Reagan_13So and soChris has been one of my favorite since his days with Dana Perino. Love Eliana as well. This has been my number one podcast also side Megyn Kelly until lately. I even have two sons currently at HSC. I understand Chris’s disdain of Trump, but it’s clouding his commentary. He’s always been unbiased as possible, clear minded, and well thought out until lately. Don’t let your dislike of Trump ruin a good thing.

LlanfairGoGoGochHow to improve the showThis show would be much better if Chris Stirewalt didn’t have the cohost he does. She is unpleasant and adds no value whatsoever.
-
Hgiels1956Stirewalt is the best!Stirewalt is one of my favorite political commentators to listen to! I was a big fan of his former podcast, I’ll Tell You What, and I’ve missed his refreshingly rational, funny yet incredibly astute takes on what’s going on in the world. I’m glad to have that back with this podcast. Not as familiar with Eliana, but she seems to be a good counterpart to Chris, although I don’t agree with her 100% of the time. But still very smart and well-spoken/thoughtful.

itsfriendly!Love Chris & ElianaOnly complaint is that it isn’t longer each week!

BalderRomeyEliana’s blind spotsI’ve been a listener since the start. While I understand Eliana’s background and how it shapes her perspective (she is quick to criticize mainstream liberal bias), she has developed massive blind spots about Trump. In the latest episode, she gave a VERY charitable account of Trump’s DJ Town Hall before admitting to not watching it or knowing the story. How can she provide credible criticism when she doesn’t do basic homework? Her GOP blind spot is so large that I’m concerned she shouldn’t be driving. Stirewalt’s intellectual honesty is the only reason to listen to this show right now.

frankwhitenykingReal Journalism 🫡On the CBS News/Ta-Nehisi Coats interview….. Word is that the young fragile journalist in the CBS Newsroom needed to go to the “Crying Room” due to the “Trauma” they witnessed in that interview. LOL And this is the future? Lordy, we in some troubleeeeee…… smh
-
Talie Ann BridgetTDS -ChrisChris’s dislike of Trump shades the credibility of the podcast. Trump is a lot of things but economically illiterate he is not. We had the best economy under Trump but Chris’s dislike of Trump keeps him from being intellectually honest about Trump. Unfortunately, it destroys the credibility of his commentary.
-
BoilingrugEdit: No credibilityThese are media critics explaining the righteousness of Vance & co making up a story to push a (read:their) agenda. I didn’t know you could do that, but one of the hosts works for the Banal bee. Credibility flushed PS: I’d bet good $ Scientific American has way more prestige than Ink Stained Wretches.
-
ssmallenI really tried…I tried to listen because of the respect I have for Eliana. Her partner brings her down and it seems like she gets to a point where she just gives up when it comes to correcting him or when he constantly interrupts her. Either that or some of her comments are cut during editing. Either way, I’m done. Wish I could leave a “zero”.
-
dastratmanDone with this podcastI am so tired of Chris butting in on Eliana and then just droning on and on. He takes entirely too long to make a point. He loves to hear himself talk and I can’t stand it any longer. Bye bye wretches.
-
HLKIVInformative and FunnyThis is a great show. I love Chris and Eliana’s chemistry and Chris’s laughter during Facile Files. Lee it up!
-
SafaviehMandatory JoyI enjoy this podcast and respect Christine Rosen. What I did not appreciate here was the sneering at “Regime Media.” News flash: it exists. Quoting Dan Bongino is like quoting AOC for the Leftists. So obvious it’s not worth saying. Also a fan of NR and ok with their take on Trump.
-
inluvwithtunesFive stars for ElianaEliana is concise and insightful and smart. She is fun to listen to regardless of the topic from how to find great designer purse knock-offs to politics. Chris is so very long winded, on and on he goes. I often fast forward when he starts talking because what he has to say could be said in a couple of sentences, but he just keeps talking!
-
WellmandudeUghhhhLove Chris, but Eliana is awful. Free Beacon is basically a fake news organization that only ever seeks to make hit pieces bashing the left.
-
Eddb123Ink Stained Wretch should be the name of podcastShow should be called Ink Stained Wretch because Eliana cannot get a word in. As well, the hatred that Chris has for Republicans, Conservatives, Fox News and Trump and his followers is just ridiculous. A once good podcast……..

