    very good podcast
I love the way he narrates and the crimes he chooses. Unfortunately the commercials jump in unexpectedly and loudly, and ruin the atmosphere he so skillfully created.
  • I couldn’t come up with name

My favorite true crime show. Carter is awesome and I love how it’s focused on victims.

    It is a good listen.
This podcast is informative and has the right amount of detail with very nice delivery. It expresses the gravity of the situations without all of the drama. I listen to many true crime podcasts but this one definitely does hold my attention, even though I’m very familiar with many of the stories.

    Unsubscribed for annoying forced voice
This guy’s voice is so annoying listen to. Unsubscribed because he talks like a weirdo. Impossible to focus on content with his irritating fake up and down vocal intonations. What a doofus.

So glad you guys are back on apple!
I was thrilled to discover this podcast! I used to enjoy the other shows hosted by Carter and Venessa before they switched exclusively to a different streaming platform years ago. The smooth narration and the beautifully researched, detailed stories are fantastic. I highly recommend it!

    Great!
I have a hard time picking a podcast to listen…their voices have to keep me interested. I listen to Already Gone and this one!! I love the voice and the stories.

    Interview with great-grand-daughters episode/Black Dahlia
Horrible. The two half-sisters talked (mostly) about themselves and not the actual murder of Elizabeth Short. That's because they know very little. Same with George Hodel-- they know almost nothing. Same with their Mother, Fauna Hodel. In fact.. the Hodel family has no connection to the murder of Elizabeth because George Hodel killed nobody. Proven innocent. The girls won't tell you that. The Hodel family, especially Fauna and her daughters, attach themselves by choice to a crime that never happened. It's self-imposed victimization with an agenda for attention, money, etc. More importantly, its revictimization of Elizabeth Short and her family. Did MTCS do actual research and vetting? Sounds like a ratings grab to me. Embarrassing.

Same old crimes exploited yet again
So far all these crimes have been covered over and over again, nothing new. Cash grab that’s late to the game.

    Great Listen
Has a lot of great stories an really gives great info into the stories. Your able to see just what story is telling. The narrator has such soothing voice I could listen him all time.

    True crime fans buckle up!
    This show is awesome.
  • cakers999
    Well researched, horribly narrated
Carter we are begging you to speak normally. I used to thing his dialogue on Conspiracies was bad and was hoping he’d dialed it down when I came here. Sad to see it’s only gotten worse
  • buttstud
Needs a better title but awesome content
The voice of Carter the narrator is soothing . I could listen to him read the phone book. The cases profiled are unique. I just feel the name is too generic, needs to be called something that stands out and pops. Murder True Crime is too bland a title for this provocative show
  • huskersROCK
    So Good!!
I love the podcast! I love ones that just tell me the story in dramatic way, not some discussion point. Carter is one of my faves to listen too!!
  • nbow22
    Good. Simple. True crime.
Just what I need for easy listening. Good unique narration. Some of the stories are more well known that I’ve heard several times. But it’s retold clean n well. Gonna be a long sub.

Checks all the boxes for me
This podcast is a great listen, Carter’s voice is perfect for this type of thing and it’s straight to the point. No banter just jumps right into the story. Which I can appreciate as someone who listens to podcasts more now than ever while working. This one reminds me of the 90s crime shows I grew up watching. Appreciate it!

    Please talk normally
I just listened to Chandra Levy episodes. I love the content, but the theatrical narrating was very distracting/cringy. (If you haven’t listened yet, imagine Peterman from Seinfeld reading Humpy Dumpy to a class of little kids.) i hoped the next series would be different. It wasn’t. I found it a breath of fresh air when his real voice came on during commercial breaks asking us to rate him. So, here I am. PLEASE lose the whispery, dramatic character voice. It doesn’t add anything to make words like ‘door’ or ‘stove’ into three syllables or to whisper and then overly emphasis words in the same sentence. Please just talk normally.

    Interview with Granddaughters not good
I was really enjoying the show up until the bonus episode where the great granddaughters were interviewed for the Black Dalia suspect. They kept talking about themselves for most of the show instead of talking about the true crime. I was not impressed.
  • dihart2
The narration is so slow that it only sounds normal at 1.25 or faster.
The narrator’s delivery was overly measured and dramatic and comes across as unnatural.
  • MomHimes
    Great Story Teller
The story contents are gripping and the story tellers voice adds another intriguing layer. Good stuff.

    Nostalgia for a millennial
This is the first straight narration mystery podcast I have actually stuck with. I’m a rather old-soul millennial who grew up listening to radio dramas, and this reminds me of many of those. Very well-written and well-dramatized. Will be binging it all!
  • tvilla717
    Fantastic!
Barely began listening to this show and I wish it was updated more than once a week and longer episodes 🥲his voice is so calming and every episode is narrated magnificently!

    Top Pick
All of Carter Roy’s podcast is always my top pick for me. He keeps the podcast especially Murder: True Crime Stories very interesting to listen to while driving and when working. When I am playing these podcasts loud in my backroom at work I get my teammates interested as well on the cases with me!
  • Sharon L. Clark
If there was a lounge singing equivalent….
To podcast narrating, this would be it. Please Sean, please go back to narrating normally as you did your other episodes, you have a nice voice. In this sample from Drowning Creek, you sound like that young guy that was on Inside Edition!
  • Traviscashdean
    Over dramatized
This would be a good podcast if dude didn’t over dramatize every single word!
  • GracieV2010
    Highly Recommend
I love listening to this podcast while I’m working, as a huge true crime fan, I enjoy this show and the facts surrounding the murders.

    Loving it So Far
This podcast has been very informative and interesting to listen to. The storytelling is superb. It draws you in, and you don’t want to stop until you know how it all ends. This is going to be a fun ride. Thank you.

like this podcast…like the voice of the host…
and like they’re solved and unsolved…
  • Durst98
Decent but the host overdoes it
I enjoyed Carter Roy on the Conspiracy Theories podcast but he seems to be overdoing the dramatics and emphasizing here. Straightforward delivery would be more effective. Other than that the show is well done, good research and coverage of the stories.
  • Tinnibopper
Love Carter Roy! The best storyteller
Everything that Carter Roy is involved in, just count me in!

A fresh look at some old cases.
I almost passed up this new podcast because the topics of HH Holmes and the Tylenol murders have been done so often already. But I am glad I stuck with it. The host included facts and details. I had not heard before regarding these cases and presented them in an interesting and fresh manner.
  • MirAnnEri
    Fantastic Listen
I love this podcast. My favorite aspect of it is how much detail and facts they have, not only about the crimes but the happenings before the crimes
