In each episode of DIE HARD ON A BLANK, hosts Philip Gawthorne and Liam Billingham discuss one major mainstream action movie that was released after DIE HARD. Phil and Liam break down the story, heroes, villains, action, humor and the 'DIE HARD DNA' that infuse each film, including common cast and crew members. They rate each film and hand out DIE HARD-themed awards. As I write this, I just finished catching up with the entire podcast in the span of a month. If you’re even remotely interested in 80s/90s action cinema, listen to these guys. They know their stuff and their enthusiasm is contagious. Highly recommended!

I love this show. Just about every movie they’ve covered is a total banger, and something I watched multiple times growing up. Each episode I’ve listened to gives me the itch to go watch the movie again. My favorite podcast discovery in a long time.

These guys do a great job of not just being informative but create great laughs (“No More Table”). Makes for a great listen. Action movies deserve recognition and these guys are giving it. Also they respond to emails. Shows they care about their listeners. So enjoy the “party” and “have a few laughs”!!

This is the best movie podcast out there. Phil and Liam thread the themes of a classic through time - agreeing, arguing, and aggrandizing as they bring their sharp insights to every aspect of these films. The banter is lively and fun, but the guys never get ahead of themselves, puzzling through the what-ifs that we all have about movies and how they’re made. It’s a red ball of yarn connecting your moviegoing experience with theirs, zigzagging all over the cork board of cinema history. Fantastic stuff. (And yes, it’s also a Christmas podcast.)

Philip and Liam know their stuff, and they’re great at reaching beyond the more obvious influences to something deeper about both the movies they cover and the cultural currents that made them. Can’t wait for the ep on “Executive Decision.”

As a film lover whose preferred genre is decidedly *not* action movies, I’m so pleasantly surprised by DIE HARD ON A BLANK! Phil and Liam are already inspiring me to expand my own taste in movies with their spirited conversations about the many threads unspooling from DIE HARD and the in-depth level of critique, insight, and dot-connecting film history they’re bringing to each episode so far.
