The VERY BEST combination of entertainment and intellectual film discussion in one show. Truly extraordinary and delightful. These guys are easily the best cult film podcasters in the whole world.

Each episode, even if it is a movie I don't have an interest in, is entertaining. I have picked up several movies based on nothing more than the ramblings of these two guys (Born to fight for example). When the show starts to cover a time period (like Summer of 84) or a director (BTS most recently) the show usually comes up with movies that are interesting and sometimes off the beaten path and are worth the time to watch.

Sometimes I cringe at the pretension and elitist bullstuff, but they’re funny and knowledge and I can overlook that. What I can’t overlook is the claim of being a lieutenant in Megaforce. You can’t be a lieutenant in Megaforce because there is no rank in Megaforce, except for the Commander. -1 star for stolen Megaforce valor.

Every time I think he won’t go off on some hyped up tangent, he does. Relax dude. People weren’t expecting our government to protect them at every return in the 80s. We made everything safer for you now. Ex. lawn darts. He’s really hard to listen to sometimes..

During this week’s Double Stuff episode on Blood of Heroes, Brian once again proves he has a singing voice as resplendent as the gossamer wings of the arch angel Jophiel himself. Why this man doesn’t sing in every Junkfood Cinema episode is a complete mystery to me.

Just wanted to say that it’s not Jamie Lee Curtis who does the voice over . I meet the woman who did it . It was a long time ago can’t remember her name

I’m confident in saying that Junk Food Cinema is far and away my favorite movie centric podcast, and one of my favorite comedic shows as well. It takes a little while to catch up and understand some of the long-running gags, but once you’re in, there’s nothing better. I live for a good side-bar! Great chemistry between hosts Brian and Cargill, and their knowledge about film is simply unmatched.

Hearing how “offended” you guys are by movies gets a little old. I can only imagine you both never attend a stand-up comedy show; as offended as you get with nothing. Sidebar: But you have absolutely no problems whatsoever with stereotyping other groups. Maybe the people who wrote the movies you’re offended by had the same feeling of moral superiority that you guys have(looking at you bri guy). It’s pretty messed up how you guys depict anyone that lives in the midwest/rural America, as dumb rednecks and any other insults you can think of. Your place of moral superiority is where most ignorance and intolerance stem from. I live in rural America and most people I have met, are nothing but nice as can be. Not the hollywood stereotype; just a fyi guys.

I found the podcast because I was looking for some commentary on the Thin Man movies. Now I'm listening to the Fast Saga and picking through the rest. I love the podcast. Don't love Cargill's use of the r-word more than once in the handful of eps that I've listened to though.

Too much political talk-I’ll look elsewhere

I Previously submitted an extremely eloquent and moving review, extolling the virtues (?) of Brian and Cargill, including the positive influence they’ve had on my recovery from the covid doldrums. With the power of their delightfully insightful snapper banter i have been able to drop a full pants size. So i am attempting once again to extend my deep gratitude to b&c, and in the most sincere tones I am capable of encourage all to listen and join in. chuck

Iceberg lettuce is delicious. If you haven’t had it before you are seriously missing out. Also love the podcast.

Too many podcasts about cinema take delight in sneering at their subject matter, but Brian and Cargill bring an unabashed positivity and joy to their discussions of movies that would be a joy to listen to even if they weren’t also funny guys with a wealth of great stories about the film scene. They’re always the first thing I listen to when I have a new episode, and I’m glad they’ve kept it going all these years!

I love this podcast so much that I literally will pause the show and say my piece about what they’re talking about or a specific scene in the movie or whatever and then unpause it to hear the other persons. I feel like I’m there sometimes listening to that show. Like I so want to be a guest on that show because I love movies especially horror movies but movies are my escape from this crappy world we’re living in. So if you ever need a guest feel free to hit me up

Love this podcast, especially because of their genuine approach to it. It’s so refreshing to listen to a podcast that isn’t drenched in irony whose sole purpose is to take down “bad” media. These guys are talking about stuff they love, and chances are you’re gonna love it too. And if not, that’s fine too! There’s still great conversation and topics here.

