Why do I need a usernameNo sources or fact checking. This podcast is just as bad as the documentaries they criticize.Ive listened to 5/6 episodes of this podcast so far and all they offer are personal rebuttals and anecdotes for whatever tangent they're on. They go off topic constantly which makes you forget that they're trying to debunk a documentary. Sad to see something as biassed and unscientific from two people who are professionals in their field.

July 926A little too much joking aroundI enjoy the banter, but at some point you have got to present some information. I’m only on the first episode so I’m hoping it gets better.

SgthjjjjWorse than the documentaries they critiqueUnfortunately there is no substance to the episodes in this podcast. They are critical of whatever they talk about just for the sake of being critical. They do not strive to present an unbiased review of the science behind the topic. I checked out this podcast because of a recommendation from The NY Times- I can’t believe it got recommended there. Don’t waste your time, there are other podcasts out there that represent the science in a clear unbiased way.

janelbeeYessssSo real so honest!! I am so happy to have found this podcast especially at the start of my non-dieting journey!! Love everything about this podcast but most of all, the humor 🥰

KhavasutraSome valuable information AND also really judgmental.I had started listening because PIxie Turner had been on a podcast talking about dieting and diet culture and how harmful it is. They have provided some valuable links and even assisted in me loosening my thoughts around bariatric surgery. I like having my world view shifted with facts. That being said they are very judgmental around some of the woo woo works of the wellness community. I know the wellness community is full of toxic ideologies and grifters, there are also very valuable people in it. I’m currently trying to get through their episode about energy work. Whether it’s placebo or not what matters is if it works for people and frankly the judgemental comments are increasing and it’s turning me off. I’m unsure of their relationships to NDs in their region of the world but one of the first doctors to treat my body with a weight neutral approach was an ND and she absolutely did blood work to see what was going on with my body. She never prescribed me odd herbs. I’m not saying all of them are like that, just like all MDs are going to shame me about my size, they are using a broad brush with significant lack of compassion. Not that they need to be compassionate, I just prefer to listen to folks that are.

AmandasignoriCalorie and macro talkAlthough I really like the purpose of this show, I would like to suggest to the hosts that they avoid talking about calories. As someone recovering from an ED, I felt triggered by their discussion about weight gain and its correlation to eating macronutrients and calories in excess. I know it has been specified that the calorie process is not simple, but it is still mentioned in a way that I did not find helpful.

MarchRhappreciate all the informationLove your podcast. so appreciate all the information and perspective. it has given me and my teens endless hours of good discussions about health nutrition and digging deeper into claims so called experts make. thank you! Just one gripe: every episode you start by meaning how you suffer through these, and I get it these documentaries are preposterous. but really, you’re making a decision to watch so you can present real information, no one has a gun to your head so please stop complaining about it. you have found a great spot to share real information, stop with the “I don’t want to do this” because if you guys don’t really want to do this then, while I would miss you both a lot, please don’t do it.

hlhoughLove your podcastI truly appreciate the focus on science (especially the show notes!) and how you keep it lighthearted and funny!

Kara!! :]The perfect mix of science and sarcasm!I’ve never been able to consistently come back to a podcast week after week, until now! In Bad Taste is not only hilarious but straight-forward and full of science. It’s everything I could want! I am a registered dietitian so I come across people asking my opinion about these “documentaries” and fad diets all the time; it’ll be great to be able to direct them here.
-
lalabriniMuch needed! We absolutely need more people like this screaming from the rooftops about how ridiculously biased these “documentaries are”. The huge amount of swearing not really necessary really in my opinion though... but if that doesn’t bother you definitely worth the listen!
-
Irene_MejiaBecause the misinformation has gotta stop!Yes, yes and yes! Great job in busting all of these myths (and in the funniest way). It doesn’t mean that any of the diets are inherently wrong, if you want to be vegan or follow a keto, paleo, raw diet.. do whatever makes you happy. But please, oh please, do not base your beliefs on “expert opinion” or Netflix documentaries!
