Love this podcast. Discovered it 6 months ago and have listened to every episode. I like the long episodes as I listen while working, hunting, and fishing. I like the fact that they are cold reads and I appreciate the care and thought put into pieces by writers. This is clearly a passion project of some very skilled individuals.

I love Jeffrey Dhamer’s story!

Content is interesting, however he bends over backwards to not offend anyone…Except Christian’s and people who live in the non-coastal areas of the US.

Disclaimer: Satire If I ever become a serial killer and get caught I will cite this podcast as the reason why it took me so long to get caught. Because you keep talking about things people should do either not to get caught or not to self incriminate. And I’d just keep like idk burning the bodies or like tossing them in the ocean with like a large heavy rock attached to them. And or killing people in very inconspicuous ways like poisoning with that one radioactive isotope thing or something like that.

Pretty much my favorite podcast. I do have one comment: Lately the background music has a buzzing noise that sounds like a distant alarm ringing. I had to turn the volume down to make sure I wasn’t hearing a siren! Particularly disconcerting if I’m wearing earbuds.

I’m an OGBB! I love the format, and the editing with the music that stops on tangents. The writers are very good. I love the topics.

It started with just listening at work to keep me woke his voice so soothing love his accent and how he guessed what would happen next and how he would google stuff about the US lol he started with I don’t believe in the death penalty to let them fry rotfl and I love the allegedly he throws out all the time lol been listening for over 5 years now I love u Simon

An interesting crime story telling technique. Simons incredulous reactions and outbursts are hilarious. The Police do seem to take nearly all the blame, which I agree in many cases, but the Justice system release these monsters on technicalities or some legal loop hole repeatedly when the Police finally arrest them. Needs a bit more Balance, but otherwise I enjoy listening. 👍 Editing leaves a lot to be desired in certain episodes that end in the middle of nowhere😖

Meticulously detailed, expertly written, delivered by a dude who is clearly a professional. Every other podcast in the genre is rubbish compared to this. A suggestion for a topic- the 2015 Clinton Correctional Facility escape {adapted as a miniseries titled “Escape At Dannemora” directed by Ben Stiller}. It’s the sort of “stranger than fiction” stuff that would be perfect for Simon.

Easily the best true crime podcast I’ve listened too

The constant laughing and joking was weird and distracting. I couldn’t stand the excessive side commentary and giggling. I tried really hard to finish the episode, but I couldn’t.

Despite the high quality of the show, it is obvious that there is less care given to the production of the podcast as there are frequently skips in the recording that can make episodes confusing and hard to follow.

I love this and several of Simon’s other projects. The audio levels are low on a good portion of episodes. But, other than that it’s great. I love his commentary and the vast variety in locations, dates, and perspectives

The host is constantly stopping in the middle of every sentence to talk about himself. It makes otherwise interesting topics completely unlistenable. Either has a live person to talk to, or just read the story.

My favorite true crime show. And my second favorite show from the Whistlerverse (my favorite is deciding the unknown).

The narrator’s voice is very annoying. Sounds like he is trying to speed read and doesn’t give a care about the victim. He even blames the victim for getting into the car. Rubish

Great podcast

Amazing show! Nothing really more to say. But people keep digging at Simon for being “annoying” and “privileged”. We must stand up for him, folks! ¡Viva la revolución! (Edit: Simon, please cover Park Myung-sik, North Korea’s only recognized serial killer)

So I’ve got that weird tick where listening to crimes helps me through rough days. Simon and all the REALLY great script writers: Emily, Dani, Rachel, David, Michael - I hope I’m giving you guys proper credit, I’m writing this so late- thank you so much. I really REALLY like how much spotlight is spent on remembering the victims for their lives, not only their horrible ends. I really enjoy Simon and his rants though if you have no idea what he’s on about he can loose you quick. But he always guides you through with a lot of genuine kindness, empathy, curiosity, and as much playfulness as he can muster while reading about events where the WORST things that can happen happens. He does not revel in the pain. I don’t like how if he doesn’t know much on the topic he shares what little bits of rumors or uninformed tidbits he’s heard. Like it’s very relatable and all but it’d be great if (maybe) similar Extra Credits (YouTube) where they could follow up with a video or post to cover/explain those holes of his understanding/knowledge. I just get uneasy thinking of hosts trying to explain things they don’t know much about and audiences (me) parroting that without more research. Maybe some info links or something? Overall, LOVE the show thank you all so much for this podcast I really enjoy listening to you guys. Also go check out their other podcasts like biographical!

I feel like the main narrative must come from a very privileged background because he constantly references his blessed life, everything going up. Further, he belittles important aspects of life when your poor, for example, having a tub. Maybe less gloating and more empathy?

Overall great show and content. However the host always bashes Christianity and makes it very known that he dislikes it. Everyone has their opinions, but constantly hating on Christianity as if it’s being forced it kinda out of hand.

This weird host constantly curses and jokes while making light of tragedy and death.

So I’m about half way through an episode. The constant quips And jokes are too much. Especially on subjects he’s ignorant of. His exhale through his nose every five seconds is very annoying. He goes from talking to yelling jokes. The subject of the podcast is interesting. But he’s a bit much.

Writers used to be a little stuffy but that seems gone now the show is fab🤙

I’ve been binge listening to every podcast for a month straight

I love how you turn a five minute script into a 2 hour rant.

In the true crime world it can be incredibly difficult to find a channel that focuses on the victims and not the perpetrators. The writers here are absolutely brilliant, crafting immersive stories that put you in the shoes of the victims or their families and focusing on the details of police work and investigation. Simon’s occasional ramble keeps the stories from getting monotonous and impersonal. My absolute favorite podcast ever.

The host speaks so fast is hard to keep up with him

For some reason the middle of the episode is missing here. There’s only 22 minutes here on Apple Podcasts.

While I enjoy the topics of this podcast, the very first episode I chose to listen to has multiple problems with the audio: repeating sections and skipping other sections, and with the speed of Simon's speech, it means that you actually miss not an insignificant amount of information. Going to stick to the YouTube videos.

My absolute favorite crime podcast.

The show is well researched, and written very well, and the way he does it he really cares about the victims and the families, and in a lot of ways it affects him I like the way he tells the stories that are written for him and even stops when it gets really bad because he has a family. He has children and wife and every time he tells a story you can tell it. Affects him, and he cares immensely you will enjoy his commentary during the story because it’s refreshing honest. I really enjoy it I I like it when they really really care.

Hands down my favorite true crime show. Not only is it deeply entertaining during long drives and longer shifts, but Simon is a respectful and well-spoken host who doesn’t revel in the more gory and graphic details. Respect for the victims is important and this show is one of the only I’ve heard that actually respects that. Highly recommended!

I don’t think taking an amused and light-hearted tone while discussing extremely grisly murders and other crimes was the right way to go here. Too many jokes that aren’t funny, his narratives of the crimes are disorganized, and he talks so fast and allows himself to go on so many irrelevant tangents that he confuses himself and doesn’t have his facts straight.

Thank you to Simon and all of his talented writers and producers. I tune into your show regularly and eagerly await each new episode. I run an independent bookstore and your shows provide me with boredom-killing entertainment while I tend to my business. Recommendation: The unsolved disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit would make for a riveting episode and could help to spread the word about this tragic event and potentially attract useful leads in the case. The case remains unsolved, but many people are still interested in Jodi’s story and there have been many interesting developments in recent years.