bettyboop965May have to stop listeningEliana is informative and honest with her critiques. However, Chris is so biased against Trump that it affects all his media analyses. I believe this is called Trump derangement syndrome. I, like many others, do not like everything about Trump, but I can look at his policies and actions in an honest way. Some are good, some are bad, but, I believe, Trump is our best option.
-
Papa John55Eliana Solo!I can hear this stuff on any number of right wing websites. If Chris isn’t there this is just garbage
-
TextdghI love Eliana, butChris Stirewalt is a Jonah Goldberg pusillanimous never-Trumper. I am not a fan of Trump, but I like honesty and Stirewalt has become as un-American as Goldberg. On a lighter note, his projecting that middle-aged men should not wear dungarees is because he grew up wearing husky size, which clearly is triggering for him. Sorry Eliana, you are fantastic, but your partner is a jerk.
-
NotMarciaChris did it againEJ broached the topic of the Second Gentleman’s infidelity during his first marriage. She attempted to discuss the hypocrisy of Doug E’s leading the charge against toxic masculinity. Chris derailed the conversation and discussed Trump’s indiscretions. Bench your disdain for Trump long enough to discuss this news story.

geezisthisnamealreadytaken?Best podcast.Best podcast.

DNTPChris needs to prepare as well as Eliana does. Some podcasts seem poorly organized, and it appears that Chris is seeing the agenda for the first time on air.

PhoebeFrankThought-provoking!This is my second 5 star review. I listen to Eliana and Chris intently each week. It is like having two friends in my living room discussing articles and perspectives. I look forward to their “visits.” The discussions are thought-provoking and often make me consider differing ideas. I also love the interplay between Eliana and Chris. They can disagree and still exhibit civility and respect toward each other! Eliana is direct and decisive, while Chris is empathetic and explores historical perspectives. Keep up the humor, delicious food references, and the great discussion. You enrich my life each week!

ltbpt5/3 Star SplitCame here for Eliana after enjoying her takes on another pod. She is fair, funny and deserves 5 stars. I used to appreciate Chris’ approach but he just can’t overcome his TDS and is tedious. Even non MAGAs can find objective views on the current situation. Hoping Eliana can continue to team up with Emily J more in the future.

jewls317Food JournalismWhat a fun podcast with Vic! You were all so at ease and interesting!
-
evjdInk stained on old newsUsually enjoy views of current news. Lately, have been disappointed by “not so newsy news.” Perhaps television on Sundays is cramping style of current newspapers.
-
LBD222I’ve Tried But I Can’tEliana, I like you. I always enjoy you on Megyn Kelly’s show. Chris, I’ve tried to like you but after listening to this latest show, I think I’m done. You have TDS, sir. Just admit it and move on. I used to think you were objective and fair but you are not — at least not when it comes to Trump. So I’m done with this podcast.
-
Hsmomof3giftsWonderful and FunLook forward to this podcast every week. Great commentary and helps me keep up with news I might’ve missed.
-
mustardhairTiresome.50% insightful and interesting, 50% inane and facile. I was ok with that balance for a while but given their whole schtick is pointing out the bias in other media, I just can’t take their hypocrisy anymore.
-
Gretchen WillitsSurprisedI expected to be annoyed by the Jonah Goldberg interview, but I was not. It was an excellent podcast episode. It’s not that I’m a Trump supporter. I don’t really care about Trump (and I agree with a lot of the criticism) and I don’t care at all about Fox News (no tv consumption here for decades). It’s that I expected a smug-fest of tribal snark, but the interview was smug-free and with very little snark. A very thoughtful interview. Thank you. I’ve changed my mind.

PonteLasPilasDisappointed in the recent biasI’ve been listening to Wretches since its inception and really enjoyed it. I love Chris and his take on the media. I have noticed that over the past month or so, there has been an obvious bias against Biden. Every comment by Eliana includes “old and senile” or “old and dementia” when discussing Biden. When discussing Trump the most she will say is “crazy” No mention of his old age, mental instability or family history of Alzheimer’s disease (which runs in families). Not even a discussion of Trump slurring his words or making up words while ranting during his rallies (again, a loss in language skills is a clear indicator of Alzheimer’s). Clearly they are both old and not sharp, but Eliana and even Chris only point out Biden’s errors, and gloss over or ignore Trump’s clear decline. I’m done. Unsubscribed.

