    2025 Road To The Horse
Amazing job! The first time you got invited to the road to the horse, and you made the final four if that doesn’t say volumes about your program, I don’t know what else would. Absolutely love your podcast.

    Wonderful resource!
Phil is so real and raw when it comes to training horses. I learn from each and every episode that I listen to and it’s wonderful to listen to a coach/mentor who has walked the same struggles every other trainer has. His delivery is understandable and I’m so glad to have his podcast to reference!

    Quality Advice
I’m loving the down to earth, real life, real horse training podcasts from Mr. Haugen. I’ve been implementing the “softening the rib cage” technique on all the horses I ride now and WOW what a fantastic impact it’s having not only in their bodies but their minds too. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences as well as techniques that have worked for you to get a partnership with horses. A true blessing.

I really enjoy this podcast, and you are very clear and concise without being boring. Great information. I am a barrel racer, and I think everyone should listen to your episode about alleyway/box issues.

    .
Just listened to your podcast for the first time.... and I can’t complain about anything. I love the way you talk about your training.. including both good and bad. As you talk about your training I like to visualize myself in your shoes, hoping someday to be on the road to my own journey. I feel little compared to what I want to do in the future but as you talk it makes my dreams feel more realistic. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences with us through this podcast!

    So far so good!
I’m new to Phils podcast but his philosophy really resonates and he makes it interesting and relatable thru his anecdotes and experiences. Also have to say Phils voice and speaking style reminds me very much of ol’ J Vernon McGee! Takes me back to my childhood summers waking up to the voice of Dr McGee ‘preaching The Word’ in my grandparents home. Which is all to say - Great job Phil!

Glad I Stumbled In To This...
Listening to Season One currently and I’m really pleased to have stumbled in to this pod cast. I recently started working with reining horses and have been desiring discussions about the horse and training from my current trainer like the ones that Phil is proving to us. I cannot get enough of his discussions and philosophy when comes to the horse and the art of horsemanship. You do not have to be a roper or barrel racer to gain from his discussions. Again, glad I found this pod cast.

Phil's talks are humble relatable, and FULL of wisdom that applies training and life. My favorite part of any of his episodes is that I don't feel judged for wanting to take on something big. We should all hope to align ourselves with his messages. I'm totally hooked on this podcast. I'd like to add that I'm feeling great progress in my horse and myself

    Great podcast!
I am not a roping or barrel racing fan (I ride an Arab so wouldn’t fit in with that crowd anyways) but I get a lot out of this podcast when it comes to training philosophy. I use it to help me keep focused on my training goals and to look at things from my horses point of view.

    Dr. Phil
I'm not sure if I listen for the horsemanship or the human psychology more. I am a 53 year old woman and haven't owned a horse in 25 years until last week when I was gifted two 10'ish year old mares that I know nothing about. I am a bit frightened, intimidated and out of practice so I searched out a horsemanship podcast for a bit of a refresher course. I stumbled upon Be Your Best Horsemanship and knew immediately it was a good fit for me. I needed the pep talk to remind me that I just have to try. I may make some mistakes along the way but I will grow both personally and in my training skills. I have decided that Phil Haugen is the new Dr. Phil. At least he is in my book. Thanks Phil for everything that you do. You are helping me back into a part of my life that feeds my soul and I haven't had that for many years.

    Worth the listen!
Phil is so relatable and has such a great way of talking about things in an understandable way. Every episode he gives me confidence and shares something to progress both the physical and mental side of training!

