    I don’t think it’s actually that scary
But I do think that the stories are really cool

    One of a kind! 💙
This is one of my favorite horror podcasts on the platform. Everything from Carmen’s beautiful and Erie voice, the sound effects, the stories themselves, everything about Freaky Folklore is just amazing. Definitely worth listening to! 10/10

    Love this!
I look forward to new episodes and I’m still catching up on all the old ones as well. Carmen’s voice is perfect for the content and the way the stories are intertwined with the facts and history of each subject. Can’t get enough!

    Amazing
This show is beyond amazing. I love mytholgy so much and am in the field of psychology and my brain is so happy with this show. Carmen is everything you could ever want in a Podcast host, she's just fantastic! Each episode is so exciting. What a fun and freaky way to explore different aspects of fear across cultures!

    Unnecessary soundtrack
I tried listening for 4 months and I hate the soundtracks used on each episode. They are loud ,distracting and nonsensical. Good luck I’m unfollowing

    Freaky folklore- host
Loved the way the theme of the cast was told. Kept me wondering what was gonna happen next, mingled with lore, personable like story. With nibbles of the fear and doubt in the hints of what made it spookier, Carmen Carrier sealed the lore behind a rustic buckle.

    Excellent!!
I have been listening to Freaky Folklore for the better part of two years now. Although all the episodes are fantastic, The Black Annis episode was the best I’ve heard! I like to tell stories by the fire pit in the colder autumn nights… I’m going to remember this one!

    Disruptive background music
Can we tone down the background music? Grief, I couldn’t hear and pay attention with all that rackety music in the background. Had to close it out and just take the miss on the Asmodeus episode.

    Horrificly Awesome!!!
I love anything creepy! And these just fuels it! The lady is chill. I also enjoy how it’s structured like a actual book. This can help me write my own books! But, I can nearly finish one. So long. But, now it’s summer I have all the time for it. Except back to school. Darn it procrastinating, FREE ME!

Love this podcast. Very informative about the creatures and gives good background. I hope it has more monster vs monster battles.

    Meh…mispronouncing words constantly
I’m listening to the Stacy Arras disappearance in Yosemite episode and the narrator says, “Cases with SIMULAR circumstances” it’s SIMILAR not SIMULAR. She has a very heavy Eastern Kentucky mountains accent where she pronounces words such as LIKE and BIKE with a long A sound. So Bike sounds like BAAACK and Like sounds like LAAACK. I’m not crazy about that accent and the mispronunciation of words. Mispronouncing words is just a lack of education, not an accent problem. It’s like people that call a chimney, a CHIMLEY. Very annoying. Other than that, this podcast literally puts me to sleep. Her low whispery voice is just boring.

I’m completely hooked to this podcast!
I have always been fascinated by myths and folklore. This podcast has not only introduced me to creatures I’ve never heard of before but has also shone light on the histories behind ones I thought I knew quite a bit about. The addition of the stories adds to the fun. Hearing a tale about each monster helps bring each of them to life. I hope we can begin to explore more exotic monsters of myths from less know lore from around the world! ❤️❤️❤️

    Wonderful (except the commercials)
Huge fan of Carman’s work here. The more I listen to her, the more I like her. However the same plague than has infestated every YouTube video & other podcast rears its head here. Intrusive commercials. I listen to podcasts to relax at bedtime. Wind down at the end of the day to escape exactly this sort of mind numbing bludgeoning over the head during every waking moment of the day. If I have to hear one more putrid Draft Kings spot I’ll lose my mind. So I’m chilling to Carman beginning to drift off then BOOM! The kiss of death. I realize everybody unfortunately has to make some dough by adding this blather. But it is at the point of insanity. At least if they were all at the start of the episode, you could stomach it. But nope. In the middle too. AND they are always so LOUD & practically blown your ears off. I like podcasts where the HOST just does the commercials. Much less jarring. Just continue in your pleasant voice “this episode is sponsored by…”. That I can deal with. So yeah, a BIG FIVE STAR show here Carman. You are wonderful. Docked a star by horrid intrusive commercials. 😭

    Wow
One day I randomly searched up podcasts about spooky, supernatural, and bestiary tales. On that day I found something special, for real! Carman has a 50s/60s Diner conversation tone about her and it makes these podcasts so easy to listen to. I love that she goes into lore and research in the middle of the story she’s weaving . A format that’s great for getting through work and also setting a spooky soothing mood when decompressing from stuff . Much love

Great quality and interesting, I enjoy listening to this too and from the way to work. I think you should do more of the modern folklore (you could do Smile Dog or Jeff the Killer)

    Could use some polish
I don’t to be too harsh. Making a podcast is quite the undertaking. The premise is one that would get my interest: tell an original short story about the monsters featured, and then give some info and background about the topic. That’s something I’d like to listen to. The problem I struggle with is the presentation. The narration in the episodes I’ve listened to can be monotone, which makes it hard to listen to. There are also several times I’ve heard words mispronounced. And I won’t want to be harsh about it because I don’t know the circumstances behind either of those things. Unfortunately those two factors are partly why I’m not a regular listener. Which is a shame since I believe this podcast has a lot of stuff I actually like. I would recommend looking into a voice over coach or teacher to help identify the type of line delivery you want to go with for your podcast. Telling a scary story doesn’t require monotone reads, and a coach is the most qualified individual to help with that. Best of luck in your future endeavors. Maybe I’ll tune in again sometime in the near future.

I listen to over 20 podcasts and this is in my top 5. Love how how the story incorporates the legend/myth.

    Love This Podcast
I am very happy I found this podcast. I fond the stories to be very intriguing and the way Ms. Carrion interjects facts about her research and related stories is a nice addition. Ms. Carrion’s voice is very soothing and melodic. Her reading style is top notch. Once again I am very happy I found Eeriecast.

Love but wish had more really scary episodes
I love this podcast but I find it difficult to find a episode I get deep into but it’s not like all the rest of the episodes are bad there just not the best episodes in the world. I love how they talk about folklore from North America to Africa. They tell you wonderful strouds wall they take you about the creature or entity. 5 stars would recommend!

    The Best
One of the best host’s I’ve listened to. She’s serious, and invested on the subjects. Her stories are such a entertaining way to introduce us to the creatures and folklore! So much more fun to listen to. If the host writes her own stories, I’m even more impressed. All in all it’s THE BEST creature and strange folklore podcast out there. So many amazing creatures I never even knew about.

Love the Tales, But the Narrator is Meh
The tales a great and the variety is good. I know the creator is also the narrator but her voice is too wooden and breathy. Her reading from a script is too obvious. She’s trying way to hard to be spooky. Be real and just tell a good story.
  • DanielBarnes22
    Great
The narrator has one of the best speaking voices if ever heard. She doesn’t overemphasize as so many tend to do for effect. She allows a good story to tell itself. Well Done.
  • Burnsie307
    Nice creepy podcast
The readers tone, voice control, and tempo are fantastic in this podcast. I like how she tells a story that brings you all n then in the middle gives you a facts about the folklore we’re exploring and finishes the story. It’s a good way to get a little bit of information with a good story inside of it like a great sandwich.

I love listening to these tales especially one about Native American folklore. Could you possibly do one about kitsunes, the shapeshifing, tricker fox from Japanese folklore.
