Ashleeyniicole12Love their voices lolI used to fall asleep to Mr Ballen every night but completely finished all of his content. I had trouble finding other pod casts to fall asleep to until I found Lights out. Ik I’m weird for falling asleep to creepy stories but 🤷♀️

Ashlyn1211No complaintsI was surprised at the negative reviews about not liking the sidebar convos and banter. To me, that’s what makes a lot of these topics easier to listen to. Maybe it’s my adhd though. If you’re someone that’s mind just moves in a straight line it’d be bothersome, I suppose? I definitely don’t get the “bro-y” or “drunk or high” vibes a some of yall are talking about either lol. Anyway, I love this podcast. The sexual ghost encounters episode was especially hilarious 😂

mysterymachJust when you think you've found all the good ones.......Here comes another one. I've been listening to pods for over a decade and only occasionally venture into the paranormal podscape anymore. Too many substandard pods, often with really bad humor, frat-boy antics and other disrespectfulness I find really off-putting in a paranormal context. Ghost Story Guys is my gold-standard- great hosts and great people. This is a younger version of that. The guys are really thoughtful, good voices, mellow guys and I really find that refreshing. And proper research is done on these subjects, with great deep dives. I found the Cropsy episode totally engaging and very respectful. I look forward to hearing more, and I applaud you for the quality you bring to the genre. It is desperately needed.

Dark&StormyNightGreat work, great deliveryThoroughly enjoyed listening to the the Fox Hollow Farm episode. Thanks for highlighting that docuseries. Will definitely check it out.
-
Galaxy.gamerDo not listen to the one star comments, this is the best podcast I’ve heard thus far👆🏻
-
charcarlatJust found these guysGood stuff! I’ve been desperately looking for a good show to follow. I’m picky about vocal delivery… and these guys check all the boxes. They’re so chill. NO DRAMA. NO exaggerated voices. It’s like just hanging out with two cool dudes. I just happened upon them by chance while on YouTube, so I did more research, and fortunately I was able to find them on a podcast cuz I don’t really do YouTube. They’re my new go-to podcast for stress relief in the evening (after teaching 162 high school teenagers). GOOD JOB GENTLEMEN! Keep it up.

Smilez187One of the best !The ghost sexual encounters had me cracking up at work so much. Thanks guy for the amazing work . I love it so much . I just found this thru mile higher and this has turned into one of my fav podcasts. I listen to a few from your collection daily . Continue the amazing work.

Jperz615Used to be great.I’ve been listening to this podcast since the first episode. Always enjoyed it very much. But for the last few episodes the guys are consistently laughing, joking, and going off on irrelevant tangents during these sensitive and serious cases. This podcast is no longer engaging and very bro-ey. So disappointing.
-
LeanabananaaaThe best! You guys should do a podcast about the asylum in Clovis, ca that they tore down!
-
Ai Afraid 33What is this??Terrible Wendigo story, bleeding heart story

Im better than you!!!!!!!Fantastic showI love this show, it’s quickly become one of my favorite podcasts!

YourMomIsAlwaysRightYou can’t be seriousYou weren’t aware that women pre-MeToo were sexually assaulted (from unwanted comments to rape and everything in between) on a regular basis? And told to just be quiet about it, to forget it. Mostly because we were going to ultimately be blamed for the behavior of men. We spent so much time “asking for it”after all. Tempting men with how high our hems were, how much cleavage we showed. Or the smiles we gave them. The same ones that men were so quick to demand. Stop with the shock and awe, nobody knows better than us. You needed to do your research before recording this episode. It was almost laughable. Then you could have told the story without the unnecessary commentary. We are all too aware of how it was, and even more aware of how far we have to go. Do better before telling us how you just can’t believe it happened. It still is.
-
Zen2319Love!Literally listening to you for 10+hours a day while I work! Love how you guys explain everything and do so much research
-
btykodiYes but…..I am listening to the episode on James Saville.. How can you be so naive? Please review the cultural context and realize that men thought it normal. (Gen x experience) Women (like the nurse) Why didn’t they report it? Because they wouldn’t believed at all. And then there was retribution, she would have lost her job. I hope you would have done something different, but I you probably wouldn’t have.

