Ugh, I’m so mad I found this podcast last month. It’s SO FRICKIN GOOD and I’ve already listened to every episode TWICE. This is one time I wish I came in super late so I would have hundreds of episodes to binge. That being said. I can’t get enough of the retellings and Sidneys silly quips of “you can nope right out of here with that”. Add in her fun facts and this show is killer. 🖤

I started off as a fan of the podcast but in the last few months my opinion has severely cooled. There are two main reasons for this downturn. First of all the episodes don’t usually start until 30-40 minutes in. This time is filled with reading seemingly ongoing conversations between the host and the fans as well as highlighting donations. I have no idea why this would seem interesting in the slightest to the casual listener and seems almost narcissistic. I would think that Patreon or Discord would be the ideal place for this. Now you might be saying “just skip ahead”, as the host has suggested, but I listen mostly at work and cannot always take the time randomly skipping around to find the beginning of the show. Secondly, I usually listen on Spotify where I pay to not hear ads. Yet, there are repetitive and frequent ads throughout the episodes. I understand that this is a source of income for the host but why would I care to endure Spotify sponsored ads when I specifically pay not to? Both of these issues have worsened as of late. The content of the episodes is very good but the formatting makes it nearly unlistenable.

Sidney is a joy to listen to and frequently makes me lol with her quick wit. She’s warm and wonderful but don’t let that fool you…she knows her horror. Highly recommend !

This was my first horror movie. I watched it in the school gym (a catholic school) in 3rd grade! Back in the 70’s they let us watch anything! I remember having nightmares! This totally started my love of jump scares and horror movies. All thanks to catholic school. lol Love, love, love listening to your shows. I’m so happy I found you a couple years ago on TikTok then your freaking amazing podcast. I listen to you religiously (pun intended). I started off with her TikToks and finally decided to come here last week. Started on episode one and I’m absolutely in love. The way she goes in depth about the movies I have learned so many new facts. Each episode could be 3 hours and I would still listen to them.

Ummmm why am I literally crying at every episode? Listening to someone talk so passionately about horror and cinema in general is just incredible. Every week I’m excited to listen. I feel a new passion for horror again.

As someone who loves horror but is also a baby when it comes to horror I absolutely adore Sidney and this podcast! She’s always super thorough with her episodes and I truly appreciate her for it! If you’re also a horror lover (even if not I think she could convert anyone) I highly recommend 💖

I love listening to all the movie reviews and your take on each movie as well. Always enjoyable and has given me reason to go back and watch some old favorites I haven’t watched in years! I do have one suggestions… can you add a time stamp call out for when the review starts!?! I love hearing the shoutouts and think that’s a great way to stay connected to your audience. However, some weeks are pretty long and I can’t sit through the whole thing but also don’t want to skip the start of the actual podcast topic. Just a thought. Keep up the great work you do for us horror fans!

I just want to say that I’ve listened and followed since the TikTok days. Loved the spoiler series! And I’m always excited when a new episode comes out. However, I have just one criticism and I hope it doesn’t come across as rude (like the chop chop guy, as we love/hate to call him). It’s honestly a little disappointing when I see a 90+ minute episode drop only to listen and find out nearly 30 minutes of it is shout-outs. I understand that you want to share your love and appreciation, and that’s great! But I end up skipping through after 10 minutes and once I find where the movie review starts, the episode has a good chunk already gone. I don’t know, it’s just a huge bummer.

Thought about this Hellraiser line as I was sobbing listening to your latest run down of the It movies. I love horror and it’s wonderful to find a person who gets so moved by film that they get weepy and in turn, we the listeners get weepy. I’m loving the pod after finding you on tiktok, (I’m Lizzie/Beach Witch Bars) and I’m realizing I love it so much because you’re the perfect book on tape. A passionate reading and retelling of stories as old as time, some stories that are brand new, some we think we have heard a thousand times but you always have a fresh spin and new info. I found Sidney via TikTok and immediately ran over here to start listening last year. Scrolled back to the beginning and have been binging ever since. I love the way she describes the movies. She’s not fake and you can tell she’s a genuine movie lover. It’s nice to see other people who are avid Horror fans since they were kids as well! I can’t wait to hear more about some of the bigger franchises: esp Scream! To those complaining about the shout outs, you can easily fast forward if it’s that annoying to you. As for the cussing-I don’t really mind, I just have to make sure my kids aren’t in the car if I’m listening to it lol! Keep doing you, Sid!! We love you and Wednesdays are my favorite days!

I feel like I lost my horror community as I grew up and now I have found it again. Listening to this makes me feel as though I m watching horror with my childhood friends. Thank you for renewing my love of horror movies. Oh, and I agree with you that the Exorcist is the scariest of all time. I watched it after hearing it referenced in Scream. My friend and I didn’t move from the couch for 10 minutes after it ended and we were seasoned viewers. Keep it up!

Sid is a great storyteller and seriously knows her stuff. I’m amazed by the speed and detail and mostly by the way she just hooks you in. Sid you’re a phenomenon!

This is one of my favorite podcasts, I’ve been listening non-stop. Found Sid on TikTok a couple of years ago, somehow magically missed that she had a whole podcast. So I’ve been having a blast playing catch up. I’m ordering myself a HC shirt for my birthday at the end of the month. I specifically loved all the coverage of It, and all the Mike Flanagan love. He truly is our lord and savior. I’m just over here impatiently waiting like a child for Midnight Mass coverage.

This is such an amazing podcast! I listen to it more than I listen to music or the radio. I immediately turn this on while I’m cooking or driving to work or pretty much doing anything lol. I love this podcast but I have to skip the first 20 min because the shoutouts are too much. I get 1 or 2 people but spending 20 min shouting random people out is too much. Maybe because this podcast is “new” but I think if you want to shoutout people do it on insta or tik tok so it’s more personalized. If the shoutouts remain this long, I’ll just listen when the snippets pop up on tik tok.

This is the first time I’ve left a review for a podcast and I’m glad it’s this one. This is a “safe space” the “hide in the comment section” section for people who either love horror/have an interest in horror but can’t really take seeing it. Sidney is our guide like how Rod Serling was for The Twilight Zone. If I’m not listening to music in the car I’m listening to this. A must follow!

This show was a recommendation from a co-worker when we were talking about horror movies one day in the office. Sidney has reignited my love of horror, and her foul mouth makes listening to her that much more enjoyable! I’ve rewatched movies because of her, and even watched a few I missed or was unaware of.

You can tell Sidney is a horror fan and not just a pretentious film watching attempting to be a grifter with a podcast. She loves the genre, watches the films, and knows a lot about the genre. I appreciate that as a listener. Keep up the good work!

I can’t watch horror movies because I get too spooked but I love hearing the plots, especially because so many talented screenwriters and directors are making really interesting stories these days. The host of this podcast is so enthusiastic, entertaining and conversational that it’s easy to just binge episodes in the background while I’m working. Despite the gruesome subject matter, an obvious labor of love.

I’ve just discovered a love for podcasts since I have a long commute to work. Sidney really goes in depth with her reviews and I love that. I’ve also been introduced to new podcasts from her tik tok and podcast and I love it. Finding a horror based podcast that’s good with pacing and explanation is difficult to find nowadays. If you love horror or can’t watch horror movies but want to know what happens this is the podcast for you!
