I was new to reading the Bible, I was a little scared and was hesitant. 320 days in, I can say this is one of the best years ever. It opened my heart to understand my faith journey and has brought on so much peace. I wish everyone would do this journey.

I did the full 365 days of this podcast last year, and I can honestly say that it changed my life. I want to do it again, but I am doing the Catechism in a Year now, and I want to do the Rosary in a Year next year. I want to actually have the Bible in front of me and read it while Fr. Mike is reading it. I learned so much about the Bible and what the Catholic Church teaches about it. I had read the Bible from cover to cover once before I did this podcast, but it was not nearly as fruitful. It’s a transformative experience!

I’m not Catholic, but have always been interested in world religions and decided perhaps I should understand my own Christianity more deeply. Made a New Year’s Eve resolution to read the entire Bible, even though it seemed like a daunting task. Just the pronunciation of biblical names alone would scare any casual reader away! Thank you Fr. Mike Schmitz for being an inspirational guide and my personal “hooked on phonics” narrator, I couldn’t have done it without YOU! I would have quit within a month like all my past NYE resolutions and felt like a failure. The bite size daily format (average 20mins) was an ideal fit for my schedule and I often listened TWICE to the same episode; however it is Fr. Mike’s UPLIFTING and positive tone of voice that kept me motivated to return consistently to this podcast. It’s the only one I’ve ever finished in its entirety. That is a testament to Fr. Mike’s humble and relatable delivery of God’s word. I felt like he was a long trusted friend that was having a personal conversation with me, rather than a lecturer speaking from the pulpit. Bible in a year presents the books of the Bible in a cohesive approach to understand the history, connections and meaning hidden within. Fr mikes interpretations and applications of the lessons to our life today is life changing. I especially enjoy the time period explanations and messianic checkpoints with Jeff Cavins.

This has become a part of my morning routine. Look forward to new daily episodes. Father Mike does great with his commentary after the readings to help me understand and bring my new knowledge together. Love this so much!! Thank you.

After following Fr. Mike through the Catechism In A Year I decided to enlist in the Bible In A Year and have enjoyed every minute. I’ve learned so much from the readings and Fr. I was raised as a Presbyterian and have been a devote church attender and Christian my whole life. I started listening to the Catechism in a Year at the beginning of 2023. By April, I committed to joining the Catholic Church. 2024 I’m listening to the Bible in a Year for the first time with Fr. Mike and listening to the Catechism in a Year again! I highly recommend both! I think that the Catechism of the Catholic Church should be required reading in all Protestant seminaries. It would be helpful for them to know what they separated from and what they are teaching too.

I truly love this podcast series. I have learned so much from Fr. Mike Schmitz’s words that accompany the readings. I am now at day 320 and looking forward to the remainder of the year. This has deepened my relationship with God. If you have been inspired to look into this podcast don’t hesitate to subscribe. There are some days that the Bible readings seem difficult but Fr Mike brings those to life as well.

Great interpretation of the Bible

I have only been listening for a short while but it has quickly become part of my daily routine. Fr. Mike Schmitz speaks clearly, with a radio voice (soothing voice), and he has a sense of humor. I LOVE this pod cast because I get to listen to the Bible while I am doing my chores and work…he also offers insight, inspiration, a small message at the end usually.

Absolutely a must listen. The entire Bible with explanation…so amazing. Father Mike is engaging, relatable, and so passionate. Highly recommend to all!!

I’ve started other Bible in a year plans in the past and have even finished a couple, but the understanding I have now has opened my eyes to a totally different Bible.