Ahead30Good stories to many adsI love the podcast and the stories. Like many things it has most that I find interesting but there are some that aren’t my taste. No issues with that as it’s expected in a long running podcast. The one thing I dislike is the sporadic placement of some of the ads. They will be in the middle of explaining something then bam an ad or three. I don’t like having to stop what I’m doing to constantly skip over ads just to listen to the information. I wish it was all ads at the beginning before the episode starts and all ads at the end. Stop putting them in the middle of the episode at random places
-
Devine Ms DGreat!I love this shop. I just found it, and I’m starting a binge. The storytelling is great and their voices are as well. I like the choice of stories, It doesn’t feel like the same old same old. I hope they managed to stay away from any political comments or negativity that has ruined so many other podcasts.
-
Brown DahliaI used to like itThis podcast used to be good now it’s just trash! The guys sound like the are high or drunk out of their minds and it gets really tiring to listen to them. They ramble and I get so lost so I decided to stop listening
-
JrjMumSatanic PanicMy dudes, the Satanic Panic didn’t start until the 80’s. I love your show, but this bothered me so bad when you kept stating that the early 70’s was the height of the Satanic Panic. That is all. Peace.
-
JWSqwaAn Exceptional Podcast!!!I absolutely love this podcast and have from the first episode. I appreciate the variety of topics, the obvious commitment they put into every episode, and how well they gel with each other. Keep up the amazing job Josh, Austin, Daniel and team!!!
-
puppermomWish I could see the episode descriptionsI listen to a lot of true crime podcasts and recently found this one. From the first few that I’ve listen to they’re really interesting and informative, especially the Texas killing fields episode. With that being said, I can’t read the description on any of the episodes in Apple Podcasts and that is kind of important when trying to determine what episode to listen to. Please fix this guys! They show on Spotify but I don’t use that platform and I can’t be the only one.
-
SibitronKind wordsI love this podcast! I’m a picky podcast consumer and I can safely say that this is in my top 10. Keep up the good work.
-
teybby16CommercialsI LOVE this podcast and the topics picked, it’s the commercials and their placement. in the most recent episode especially they were discussing the de*th penalty, last meals, and crimes committed on the victims and then not even a few seconds later they’re advertising a weight loss program or meal prep plans. i just feel it is insensitive in general to make such heavy content and then mid conversation advertise. if they just did all of the ads at the beginning or the end or just anywhere that’s not mid intense conversation.
-
EndlessPlaneGET ON WITH IT!Too much sidebarring. Get to the topic, that’s why I’m listening. Take out the meaningless chit chat and you have about 15 minutes worth of the topic you’re trying to hear about. GET ON WITH IT!
-
Jcable0Interesting storiesThe stories themselves are very interesting but they ruin them with unnecessary banter. They like to restate what they just told you a lot and then repeatedly state the obvious like “that’s horrible” over and over again. Yea we know. Rarely is the extra talking adding anything of value except to bloat the run time of each episode
-
time2jiggleSpectacular!!!I LOVE your podcast! I work outside, mostly at night and this podcast gives me such a spooky good vibe when I listen while at work. Please keep making more episodes. I am such a fan!
-
MAK1088Funniest alien abductionI’m dying laughing 🤣 I loved this episode and love when yall gave guests like this guy.
-
tbbpolsenTop tier podcasts for all things weird.I absolutely love that there’s a podcast devoted to all the “weird” things I love… paranormal, true crime, aliens, cryptids… all of it, wrapped into one show. Cannot recommend more.
-
MaureenC1970These 2 Murderers episodeFirst off I wanna say I love the show. All the guys obviously do their research & tell each story very well & they keep your interest. Now to this episode….listening to those 2 kids talking to each other sound like Beavis & Butthead.
-
Midwesterner12345Halloween episodeI do enjoy the show guys, but the Halloween episode was insanely cringeworthy. You had an opportunity to do an actually special Halloween episode and missed the bar in a major way.
-
UhericaWhat happened to the true crime?Loved this podcast when it was mostly about true crime. Now it’s about ghost and haunted places. Cool but not really my thing anymore. Sound quality is good and it shot well.
-
carleyc23Zak Bagan episodeI love lights out podcast… but the Zak Bagan episode was a bit too much. I had to fast forward through a majority of it as the “acting” the role play was just horrible and boring. Still giving the podcast as a whole a 4 star review but this episode was not it.
-
MeximoBLAH BLAH BLAHAwesome topics, but RUINED by bantering about randomness and personal anecdotes no one cares about. These guys just go on and on and on and on. By the time they get back to the subject I’m already checked out. Terrible.
-
Prime time 2102Love/hateThese dudes are awesome but must say the latest Warren files I just can’t do it the story is interesting if told correctly and mention your discrepancies after the story is told but your making my decision bias with the inability to stay on task … basically what I’m saying is it sounds like two stoners goofing off
-
Kenny RpkA few good episodesThis pod had a few good episodes, but now it’s gotten boring. The hosts don’t bring a lot to the table either.
-
tarr0011Used to be my go-to. Now it’s too longY’all are awesome- love this show and Mike Higher. But in both cases, I feel the commentary has become the bulk of the show whereas facts used to be the focus. I love your opinions, but I’m more coming for weird, scary, creepy or bizarre true crime stories, so you opinions should maybe be 1/4 of the show, not 3/4 of the show. That’s how it used to be! Maybe have extended episodes for those who do want that? But I find myself with more and more episodes marked “not listened,” and this NEVER would have happened a year ago. Austin is awesome, btw, I’m not pinning this on him at all. The change happened probably in the last 6 months for both shows. I’m sure it helps your analytics and YouTube probably even more so. But you’re losing some listens from me now and I never thought that would happen. Regardless, keep it up. I still recommend some older episodes to friends and family!

