    Voting in Pennsylvania
Yea, I turned you off as I was actually voting but you walked me there and home. (One one person in line in front of me) Now to listen to more bugle episodes and drink heavily for a few weeks …. Until someone is determined to be the winner or civil war. Thanks for everything!

    Taskmaster is a terrible show.
Love The Bugle and hate the show Taskmaster. Wish you the best of luck Andy but cannot support that television pollution. Please ask John Oliver for some work if you need some money.

    Dear the bugle
I miss the American, the cryptic crossword (I was the one who wrote in about an error in it, which Andy felt was harsh, sorry), hotties from history, and especially amazing listener submitted emails and remixes and musical compositions. What talent from the listenership! Will Indy’s “Am Kaftan Flapper” will always ring in my head along with John Oliver’s “It’s like a Lewis Carroll nonsense poem.” Chavez and Berlusconi gave the Bugle so much hogwash fodder. I actually learned about the world and current events in my twenties through your podcast because you fed it in s way that was memorable, engaging, and silly. It hit the spot. Keep it up.

    Best show ever!
Love the satire and wordplay. Andy is a GENIUS!
  • mikeyvama
    It’s better than uncontrolled weeping…
The British comedian/commentator Andy Zaltzman and his guests discuss current events in Andy’s shed. Ok, usually the guests aren’t actually in the shed with him, but the show does have the feel of a casual conversation one might have over a beer with friends, provided those friends are incredibly witty and well-informed. Following current events can leave one with the crippling sense that the world is incomprehensible, chaotic, barbaric, place. Shows like this will not dispel that sense, but they show you the humorous side and make you laugh. That sure beats the alternative!

    Thanks!

    Andy is the best!
Usually a fun UK perspective on current events. Unfortunately Andy’s guests sometimes just espouse Progressive bigotry, negativity and meanness. But Andy avoids piling on and can find humor in nearly all situations. At a minimum, you’ll hear the best (and worst) wordplay of any podcast.
  • Uncle angrybags
    Beyond brilliant!
THE best satire in the US, the UK, Australia, and most other places. Loved it back in the John Oliver days, love it just as much now.

The only podcast I contribute to
This show is my lifeblood for understanding the world's incredibly dreary happenings. I was sad when John Oliver had to stop being on it but Andy has done an amazing job with rotating comics. It has also exposed me to so many new comics that I now seek out their comedy: Alice Fraser, Nish Kumar, James Nokise, Nato Green, Anubhav Pal, Tiff Stevens, Hari Kondobolu (already knew him though), Josh Gondleman and soooo may more lik his very own Sister, Helen Z (who has amazing shows too). I love it so much that I have been contributing monthly since 2019.

    Alice and Nish
As an elderly and pale skinned American woman l have to admit I have a Nana crush on Alice and Nish. I want them to be my children and come visit me all the time.

    The Great Zaltzman
Love this show! The international point of view with comedians from around the world makes this an international delight. So fun to hear jokes about topics from around the world.

    Years of Fantastic
Been listening since the beginning and cannot recommend this podcast enough. The madder the times the more Andy and Team Bugle’s take on our visual world makes sense and (best of all) makes me laugh and restores my faith in humanity. Grab this and the quite astoundingly clever Alice Fraser’s The Gargle if you want to indulge your brain and soul and help the good guys win. Thanks for calling me out this week, Andy—Dylan never said “thank you” like you did.

    My favorite podcast
A couple of weeks ago Andy was hosting the news quiz and someone bailed on the panel, but Neil Delamere was on, and I was like that means more time for neil and andy, yes please. So excited to have neil on the buggle this week. They only had to share with one other bloke, and he was pretty good too. I love the buggle, it’s my favorite podcast. I really appreciate staying up to date with global humor, or at least those former British colonies. Would love to hear from one of the African colonies while you are at it. Great comedians with diverse liberal takes on the world. Andy is a genius. Thanks for doing it.
  • feministprofessor
    Hysterical. In a good way.
Laugh outloud lefty news satire. I can’t get enough. Wish they wouldn’t use the cu__ word so much (I know it’s British but it’s still so sexist) but otherwise love it.

