MinhdadLongtime Quaker, first time listenerI was drawn to Quakerism as a child and grew up at Sandy Spring Monthly meeting in MD and attended Earlham College have gone to FGC, became a member and active business and committee work in Raleigh NC and as I have traveled, enjoy visiting meetings and inquiring about hospitality. I started with the “What do Quakers believe?” podcast, a question I have fielded inwardly and outwardly. I am glad to find such a quality resource and have shared it with friends that I think will enjoy this resource. Gratitude.

majr movesThank you for highlighting Black QuakersThe episode with Ayesha Imani and learning about the history of Black Quakers has transformed my faith and nudged me to return home to Quakerism. I attended a Quaker school growing up and have always felt grounded by my Quaker faith, but I never named or declared it. I’ve struggled to reconcile the tension between feeling a strong sense of belonging as a Friend while being simultaneously othered as a Black person from a working class background in white spaces. Ayesha’s thoughtful and nuanced reflections resonated and really excited me about joining Black Quaker communities and finding a spiritual home. I absolutely love this podcast.

Mormor725220Always interesting & engagingWho knew a podcast about Quakers could be fresh and interesting?! I learn something every time. I guess Quakers still have something to say in these times. Also, love Georgia’s voice and style as a podcaster.

Frisch1Thoughtful podcasts - useful to both Friends and those wishing to learn more about FriendsI enjoy the mix of topics from historical to current issues faced by Friends’ meetings. I appreciate the way Georgia Sparling and Jon Watts present the challenges of following a leading. Recent episodes have reminded me that some of the most prominent Quaker activists found a home in or grew up in Quakerism, only to find that later they outgrew the Quaker community. I have experienced this with some of my own contemporaries! The episodes have a good length; the sound quality is good and the music supports the listening experience. I hope to use the episode on hybrid meetings as we continue to explore the use of zoom technology in my meeting.

ttttttexasGood NewsA great resource for seekers and convinced Quakers alike. Jon Watts has brought diverse Quaker perspectives to many through the QuakerSpeak YouTube video series, and this is an exciting new medium for this work.

A.K.M.B.Thrilled to hear our story represented so thoughtfullyI’ve been waiting for this, though I’m not sure I knew it. I always loved “On Being” by Krista Tippet and wondered why there wasn’t a similarly spirited forum about Quakers—who we are and how we live our faith. It’s early to tell, but maybe this is like that? Or maybe it’ll be something better. Either way, I’m excited.
