Great content, overpowering music not sure I can hang in there for all of it. It’s a little Bit irritating it takes away from the content itself.

Run, don't walk from this podcast!! As a political Independent I tuned into their series on progressivism with a great deal of interest. ...And am bombarded with statements such as all working women believe stay at home wives are unhappy, that men and Christians are discriminated against, that Progressives don't believe in God. Progressives have some pretty dumb ideas but have you listened to Conservatives lately? Come on guys get your act together and give a BALANCED set of facts and opinions, this is full of lies and exaggerations.

Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast course, especially as Christmas is almost here. The instructor shared details and nuances that were interesting, and some that were new to me. I highly recommend this particular course, no matter the time of year. I am grateful to Hillsdale College for offering these online courses for free and also in podcast form. Sincerely, Mrs. Mowery

    Biased, but Good
Hillsdale College has some great content but it’s important to note that they have a clear conservative bias. It’s still very good information but to get the most out of it you should keep in mind that they have a certain viewpoint that permeates through all of their content. Their courses on the Roman Republic and Ancient Greece on their website are also very good. Think for yourself; Question authority.

A traditional approach is not necessarily a good one
Disappointing that Hillsdale has taken this path with history courses, more in the nature of propaganda than education. I'm particularly discouraged when literalist readings are applied to ancient texts that are fake news, clearly corrupt and meant to deceive. Classics can be valuable for instruction on reading and misreading, but they require considerable understanding of Egyptian as well as Greek and Latin, and also knowledge of preclassical African history as well as classical European. Let tourist businesses overseas promote myths and lies about the past. It is the purpose of higher education to stimulate pursuit of the truth. Now as ever, students need to learn to question the texts they read.

    Fantastic
The course on the 2nd World War was fascinating. I learned things not taught in public schools. Great job.

    Totalitarian
The word was not invented in response to Hitler and Stalin. Benito Mussolini coined it when he said, "All within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state."