I like your podcast but every once in a while you feel the need to announce that you are liberal and too YOU conservatives are evil,, you couldn’t be more wrong but enough of that. The information and detail you provide are awesome, and I love the behind the scenes and inside info you provide.. keep up the great work…… love the side bar stuff

Extremely entertaining insightful and funnyI have found so many movies that that I have never seen before because of this podcast keep up the great work Bryan and Cargill If you love the show I would strongly consider becoming a patron because it really is worth it great job guys I look forward to more great episodes in the future and discovering movies I’ve never seen before with her be on the movie you’re talking about or about something else I always learn something new.

Tries (and fails) really hard.

Im into movie review podcasts and came across this one and thought I would give it a shot. Decent pod. Won’t be listening any more though after this MOVIE podcast tries to show horn in their POLITICAL ViEWS. Plus, I don’t support things that support domestic terrorists that burn and loot cities in the name of “justice”

How critics handle Inception is my touchstone for judging how perceptive they are. Cargill’s supercharged effusive adoration for Nolan’s beautiful nonsense was embarrassing. But as P.T. Barnum said “There’s a sucker born ...”

I can’t stand Cargill. He needs to go to another planet where pretentious, stuck up, smug D bags like him live and irritate each other to death. You are a horrible person. You are better than NOBODY. Brian is a great host though. Dump the snob and get a fun co-host.

gremlins 2 is also a movie.

The guy is not funny at all and he thinks he’s a riot. He also thinks reading imdb makes him some kind of movie master, but still gets things wrong constantly.

Great show and great chemistry

The show was and is relatively good. I finally unsubscribed after listening to them virtue signal their support for groups that seem to burn down and loot cities. I just want to hear witty talk about B movies. I don’t need to hear about their politics.

So thankful to find this podcast when most podcast come off pretentious and assembly line in there material or to silly for my taste this is a godsend and I have to say so thankful to have found Cargill as I haven’t listened to him since spill.com days. Where else can I find guys who love Shane black and tony Scott. Thanks for the podcast guys keep it up. sidebar: Cargill where is your Kingdom of Heaven(directors cut) review. I know u spoke about the fill and blessed it so well it’s on my favorite sword and Sandals epics because you. No biggie but would be nice to hear your retrospective thoughts on it and how it’s still very relevant today.

Out of all the movie nerd podcasts I listen to this is my favorite. These guys are truly passionate and are usually incredibly positive about whatever film or actor they’re discussing. And don’t worry if you haven’t seen the movie they’re talking about- they will make it fascinating. But beware- listening to them is going to make you want to buy and watch whatever the week’s subject is immediately. Thanks to them I now have copies of “Lifeforce,” “Rolling Thunder,” “My Bloody Valentine” and “Event Horizon” on my shelf. My one BIG COMPLAINT is that they use the Lord's name in vain. ALL THE TIME. Guys, stop saying the G-D so much. And the J-C. Get a little creative, please. It's driving me nuts.

If you love movies, truly love then you can’t do better than JFC. The community, Patreon and show builds a wonderful community that makes Being a movie fan so much more rewarding.

Brian and Cargill are funny, witty, extremely knowledgeable, and have a deep, abiding love for movies that shines through in everything they talk about. I love that they do in-depth reviews of both classic films and overlooked gems but some of my favorite stuff on the show is when they go off on hilarious tangents on an unrelated topic that comes up naturally during their conversation on the film at hand. I love that they embrace these sidebars instead of trying to avoid them like most other shows. It gives it this endearing hang out vibe that I find immensely enjoyable. If you love hanging out with friends and discussing genre film, then JFC is a must!

