dana_leighMy favourite podcast of all timeI treasure this podcast and feel deep, heart-sourced gratitude for Africa’s courage, wisdom, voice, and work in the world. Over the past few years especially, Africa has helped me be more fearless and stand firm in what I believe. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

kevinsfreeWords of wisdom from a loving friendAfrica, your kind and thoughtful insights have given me peace. Your discussions on shame have helped me confront my own. I so deeply admire your boldness, hunger for life and the pursuit of your authentic self. Cheers from Oklahoma .

NbbccA Refreshing PerspectiveJust discovered Africa and love what she says. She challenges her listeners to be authentically who they are. This allows us an alternative to the two untenable, unlivable, extremes being pushed on us by our cultures and institutions - to not be afraid to be who we are, free from fear of being placed in dehumanizing groups, being told who we must be, and being cancelled.

scbaldwin13Beyond the Self is beyond incredibleEvery episode of this show has something for everyone to learn from and something to take away that changes your perspective. Africa is such a joy to listen to and has an amazing energy. It’s like she’s your best friend who’s lived and learned and is just trying to convey her life lessons to you in the most loving but honest and straightforward way. I’ve never been a big fan of therapy or the like, but Africa’s approach is so warm and easy to follow, and she helps you understand why these concepts and ideas she presents are worthy of considering. The number of times I’ve had an epiphany listening to this show is too many to count, not to mention laugh, cry, yell in agreement, head nod vigorously, etc. If you’re reading this and I know you are, I love you Africa and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you and this show! ❤️

ccbomarProlificDear Lord you are prolific. I cannot even handle how potent Episode 48 was. So validating to hear you articulate the reality of parting ways with someone not because of anything one or the other did “wrong” but because of a growing and increasingly undeniable awareness of an incompatibility. Thank you for this raw and real truth. It was a balm and a bomb.

iluvgelpensTo Africa BrookeThank you for changing my life <3
-
Riskitall14Refreshing & CaptivatingShe peels away the whole onion and goes thoughtfully deep into important universal topics. Straight talk. Love the super cute laughs that must come out unconsciously every few minutes. Thanks for the real moments.
-

kitty_walkerOne of a kindI appreciate the amount of thoughtfulness, humor, and willingness to go into the darkness with compassion and curiosity. Africa has a way of being practical and engaging, this podcast has deeply changed my thinking and made me take myself less seriously in the process of change. I cycle through the same episodes every once in a while because they hit different every time
-
Hye SeaAh mazinggggThis is definitely one of my favorite podcasts to regularly listen to. I love how raw each episode feels and the fact that it doesn’t have that standard podcasty jingle. It feels like I’m listening in on a very insightful convo with the homie. Love these podcasts for you, Africa ✨

MorganMotzAfrica is a thought(ful) leaderAfrica is not only intelligent and wise, she is straightforward and delivers invaluable insight over and over again. What a joy to learn from her.
-
Romance de la pena negraEntitled & FragileAfrica’s entire message is in support of the fragile egos of the celebrity/influencer IG friends she fawns over. She gives them tacit permission to be horrible people (ex: Hilaria Baldwin) and distance themselves from the harm they cause. This podcast is a loop of entitled people telling each other that those who speak truth to power are “haters & bullies” and that they are above accountability.
-
thobi_mThank You!I often choose a word for the year to be my guide and bearing to keep myself accountable to my growth. My word for the year is courage, and specifically, the courage to live more honestly the many part of me that seen so internally consistent but doesn’t match any existing systems of thinking I see in the world (but I always witness in private conversation with people across the board). I haven’t heard this frustrated better articulated than in your episode about self-sensorship. This podcast is giving me language to unfrustrate myself as I learn more about myself and come face to face with my incredibly complex humanity that doesn’t fall into the many false binaries that are presented as reality. It feels like a tool for freedom. I’m grateful :))

Jazzy Ja BooConsciousness ExpandingI have become smarter, more aware, more authentic, more whole because of this podcast. If I had to choose one pod to listen to for the rest of eternity, it would be this one. Deep bows.

fragileflowerFor Free ThinkersAfrica is refreshing. She so beautifully addressed the nuances of today’s hot topics. She is not interested in following the crowd. You will inevitably learn from listening to this podcast.

Dani & GracieA treasure!!!Soothing yet challenging, comforting yet humbling, encouraging yet audacious, straightforward yet gentle. Africa draws me in with how authentic and honest she is in the way she expresses the truth about herself and the truth about the topics of discussion/ insights. She’ll push you to take responsibility for yourself, while at the same time recognizing how you are part of the society. The content is clearly structured and both thoughtful and practical. Thank you Africa for putting this out. Keep flourishing!
-

SchleherThe female Eckert Tolle in a simple understandable contextI have just discovered this incredible woman Africa Brooke, who I have gotten more out of listening to than Eckert Tolle. She brings the philosophies of the stoics, as well as our modern day healing therapists and philosophers to me in a format I find incredibly enlightening and entertaining, and so easy to digest and assimilate into my life. Love, love, love this brilliant and articulate podcaster, and blessed to have found her after she was on the Dhru Purohit podcast recently. I can't wait to listen to all the episodes!!
-
Sliz6Good content, so-so formatI like hearing Africa’s ideas. But the podcast sometimes feels too much like a blog or ig post or newsletter being read to me. I’m not sure the point of it being in audio format. Maybe convenience for folks listening on commutes or something? I wish there was a little more variation (a guest, a special segment, or something) to break up the content a little and take advantage of the audio format. After listening for 10-15 minutes, it feels like I get the point of the episode and her voice begins to fade to the background. This might be a problem with my own attention span or preferences, so I still recommend giving it a shot yourself.
-
BEautifullyUnwindingMeReturning to internal wisdom. 💚Grateful to have come across Africa’s powerful voice and presence guiding us all back into our internal wisdom.

keerthekeeksLoveThis podcast soothes my soul. Africa speaks so authentic, and also is sweet and funny. She brings a positive light into the world.
-
AElizabethGraceRefreshingAfrica’s authentic and intentional conversation is so refreshing! She is clearly intelligent, and yet her humility and ability to have open dialogue without the need for agreement makes her relatable , and is much needed in this day and age. She strikes a delicate balance between sharing enough of her personal life to make you feel close, while also not over-sharing in a way that dishonors healthy boundaries. This is my new favorite podcast!
-
Wildioteque PiattoSimply the bestAfrica Brooke is as good as it gets. My favorite cultural voice and reflection in these wild days. She is an expander that encourages curiosity and intentional empowered action. I don’t care to listen to much cultural media these days… but I super appreciate the open-heartedness of her lens. I have shared w all my friends and you should too!!!
