Where has this been all my life!?!
OMG! This show is awesome! Long time listener of Fraiser Cains “Weekly Space Hangout” which Moiya is frequent contributor and just heard about this podcast. As an avid sci-fi and fantasy reader and watcher I think about this all the time! This is great to get real scientific and cultural views on what it actually could be like. My only wish is that it was longer! Go Astro Mo!!!!

With a mix of science and imagination each episode sends the listener to far off worlds. Explore strange new worlds like the planet of ice squid, dancing party birds, and many more.

    Joyous Speculation!
This show has the feel of sitting down with a bunch of really smart friends and building something together. Each episode brings a bit of new science knowledge while keeping things high level enough to be entertaining. A ton of fun!

    Gets the creative juices flowing!
I discovered Exolore after starting to play D&D with my partner and friends. The interviews and world building exercises inspire me to try new things in games and to search out more approaches to creating environments for others. As an educator and manager, I also find tons of inspiration for my work life in these discussions. I heart this podcast!

    Marry Me, Moiya McTier
So I am actually very happily married, but Moiya is everything I want to be. Her voice is amazing, she’s obviously hella knowledgeable, I don’t know how she picks her guests but my god is she good at it, because I also instantly develop crushes on every single panel guest just by listening to them talk science to me. This is easily one of my new favorite podcasts. I’m just starting a grad program in history, but once I’m done I guess I’m gonna have to go get advanced degrees in folklore and astrophysics because Moiya LITERALLY HAS MY DREAM JOB. Keep doing awesome stuff, Moiya, I listened to all of your episodes way too fast!

    Quickly became a fav!
This podcast has definitely become one of my favorite podcasts for sure. As a person in STEM who is far too imaginative for some of my stick-in-the-mud colleges, this podcast is up my alley. It’s an incredibly creative view on science that challenges what we know about planets and biology and culture with certain stressors of environmental conditions that at the same time is wildly entertaining!

Science perfectly combined with creative worldbuilding
As someone who enjoys immersing herself in fantasy worlds while learning about the science behind our own world, finding out that there was a facts-based worldbuilding podcast made this a must-listen. I wasn't disappointed - in fact, I would say that the podcast perfectly combines my love of science and the imagination. I love hearing how experts across the sciences come together to thoughtfully propose new worlds and their inhabitants, and learning about the process of worldbuilding is really fascinating. I'm so glad to have found this podcast!

AMAZING!! It gives me HOPE! And my favorite podcast for sure :)
A month ago I gave up listening to podcasts or (trying) to read books that were supposed to cram my head full of things to make me "well-educated" but ultimately left me very unhappy. I learn a lot from this podcast, but above all I choose to listen because it always makes me smile. For an hour, I'm filled with wonder and happiness, and that carries me to other parts of my day filled with energy and inspiration I might not have found otherwise. Thank you for making me smile in wonder for an hour whenever I tune in!

Fantastic show for thinkers and dreamers
I started listening to Exolore a few months back because I love alternate history and worldbuilding. It’s casual, accessible, and yet expansive in the number of disciplines she manages to bring to bear through her own knowledge and guests. It gives me great ideas for how to approach writing fiction, worldbuilding for fun, or worldbuilding for RPGs.

    Science and imagination
Great podcast that merges science and imagination. We often think of life on other planets as being very similar to humans. I like that here there they build on the diversity we see in life on Earth and dream up what would work best on other planets.

    This is great
I recently started listening to this podcast, and I gave four stars because in the first episode, you asked us to come up with a name for the imaginary planet. I personally believe that the name would depend on the local language. Remember, there is a low chance of these imaginary creatures having a language very similar to ours. It depends on the vocal abilities of these imaginary creatures. Love the podcast though!!

    Nothing else like it
There’s no other podcast (or media of any kind) that I can think of that comes remotely close to what Exolore is doing. Live fictional worldbuilding with a diverse panel of scientists and experts? What other show makes you laugh, teaches you about fascinating fields, and tickles your creativity all at once? There’s something for everyone in this show. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Deserves the number of stars in the universe
This show absolutely rules. I saw ExoLore live on-stage a few times in New York way back before it was a podcast, and my only complaint then was that I couldn’t explain to anyone who wasn’t there with me why I wanted so badly to talk about what it would be like for the hypothetical explorers on a tidally locked planet trying to reach the parts of the planet that point directly at/away from their star, or the idea that the inhabitants of a planet of sentient plants (The Planet of the Grapes) might try to describe a human poem to other plants by the sound of their leaves rustling in the wind in the same way that a human poet might try to convey the experience of listening to leaves rustle in the wind to other humans by writing a poem about it. Now I can just insist that they listen to ExoLore in podcast form so we can get real scientifically exo-stential. Subscribe and listen ASAP!
