beaviss420AwesomeThey are great but maybe less making white peoples feel bad. There are a lot of positive things to cover.

Barbara KellmerSally the narrator is so goodWhat a mistake by the history channel to have canceled this show when it has a talent like Sally narrating. Luckily someone brought it back. The research and presentation are top notch, but I’m always a bit disappointed when there is a guest narrator. They are good but Sally is great. Thanks

BrittyBHBring back the old format!I miss the old format before they rebooted this show! The combination of scripted narration and interview excerpts gave the show a quick pace, and made every story compelling. The ticking sound effect gave a sense of suspense and urgency to every episode. Even though many stories were unfamiliar to me or from segments of history I didn’t think I was interested in, I found myself captivated by the storytelling. Now with the long interview format, I get bored and stop listening halfway through. The show doesn’t give me a reason to be interested anymore.

I'm just a listener.I always look forward to the new episode but ….Few people understand how much work goes into each show. You present each show to the listener on a professional level. My favorite is -The last regular day in Pompeii. But sometimes you upset me. The episode about "Two fathers and one fight" is of course funny and nevertheless scary for the future. Funny because it is about the church... and scary for the future because all moral and ethical standards simply disappear.

GJSiP2Japan’s First MLB Player Gets Pulled From The GameI love all your podcasts and am so glad you have returned with new weekly content! This particular one about Masanori Murakami was exceptional. I knew about Murakami-San, but had no idea what all he went through or that he really wanted to play in America. Thanks for another great show!
-
capturinglifeChanged formatWe absolutely this podcast but it’s a bit different since it came back. It’s not quite the same format of storytelling. Hope it gets back to the way it was. Really disappointed to hear that Sally won’t be narrating some of the episodes now.

Anders_91FINALLY it’s back!I am so excited to see there’s a new episode. Even though I thoroughly enjoy learning about history, some podcasts can be extremely dry and hard to listen to. So thank you (everyone at history this week) for choosing interesting events and people, but also making it enjoyable.

Sam the sky witchInformative but funI love this podcast. It’s such an easy listen and has become one of my go to podcasts for work and roadtrips. I love how there are so many different eras of history and they focus on topics that are less talked about.

ImbehindyoulmaoDo yourself a favor... TREAT yourself to this podcastThis podcast can be summed up in 3 words: Entertaining, eclectic, educational. Entertaining above all else. At no point, regardless of the topic, will you be bored. From Sally’s voice/inflection/passion, to the well-informed and enthusiastic guests, you are immediately engrossed. It feels like a warm, comfortable, story time around the campfire every week. The content is so interesting! Eclectic in how many topics it covers. Some topics will, by necessity, be more interesting than others based off of your interests and knowledge. However, you are bound to learn something new, and because it is so entertaining, even if you didn’t know you were interested in a given topic, you WILL BE after hearing the show! You will never think, “oh, we’re hearing about THAT again” because rather than generalities, it focuses on very specific events. Due to this focus on specific events, you will be an educated, better informed, human. They never retread the same, tired, general topics of World War II, or this, or that, which you studied in school, and watched a documentary, and saw a movie... it is FRESH information about various topics spanning hundreds of years, and will make your brain happy :D Most important of all, it effortlessly blends all these elements together, and properly represents what history is all about. Telling OUR story, the story of humanity, imperfect creatures with hopes, desires, and complex motivations. History should NEVER be rote, cold, and treated as though it were a documentation of sterile facts in a vacuum, detached from the very people and world that history is supposed to give a voice.

StraightironCannot talk reconstruction without GrantCannot talk about reconstruction without bringing up Ulysses S Grant’s passage of the 15th Amendment and creation of the Justice Department to wage war against the first Klan who he defeated. Grant’s entire cabinet went to the capital to introduce the Ku Klux Klan of 1871. This war against the Klan was very real and Grant defeated this Klan which was the size of the confederate army. He was the first Civil Rights President. (Cancelled by Lost Cause propaganda)
