    One of my favorites!
I listen to many history podcasts, but this one came recommended by a friend. At first I was hesitant, as I have never found ancient history interesting. This podcast changed that! Now I actively look for updates as new research comes out and watch documentaries to learn more. I love that I have a renewed interest in (and appreciation for) history! I’m grateful to the hosts for putting the podcast together and was so excited to see they are back from a break. I wanted to add a review to share my appreciation for the work that goes into this show.

    Lazy and pointless
This isn’t really a history podcast, because nobody involved knows the first thing about any of the historical topics discussed. Vacuous, slapdash, and hopelessly dumb, the show is a waste of time—for hosts and listeners alike. Skip this podcast and go for another one that’s reliable, substantive, and researched with actual books and primary sources. Attempts at being witty—no matter how much they fail—do not generate enough laughter to compensate for this knowledge vacuum.

    Can’t do it
The thing about a history podcast is all credibility is lost when you can’t pronounce the names of things, people, places, that would have taken 2 seconds to look up. I’m not looking for a deep dive into anything here, I expect them to take some liberties or make some mistakes, but can’t take this seriously when the simplest things to check/research are incorrect yet spoken with incredible confidence.

Ich bin Nora, I speak okay Amerika. So forgive. Think that haters have nothing good to do, so they mean. #historyforweridos ❤️❤️❤️🇩🇪❤️

    Too much chitchat
They spend too much time chatting with each other and don’t actually keep a train of thought. I get they are trying to be funny and chatty but they need to keep a follow through for the information they are sharing. It sounds like a college podcast. It’s more about them than the audience clearly.

    April 8 episode
The 502 room the nurses died in is also the area code for Louisville. I live about 30 minutes from Waverly.

    It’s fine
Meh. I love history myself but even I found the episodes hard to be interested in. The episodes don’t feel the most well researched. They talk about Wikipedia a lot. Having a degree in archaeology it’s pretty well known in the history field that real sources do not come from Wikipedia. Find some scholarly databases instead. I started at the beginning and gosh darn there is so much about Rome. Just make a Rome podcast if you want to talk about it that much. I don’t particularly care for Roman history tho. The ladies voice is very soothing too.

It really feels like Mom and Dad are in the room
New listener starting off with the Mary Celeste episode. I can imagine it can be difficult working with your spouse all the time, and feel like I’m picking up on an awkward tension between the two of them that I have never noticed in a podcast before… with her often kurt replies, if feels like he’s going to get yelled at later for his unnecessary additions/interruptions lol. Also have to kind of agree with another reviewer who said it sounds like someone reading a wiki article, or maybe had AI generate the content…actually, that’s a great idea, maybe I should start a podcast 🤔 Anywho, the hostess’ voice is so nice to listen to so I’m going to finish this episode, so far it’s nice, come to think of it, the tension might even add to it lol.

    Extremely poor research
Lots of gaps, surprising amount of straight up errors.

    Great podcast
Really enjoy history of things I had never even thought of researching. They make history fun and interesting. Love their humor and details.

    Cute couple
A bit disappointed that the Joan of Arc episodes were so negative and off putting. It seemed like the creators have quite a beef with Christianity but might not really know what the Bible actually says. I had enjoyed quite a few episodes but just can’t anymore. But hey it’s their show and they can say what they want! They are a cute couple.

    Couple Goals
These two are amazing. I enjoy the back and forth between them. The amount of research that goes into each episode is amazing. Every story is entertaining and informative. I feel like an instant expert on every topic they discuss.

    Fun but too quiet
This is a fun show, interesting and entertaining, and I’ve enjoyed the stories each time I’ve listened. Unfortunately, the audio quality is well below modern standards. The volume level is noticeably lower than every other podcast I subscribe to, and the hosts sound like they’re sitting at the kitchen table with a single microphone between them (and not very close, at that). The sort of intimacy and immediacy that you expect is simply not there. With some better sound production, this could be a hit show (it’s already got lots of fans), but I’ll never get truly hooked or be excited to share episodes with my students and colleagues until it sounds more polished and professional.

    Blow my ears out!
Purely a technical review. The sound level between the podcast and the ads is insane. I listened on Spotify. Hopefully y’all can sort that out. Had to turn up the podcast to 80% and then when the ad starts I had to rip out my headphones.

    Get to the Punchline?
Please leave out cutting each other off with “wows” and unnecessary banter. We can’t get through a few sentences without digressing from the story. Great content; I just wish I could get through parts of the story without interruptions.

    AMAZING
I love all the research and thought that goes into each episode. I’m always looking forward to each Monday, not knowing the topic but knowing that it will be interesting and humorous. This podcast has brought me much laughter and joy. Would definitely recommend. 7/5.

    Love this show!
I love history and I especially love quirky, less known little stories that take you down weird little history rabbit holes. This podcast satisfies my curiosity and the hosts are so much fun to listen to because you can tell they are having just as much fun with the stories as we are listening to them.
  • her half of history
    fun and conversational
I love how many women's stories are included! Way more than most general history podcasts. Also glad you are upfront about your sources.

    A must for weirdos everywhere
I love this podcast! You guys make history so accessible and fun and you’re such a power couple. I would love to hear more about Asian American history events. You guys said that Black history isn’t talked about enough in history classes, but Asian American history is lucky if it’s even mentioned. The murder of Vincent Chin would be an awesome episode! Thanks for all you do! 谢谢!

    Listening to Wikipedia
It feels like I’m listening to someone reading a Wikipedia article. This is especially when they read a piece and then say “they had to pay 3 million ecus.. I don’t know what an ecu is”. You are writing the show, look that stuff up!!! Or don’t talk about it, OR say you’re just reading someone else’s information, and admit you’re too lazy to actually do research.

    I LOVE this podcast
Honestly, I cannot go to sleep without this podcast on 😜 they tell me things I’ve never even know about, with added humor that never makes me stop laughing. My fave episode is the one about Elizabeth Bathory. That one was so cool. I hope u guys make more cool episodes in the future 😉 I luv the ones that we have to try to solve mysteries from history like the Dancing a plague one and the Green Children 🤪

    What’s up weirdos
I love this podcast. They are informative without being arrogant. They make me laugh every single time. And I think I learn something new every podcast. They also put stuff in terms that a non historian but history lover can understand. In short they are some of my favorite people to listen too (which considering I don’t know them in person might be weird)

    New Favorite
History for Weirdos is really really fun and entertaining! I really love Stephanie and Andrew’s delivery and give and take with one another. I’m pretty picky about the type of sound/vibe I get from podcasts and I really really love this one. I binged all the episodes in less than a week. Thank you guys for the effort you put into this!!!