Great 3 show review and appreciation for Last Action Hero! I saw this as a 16 year old Arnold fan and immediately understood and appreciated the whole thing. It’s one of my top 5 favorites movies. My question: Why do you think the term “last” was used in the title?

Junkfood Cinema is hilariously funny and Cargill and Brian really know their stuff when it comes to movies. Ive listened to the entire catalogue of episodes and haven’t heard an ep I didn’t thoroughly enjoy yet. There’s multiple episodes Ive listened to multiple times, revisiting them years later when I was out of new podcasts to listen to and relistens are even better because Id pick up on something I missed the first time I heard an ap. If you love movies and you love laughing Junkfood Cinema is a must listen!

Every episode is entertaining. Any episode covering a movie you love will remind you of what you love about it. You're also likely to learn a few new things & hear an amusing story or three. The episodes covering movies I haven't seen yet (roughy %15 at this point) make a strong case for why you should. JFC has NEVER steered me wrong! From the 80's Sean Connery Sci-Fi flick "Outland", to the wildly entertaining "Truck Turner" starring Isaac Hayes, to the charming & heart warming "Sing Street" (which instantly jumped into top 3 band movies ever, along side "Spinal Tap" & "That Thing You Do"). Brian & Cargill have a chemistry & rapport that make it feel like you're having a conversation with old friends (or at least overhearing 2 old friends talk in the other room while you cook dinner). This podcast literally makes me happier when I listen to it. They celebrate what they love with childlike enthusiasm & impressive depth of knowledge. Even the episode where they cover a movie that one of them does NOT like (an exception to their M.O.) is a hilarious contrast to their usual fare. Five Stargroves!

Junk Food Cinema has become one of my weekly fix go-to podcasts. The recent three part episode on “Last Action Hero” was a thing of beauty and a labor of love!

Very interesting podcast, but leave out your current political opinions when you are talking about fun movies! I listen to podcasts to escape from politics, I definitely don’t want it here!

For me it all started with “The Movie Crypt” and Junk Food Cinema is kind of like the The Movie Crypt’s hot cousin who visits for the summer and hangs out at the pool a lot and doesn’t know that in school you are really a nerd.

They confidently make incorrect statements every other episode. I keep giving them another chance, but I keep getting hurt. And now I’m giving up on them yet again

This show is great. Brian and Cargill are great hosts and have so much knowledge on the movies they cover. It’s like sitting with 2 friends and just talking about our favorite movies. A definite must listen if you’re a movie buff.

I love movies and getting lost in the backlog of this podcast is far too easy. It’s quickly becoming my favorite podcast because, unlike other podcasts, they don’t get too snobby and they truly love what they cover, not destroy films like other podcasts. Cargill and Brian are two guys you want to watch movies with while drinking scotch.

I listen to this almost every day. Have been listening to their back catalog like crazy, as well as Write Along, Cargill’s other podcast.

I love these guys

This is my favorite pod and I have given a tidy sum on patreon over the years. Cargill is brilliant and the grand master of all things genre. Brian is a rock solid film sage with a couple rough edges. I would love to hear less puns or no puns, no sports and wrestling and the custom sound clips are tiresome “ side bar side bar side bar” and “Stargrove” reminds me who gets all that patreon dough I need to adjust that...despite these constructive criticisms it remains the finest genre film pod there ever was.

Entertaining movie podcast. Have to ding it a point because when the discussion turns political the podcast nosedives. The SJW nonsense can be nauseating. If you can stomach it, though, it’s a fun listen overall.

So, I stumbled upon this nonsense by accident and now can’t live without it.

Do you know that meme that say Men telling a story, and shows straight railroad tracks, and then shows a jumbled up rail yard and says Women telling a story?? This is the latter. It’s like the “before” part of a commercial for ADHD.

Honestly, Junkfood Cinema is one of the most ideal podcasts for anyone who loves movies. Cargill and Brian Know exactly what they’re talking about and all of their recommendations are worth watching. Give this a listen, guys!