Adrienne 15The best podcast on mediaThis is an invaluable podcast because it offers straight talk on both the left and right media bubbles. Bravo!
-
lsh2123Wonderful but…This show is excellent but could be vastly improved if Chris stopped interrupting Eliana. Chris’s interruptions are especially annoying during segments where each host is supposed to present a story. When it’s Eliana’s turn, let it be Eliana’s turn. Frequently, Eliana says 2 words before Chris jumps in and commandeers her segment. Your audience is interested in what you *both* have to say.
-
ScrantonChickConstructive CriticismI really want to like this podcast because i respect both of the hosts as journalists so much. When EJ is on Megyn Kelly it’s like night and day contrast to her own podcast. Chris is brilliant but the whole podcast is so unfocused. I suspect you could really benefit some professional producers if you can afford it. Maybe it’s just a fun project and you have no interest. But it’s very hard to listen to in its current state regardless of the quality of substance. There’s no natural chemistry between the hosts and it doesn’t flow at all.
-
crunchysmoothClear and objectiveRefreshing to hear reporters expressing views with clarity and humor while objectively talking about the once respected field of news. I worked in the field when the landscape was very different and have compassion for folks who are still fighting the good fight. Best Eric Los Angeles

Buddy TNChris, please quit interrupting ElianaI like the show. And I would like it even more if Chris would STOP INTERRUPTING Eliana. I want to hear what she has to say. Eliana, if necessary you must start interrupting Chris so that he will know how it feels.
-
the-shocker12Never missGreat podcast. I’ve listened to every episode from the start. One quibble, should t it be “los wretchos?”
-
The S.K.P. MachineNot WorthwhileThe Wretches are “big fans” of journalists who publish factually incorrect stories, so long as those journalists are their friends. That’s behavior they mock in others, but are not self-aware enough to recognize in themselves.
-
Fred1821FFClimate stupidityChris thanks for a great podcast. To extent the Climate Fear Porn, I had a boss years ago, an entrepreneur in ag business in Eastern Illinois a region with working class people similar to your native West Virginia. Any way the old school weather people would forecast Big Snow Storms, Big Rains, Tornadoes, the drumbeat of the forecast is the same as the Fear of today’s Climate Warriors. But Jerry’s saying after the forecast “We’re all going to die! We’re all going to die! Then tomorrow we’ll wake up and go back to work! And live our lives!
-
JennaboaCan spot every bias but their ownWell, you aren’t wrong about the media being ink-stained wretches. I’ve tried with this pod, I really have. I want to like these guys but when people talk about out of touch media? You are the pot talking to the kettle. For example, when you are comparing the Biden apple to the Trump orange and saying it is CLEAR that Biden is in worse decline, how is this objective? They are both declining rotten old fruit, give it rest. We know already, let the platforms — or lack thereof outside of “l’estate, moi” — be the determining factor. There are very clear messages from both camps on offer here. The age thing is a dead horse that has done beat itself to death and isn’t changing because. There doesn’t have to be both sides of a story, when the shape of it all is circle of political hackery looking to equivocate things that a kindergartener can tell the truth of. Do better, y’all. You are part of the problem.

JBJB234Great show!Informative, fun, and fair!
-
GuyfromWIOne of my favoritesI eagerly look forward to Friday mornings to get a review of the news about the news. I appreciate the continued views on the decline of local media. I’d love to see it thrive and appreciate both Eliana and Chris’s views.
-
tiena9Love this Podcast!I’ve listened to Chris since his first podcast and he is my favorite newsperson/pundit, by far. I love the way he reports without bias … not obviously for one political side like so many others. I trust his reporting. Also have enjoyed listening to Eliana and hearing her take on “the news about the news” and, on a lighter note, share her obsession of designer handbag news! Keep up the great work!!
-
Pacaman5Love it!Your podcast is my favorite, I absolutely love it! I wish it were more than once a week.
-
Geoplanter1/3024 reviewI’m continually amazed that Chris and Eliana take it as a point of pride that junk food and copious amounts of red meat constitute the good life! After all, the average listener to “Ink Stained Wretches” is not exactly the Bubbas and Goobers of the land.
-
dswunschDisgustedI have been an eager listener to the podcast and enjoy the well reasoned critiques. I was disgusted to listen to Chris play off his news organization being one of the many (all?) news organizations calling the Iowa caucuses while voting was ongoing. Saying “we all knew” or “polling happens on the way in” or “we weren’t As early as others” is weak equivocation. It doesn’t matter if it would have changed anything. If you participate in doing that, you participate in the weakening of public confidence in the process. You are complicit and need to own it. You may still retain a small amount of wonder at why your profession rates behind Congress in popularity (probably rates behind syphillis at this point), well, wonder no more. Eliana was right to say it was a “bad look” but it goes way beyond that in the final dissolution of trust in the rasonable sounding people in media. Sad, because you were among the few we could to turn to…..
