Brimstone Valley Mall

224

The year is 1999. Lurking somewhere between Hot Topic and the food court, five misfit demons from Hell kill time inciting sin in a suburban shopping mall. When the lead singer of their band goes mysteriously missing, the demons only have two weeks to find him before they play the biggest gig of the millenium - or face the wrath of Satan herself.

    Hilarious! Great listen!
Have listened to the two seasons twice and thoroughly enjoyed both trips to the Brimstone Valley Mall. Goths at Hot Topic remnd me of going to the mall when I was a teen, but I never knew about the infestation of demons at the food court.

Funny, high quality, and professional quality
This is an EXTREMELY well made, well produced, well acted production! Funny, witty, and engaging. The characters are well written, the acting is dynamic and believable, the script has depth and the cast and crew do an excellent job bringing this to life. This truly has been enjoyable to listen to and I genuinely hope they continue.

    Fantastic
This show is simply fantastic. The world building, acting, sound effects, and character development is of a quality that is rare. One of my favorites and I am looking forward to season two 😁😈

I honestly couldn’t decide if hated or loved it
This is a weirdly great podcast. And I both loved and hated it. Was also slightly confused throughout, but that’s beside the point. Caravan is more my style

    one of the best!
This is one of my favorite podcasts!! It’s so funny, and the comedy doesn’t take away from my interest in the plot or characters, which I’ve found can be an issue in other shows. Cant wait for season 2~

    Just finished season 1!
Silly, hilarious and INCREDIBLY WELL-MADE. The story? Yes. The characters? Yes! The music? YES. Unabashed queerness, punk rock, wannabe goths, human skins, and satiric mall announcements? Indeed. Can’t wait for season two! ᕦ( ᐕ )ᕡ

    Hilarious 90s Nostalgia for Goths
If you were part of the Hot Topic shopping club back in the day, this is your podcast. Good fun.

I love this podcast! And I love Mall Rat! Definitely human sympathizers. 😁

The 90’s Nostalgia Haunts me Still.
Did you think Hot Topic was the only store at the mall with good fashion during high school? Did you think the only necessary instruments for a band were one bass player, one drummer, one guitarist, and possibly a singer? We’re slushees how you got the majority or your nutrients as a child? Then this show is for you!!!! All of the 90’s tropes in one entertaining spot! Plus a plot! What could go wrong?!

this review is 4 goths only!! prepz keep scrolling
Okay good they’re gone. 😈 The premise of this story is so goofy, but the characters really grew on me! It wouldn’t work if the voice actors weren’t giving it 100%, but they are and it totally does, and the self aware comedy is spot on.

    Fun fun times!
Look, I love a well-executed joke about Hot Topic so I'm the ideal audience for this, I was IN. Set in 1999 in a suburban mall, with an ensemble of misfit demons from Hell, this is a show that is so specific in the vibe it wants to create and so committed to immersing you in it, you can’t help but be won over from that awesome theme song onward. It has some of my favorite comedic punchlines in any audio comedy (there’s a line about Satan’s favorite dish in episode one that I’ll never get over, I was 100% in love from there on out). Anything less than full commitment from the actors would not have worked and I’m happy to report they are batting 1000 (is that the phrase? whichever one is the great one)--perfect pairing of material to artists in every way. LOVE

    One Helluva Show
I also wasted my youth at the Mall so I can relate. Misroch is bae. Wiener world is my home. This is one helluva show.

    So real but insane
Miss this show so much!! Madddd funny. Is there an eta on season 2?
  • ColibriCar21
    An absolute delight!
Oh man, this show is weird, and hilarious, and so much fun. A little found family with demons? Copious '90s references? Punny names for popular mall destinations? This show has everything! I can't wait to see what else this show has in store because it has so far been an absolute joy to listen to!
  • ImGettinRealTiredOfThis
    Endlessly entertaining
I love the characters in this podcast and the sound design is pretty good. Listening to the misadventures of these demons as they try to work in a 90’s mall setting is great, plus that guitar riff rules!

    hell of a ride
Came for the humor, got unexpectedly so attached to all the characters ahhhh. This is such a good show, very well produced in terms of making it clear what things are happening through audio, and consistently super enjoyable to listen to!
  • samcambridge

    Just really good
I love this podcast, the irreverent and (ironically) human characters. Just great.
  • mom2ELM2
    Gimme more, pretty please!!!
I love this podcast. In my opinion, there are only a few shows that fall into the caragory of perfectly executed comedy audiodrama. Without a doubt, Brimstone Valley Mall should be added in into that group. I can't wait for more episodes.
  • InvincibleMoth
I am now emotional about demons
I absolutely love this show! It’s funny, and I am now very emotional about demons. I absolutely love Xaphan and Misroch and Belzagor and Asmoraius and Trainee and just well everyone! It’s absolutely hilarious but they are definitely demons. A great podcast about demons in a mall in the 90s!
  • TheOneInTheCorner
    Great listening
Interesting story, well developed world and characters, not mentally draining to listen to. Glad I picked it up.
  • OPJelloQueen
    Incredible fiction podcast
Incredibly fun, well written, and fantastically dynamic voice acting. Absolutely in love with the characters and the plot. Can’t wait for more!

    Snappy Comedic Timing
I am a huge fan of old-time radio shows and this show is scratching that itch with demon claws. The acting choices are bold and hilarious, the comedic timing of the editing clean as a whistle. It also takes me back because I lived and worked in malls just like this in the 90s. The writing (and plotting) is strong enough that it could lose half the f-bombs and stand on its own. I highly recommend this one. Careful listening to this one on public transportation because guffaws will bust out of your face. Trust me.

    🌚🌝😈
Top notch fiction podcasting. Aside from being really funny the voice acting and sound design is AMAZING. I feel like I'm eavesdropping on legit demon secrets. Great stuff 👍👍👍

Loving the little glimpses we’ve gotten into the world of BVM so far and can’t wait for more! The voice acting and sound design are super professional and well done, and I’m excited to see how the plot unfolds.

    So totally into it!!
This podcast makes me miss hanging around the shopping mall as a kid. The cast has great, witty chemistry, and their demon voices sound so cool! Even though there are only a few episodes out, I’ve already fallen in love with the characters!
  • TIEPilot_Dandy
    Already fantastic
Strong characters, good pacing, solid humor, and the whole deal just leaves me wanting more. Two episodes out and they’re already having an impact. This is definitely a show to check out and keep an eye on.
  • Rinasaurus Rex
    Fast-paced, funny and, y’know, evil.
I don’t know what’s more evil, the demons that work at this mall or the absolutely perfect 90’s aesthetics that are bringing up a lot of middle school memories i thought i’d successfully repressed. Kristen DiMercurio and all the folks at the Whisperforge are amazing. This show had me just about crying with laughter in the first episode. I’m very excited for the rest of this season ❤️😈