    Chris: Zaltzman@Steel&@BillMaher
Dear Chris, I’ve listened to every episode in the archive—most twice. When are you going to book Zaltzman on Mark Steel’s podcast. & as the Scottish 2nd referendum approaches next year, when are you going to book him (& take Steel & Kumar with him) to “Real Time with BIll Maher.” Those casting producers can only be contacted by someone like me through twitter (which I don’t use). But they are accepting virtual interviews all the time now since Covid. They did John Oliver this year from NYC to LA. It’s past time that the best British satirist meet the best US satirist. You can try to get Fraser on there too, but I fear that she’s too smart for the US audience (think the rural parts of Australia). Thanks, Lit Crit PhD (Dr. R)

    Always awesome
Andy Zaltzman is the smartest funniest guy with the gentlest heart. Great guests every week with wonderful exchanges between them.

    Wonderful
Been listening to The Bugle for years. I remember when John Oliver was the co-host. The Bugle has grown, thrived and survived.

  • The real Richie
    Consummate Articulator
Andy et Co. continue to bring somber news of the world into focus through a humorous yet ultimately compassionate lens. They teach you to not only laugh at the darkness but make cutting remarks about the darkness’s absurd interview blunders and frankly dismal performance on The Masked Singer.

I love this show. It’s hilarious but Andy really needs to speak clearly and at a consistent volume. I turn it up when he starts mumbling and then the next speaker is horribly loud. Please do better!!

Alice, I mean, Andy, I love your show!
You all show that comedy can be funny and relevant and not offensive—thanks for doing your homework and having on guests who do theirs. I love the puns, I have no idea what Andy is saying about crickets, and can’t wait to see what’s going straight in the bin next week.

    Thank you!
I loved the bugle back in the John Oliver days and I love it even more now. Andy Zaltzman is absolutely brilliant, whip smart and incredibly funny. I even love the puns runs, keep them up! Thank you for the hilarious weekly content, and also for introducing me to so many other great comedians. As an American I'm a bit sad that there is very little American representation these days, outside of the occasional Nato Green appearance, and part of me worries this is yet another sign of our descent into irrelevance. Please find more Americans (or even Canadians!) to join your rotation so you can bring us hope that not all is lost. Remember that a large chunk of North America is also part of the "English speaking world", and many of us like to listen to you too! Enjoy your summer holiday, and I look forward to hearing you again in the fall.

    Ever Brilliant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
May you all live long and silly lives, and may you continue recording and sharing the silliness with us eternally. The Bugle and all of its spawn are what make life worth living. As many ⭐️s as possible.

    I love Andy
Is there anything less funny and more sinister and boring than identity politics? I can’t believe what has happened to the Bugle over the last couple years. This show used to make me feel so much better about the sad/wrong things in the world because of the commiserations and intelligence of John and Andy. They used to speak truth about the powerful and then find some humor and joy in this ridiculous world to laugh at. But now.... my heart is broken. Now I pretty much only listen when Anuvab is on I love him too
  • moAnthill
    Entertaining
Hilarious, I'm not British but absolutely enjoyable source of world news and political satire. So good.
  • fgtrecvbhtfuplmbff
I used to love this show, but now
it is nothing but far left identity politics. I now hate the show. It is very hard to listen to virtue signaling and divisive political rants. The show went from funny to angry.

Seriously worth going back and listening to the archives from the beginning in 2007. Best and funniest political satire ever, Andy

Bugle is a hottie from history
New bugle is hotter than or Volcano or Florence Nightengale any day. Andy is brilliant and his pun runs are superb. Great quizzes. Very helpful homeschool curriculum. Bring back cryptic crossword.
  • PhelineCat
Yes, it’s the news ... & so much more
Comedy? ✅ Politics? ✅ Culture? ✅ Andy (Zaltman), the permanent host, is quite funny and Intelligent in his own right; he and John Oliver co-hosted this show and are well matched. I've heard Andy improvise but not John so I can't compare their skill there. ...... Cricket stats have (had) pride of place - stunningly, some American thought it's been a long running discussion of rugby. (Rugby! I’m still stunned by that. They’re very different) Since Covid-19 Andy's been coping well without cricket. Andy et. al. keeps “us” up-to-date with a British flair- and an Indian, Australian and sometime's a Kiwi's view. The US deserves a long critical look from the rest of the former British empire but no one is spared. Canada's missing; I guess they're generally too nice? Listen and learn. We aren’t who we’ve been telling ourselves we are.

    Better than ever
Been listening since the Andy & John days and I think the show is better than ever. At the beginning of the rotating co-hosts era the co-hosts were hit & miss but I’m really really liking the regulars now. I really like the edge the show has and now that they have voices like Nato, Nish, Alice, Hari ~~ it can be straight savage with minimal neoliberal nonsenses