Erick12442Podcasts or Video-casts? Pick a Lane Already! This used to be one of my favorite podcasts, but it's honestly gone downhill. I’ve been a loyal listener for years, but the last few episodes? Painful. I use the Podcasts app (yes, for *listening*), but now they’re obsessed with these long videos. I get that people watch on YouTube, but it’s a podcast, not a video show. They used to actually describe the clips, but now? Nope, they just assume everyone’s watching and leave listeners in the dark. These videos drag on forever, and I have no clue what’s happening, but apparently, it’s ‘relevant.’ It’s honestly lazy and frustrating that they’re going this route. Like, does no one in their circle see the issue? Videos on a podcast? Come on.

q_44Good content; uninformed on lawWanted to like this show & I did …until they started talking about the law. I hope listeners are more educated than the hosts on topics such as Constitutional searches, the evolution of law enforcement responses to active shooter events, & the checks & balances which exist in the country.
-
SweetChelle01Very goodVery good horror podcast. I just started listening to it and listen to Cropsey and they provided all kinds of links to the Cropsey documentary and the missing children and it was very well researched. Keep up the good work guys and I also love that you go straight to the point and don’t feel the podcast with all kinds of conversation or jokes that drives me crazy
-
KC NormanDrivelTwo imbeciles rambling about nonsense. Utter trash and not good trash at that.
-
sweet baby dCalm, straightforward researchI appreciate these guys for their straightforward and interesting stories to tell. Too many podcasts feature hosts who fill the time snickering at inside jokes, and self-absorbed twaddle. It's exhausting. Thanks guys, for an always refreshing format and delivery.
-
Jesse AVMartian CandyFell in love with the podcast and the people behind it. Recently decided to check out extract labs and decided to buy something for the love of the podcast.
-
drgcv* gfgfgcgjust amazingsee, I’m not a big fan of this stuff but if it’s THESE guys I’m hooked. five star rating👍
-
Kraig Emery TubbsThis show used to be goodThis show used to be good when it was just the two brothers, because you actually stuck to the story and topic at hand. Now it sounds like a bunch of stoners sitting around talking in tangents and maybe mentioning the topic a few times. Literally the latest episode about a priest killing a nun you started talking about T-Rex’s, like I try to skip past all that and it will be like 15 min of an episode is a rant about something completely off topic. And be a bit more educated on the stuff you are talking about, specifically the pronunciation of peoples names and places. It literally now sounds like the producer does all the research and then has to teach the host basic things throughout the episode. I’m unliking this podcast and never listening again
-
NolanJAUgh.Gave it a shot. First listen was on the Priest case. Essentially just a bashing of Catholicism with a story in between. Hey, guys, let’s hear you talk like that about other religions like Muslims. You wouldn’t dare. Too woke for me.
-
333Paranorma8/30/24 episodeThis episode starts slowly, however, it gains momentum with the sincere & intelligent questions asked by the hosts, & the guest’s (PsychicLauryn) interesting & honest responses. Really enjoyed it as it clarified my current belief that “souls” aren’t as “individualized” as most people assume. The hosts are doing well at producing a good podcast.
-
jahnoraSide trackedThe show is great but the content side tracking and intolerable, please spend more time on the topic of the episode, than the side bar conversations…
-
Katya&SalemGreat show!I came over to this show from Mile Higher. Really glad I did! I also love the support for Detroit/Hamtramck! ❤️❤️❤️
-
ABCStrohmGood PodcastLike the topics from true crime to paranormal. Guys do a great job with coverage, detail, and opinions. Sometimes I feel like it’s a bit slow and monotone, but it’s getting better.
-
Loor91The ramblingsThe topics are really interesting but the constant rambling and monotone of the host just made this unlistenable as many times as I tried.
-
ECM9918Love this showEspecially the paranormal episodes!
