A fortnightly horror audio drama. Spirit Box Radio is a cosy horror fiction podcast about a radio show for enthusiasts of all things arcane. The show has recently been taken over by Sam Enfield, a former postboy with no experience in the arcane arts, following the disappearance of the previous host. Sam soon discovers there are more than ghosts haunting the show, and finds himself amidst a mystery which threatens everything he knows about the world beyond his tiny basement broadcast studio, and maybe even himself. With a whole host of supporting characters from knife-wielding lesbians and truth-knowing lawyers to angry bog-witches and hot-coded florists, the world of SBR is brought to life by a cast of majority LGBTQ+ actors from across the world. Spirit Box Radio started airing in November 2020. It now has almost 100 episodes and won the The People's Choice Podcast Awards Best Fiction Podcast of 2021, and a finalist in the 2021 Audio Verse Awards, at which it also won Best Guest Performance.     A Spectacularly Spooky Time!
    Having just finished season 1, I cannot overstate my love for this show. It’s a well balanced mix of wholesome attempts at spooky radio from a ray of sunshine of a narrator and explorations of heavier, complex themes. The buildup to the overarching plot is very well done and intriguing- I love the place season 1 left off, and I’m incredibly excited to see where we go from here. Sam is a delight to listen to, and I love the other characters we’ve been introduced to so far (Rhytidia my beloved). The audio editing is wonderful, a well crafted balance between ambient sounds and music that perfectly fits the spooky vibes. Overall, I definitely recommend giving this show a listen!

    I Am In Love W/ Spirit Box Radio!
    How in the world can I have JUST discovered this series?! Too good to be true, I thought, as I put the first two episodes at the top of my queue - but instead I find that if I hadn’t bothered deep searching Keywords today, I’d still not know that this WONDERFUL supernatural-mystery-comedy even existed ~ It’s absolutely amazing.

    I love Sam
    Multiple narratives are layered in a way that's surprisingly easy to follow, and the writing is snappy and memorable. Sam's naive inexperience strikes just the right tone with the stories, which get more sinister and compelling the more you think about them. A must listen for Night Vale fans.

    The perfect way to build intrigue and mystery. The first few episodes are fascinating as you listen to Sam struggle to host spirit box radio, noting something strange about the young man, and then boom, you’re hooked by the mystery. Every episodes gets you comfortable with Sam and all of the other likable characters. As events unfold I can only describe the feeling of subtle curiosity, tinged with a growing dread as the season progresses.
