pffft i call B.S, Adam needs more Dakka still
-
JD_JessGreat first episode!Refreshing new podcast that provides a wealth of ideas for narrative style games while balancing playable army lists. Looking forward to many more episodes!
