chaosdonkey87Might have changed everything for meThis podcast is simultaneously really interesting to listen to and really well backed up and has some really credible experts. It’s hard to make a podcast that’s detailed enough to be useful to professionals and uses language that’s largely accessible to the public. And for me it may have changed my life. The episode “Sleep Disorders in Women” described exactly my situation and tipped me off about what I needed to talk to my doctor about to figure out why I wasn’t getting a clear diagnosis for my sleep problems. I haven’t started treatment but between that and other episodes, I’m going into my next appointment armed with very credible evidence to suggest a different approach. I’m already so grateful to understand more and if this helps even a little… well, like I said, this podcast will have changed my life, no exaggeration.

stefanoaduGreat podcast!!Great tool for us sleep providers. Excellent and relevant topics, great host, and great guests. My only issue is the lag I hear in some of the episodes.

AnnnndreeaDisappointingThe episode on disparities in healthcare was disappointing, at best. Dr. Johnson insinuated an insomnia questionnaire was racist because of a cartoon of a slave sleeping written back in the days of slavery, which seems like a stretch. There was no recommendation for how to resolve that issue, either. She also recommended not inferring that black and brown communities be referred to as low income and continued to do just that for the entire duration of the episode. I typically really enjoy this podcast, but I felt I took nothing away from the speaker on this particular episode.

Edizzle05The multiple causes of HypoventilationThe breakdown at the end of the podcast discussing different physiological causes for hypoventilation and treatments is great for Technologists to understand titration goals and guidelines that stretch further than treating only upper airway obstructions.
