My2kidsarefunThank you for your honestyBeing a foster parent comes with its reward, but you have to go through all of the challenges to get there. One of the biggest challenges is learning new personalities and struggles of a child who just stepped into your house. You don’t get to see them grow and change over a lifetime. Thank you for being honest on your podcast to talk about the challenges and how we can overcome them.
-
MntcheerSo helpfulChristine does such a great job of helping mamas not feel alone! Her passion for her kids and for the Lord is contagious!

Tinnaj009Too religious for meShe seems like a nice lady, but it felt too preachy for me. I’m glad you’re here for the folks looking for that, but I’m moving on.

PDay0911Trauma SurvivorI am going to try again. I wrote a lenghly review but for some reason was rejected just like I was for most of my life. I am learning much from your podcast. I am on the other side of the spectrum. I am a trauma survivor. I believe that I finally know what my diagnosis should be. I think I must be a RAD survivor but it has continued in my adult life. I did not get the therapy I needed. I wonder how old I am emotionally I am 78 chronilogiaaly . I know that I lost two years of my life some where. When I met my husband t thought I was a young 46 turns out I was 48. That’s what trauma does to you. I want to give you a 10 star review if it wasn’t for you I still wouldn’t know my diagnosis. I believe that God used this time to train me to be an Empath and a Overcomer . The good that came out of this I share my testimony on face book.I give them hope . I chose to forgive those who hurt and abused me in every way possible. I am sharing your podcast with others. Your guest was right share with others what you have gone through. I discovered this when I was 77 in therapy finally. I would give a couple of suggestions for either foster care or adoption. If the child is old enough please include them in the decision. It’s bad when you’re adopted at the age of eight adoption nullified at the age of thirteen. This is what happened to me. The other suggestion is to limit the amount of kids you are fostering. Each child comes with their own unique challanges. I am facing new challanges everyday after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease last summer. I want to reach out to people while God allows me too. He gift me the gift of writing Christian Poetry another way to share my faith. My therapist is having me write my story. Most would have turned away from God I ran to Him. The point that I am trying to express there is still hope after trauma. Maybe my brain was damaged. I don’t know I just know that some of my . past memories are gone Paula Day

Princess-kcLove the raw and real POVFound your podcast on a whim searching for first hand experience for foster/adoption/kinship etc. thank you for being raw and real, especially the episode on your ADHD and anxiety. I have both as well and it’s reassuring to hear from others that those are not a reason to not go down the path to adopt or be a guardian or foster parent.

s NH shnsbsLove this podcastI love this podcast and really enjoyed the episode on RAD. However, it is totally possible for RAD to be healed. I know a very sweet lady who used to be RAD and have been involved in a camp helping children heal. For more info and resources go to attachment.org.

-
FranamaliaroWow, such an awesome podcast already!Christine, this podcast is such a blessing. I personally am not a foster or adopting mama, but I do share a close relationship to the world of fostering as my mother has been a foster parent for quite a few years. I used to always wonder how she figured things out, how she was able to be so strong throughout the years, and most of all why the system was the way it is! I am excited to keep tuning in! 10/10 my friend. So many people will be blessed by this!
-
KJoMrAlways learning!Thank you for your wisdom. Fresh information and perspective on RAD is so important when the day to day grind of it burns mommas to the ground. My husband and I have two AD - they each have RAD - but the two opposite ones - each day is very challenging.

Mego8285I love it!! Very relatable and honest. This podcast is amazing! I love that Christine Marie shares personal stories and experiences that are relatable. She does a great job at connecting with people and ensuring that people know they are not alone in their struggles. There are so many challenges with our systems for fostering, adopting and with mental health that are not discussed on the regular and leave people feeling lost. Her knowledge of the systems and background dealing with the challenges of fostering and adopting make this such a great podcast. I love that she relates to her training in biblical neuroscience to tie it all together too. Definitely recommend this one for everyone fostering, adopting, or just dealing with a child that they feel like they can’t relate to other parents with.