Love the podcast and look forward to listening to them each week. They are all so good it is hard to choose just one. But if I were to pick one I really like Creating Muscle Memory with Feel Timing and Balance. There are so many aspects to training horses that can relate to everyday life. @philhaugenhorsemamship

One of my favorite podcasts !
I was lucky enough to attend a clinic in July with Phil! Listening to his podcasts really helps me continue to apply the information I learned. They also help refresh my memory of things we learned 😃

A must listen for anyone wanting to improve their horsemanship!
If I could give this podcast 6 stars I would ! Getting into horseback riding after 20 yrs and this podcast has been a God send. Phil’s calming voice is music to my ears almost like he was meant for this and being on air. He speaks from his heart and you honestly wish he was your Dad or Uncle and just happens to give the right advice to help perfect your horsemanship and attitude before getting into that saddle. Some people were just meant to be teachers and helpers and you can tell that his main goal is for everyone to be better riders so they can have better horses. A symbiotic relationship between man/woman and their horse..Maybe we only benefit but we sure hope they do as well. I have shared this podcast with as many people as I can and hope they benefit from it as much as I do. @b_cilla

    More than horsemanship!
I always look forward to Phil on Tuesdays! His episodes are full of of not only great horsemanship advice but solid life advice. I’ve gained a lot in regards to foundational horsemanship but maybe even more so when it comes to maintaining the correct mentality! I’ll continue to strive to be 1% better everyday!

    Be your best!
Stumbled upon this podcast earlier this spring, and have been hooked! I love the way Phil is always so optometrist and is able to share very relatable experiences. I binge listened to all of the podcasts, looked him up on social media, and then took his Foundation to Finish class. I still hadn’t gotten enough, so I traveled to Oklahoma to meet and take a lesson with him. He and his family are as genuine as they come. Highly recommend. I don’t have a favorite episode as I like them all equally and they are all Very inspiring.

    Straightforward honest horsemanship
I’m so happy I stumbled upon your podcast!!! I love barrel racing but I love the horse first 😊Thank you for stating the fact that you should always listen to your horse, have patience, and get them to use the thinking side of their brain to be a successful trainer. (I have a mare that became reactive after we moved to another state.) It’s nice to hear that my philosophy on training is validated when I listen to your podcast. I look forward to them each week!!! And your advice on life in general is great too!

First time listener and I think I’ve found my go to podcast!!
Review Update: After listening all spring, I decided to take a clinic and it was everything I expected and more. Still love listening and I patiently wait for Tuesday’s to roll around so I can get the latest podcast. Thank you Phil & team for creating such an amazing podcast that focuses on real horsemanship!! Original Review: I decided to try this podcast after a Facebook recommendation of a friend of mine. I really enjoyed the first episode and the passion and heart you can feel for the business of horse training. I’ve been training horses professionally for about a year now (Been training my own for years)!and it’s so nice to hear an honest take of how hard you need to work and the great little moments that you experience in this business. I think I’ve just found my go to traveling podcast:)

    Great podcast!
I recently started listening to these podcasts as I was preparing for my 2 year old to come home from the colt breaker. Eventually I’m going to use her for barrel racing but I want her to have a solid foundation. Listening to these podcasts has given me more confidence and insight into how I will continue on with my filly’s training.

    Thank you!!!
Really enjoy listening to this podcast. Keeps it simple and easy to understand. What a great tool to have to better my horsemanship, reminds me of basics, gives me new things to work on! From horsemanship to my attitude. Love listening to every one it has kickstarted my mind and enthusiasm again. My horses are thankful too! Every one I listen to I get something positive out of or become aware of things I need to work on, gives me a purpose when I am riding my horses. I look forward to attending one of your clinics in the future. Thank you for doing these podcasts!!! How awesome is technology that you can have such easy access to a wealth of knowledge like this.

    Great Reminders
I’ve really enjoyed listening to Phil’s podcast. He reminds me of things I know but forget to implement daily as a horse progresses. Fundamentals, repetition, quick releases - so easy to not stay grounded in the things that make a horse great.

    The best horse training podcast
Since the first one I’ve listened to, I’ve been hooked on Phil’s podcast and look forward to each one every week. I have been listening to his podcast on my drive home, then try to apply one piece of his advice to my ride that evening, and it’s helped my communication to my horses- which in turn has made things easier for both of us. Not only do I enjoy the horsemanship side of things, I really enjoy the stories and how Phil relates back to his past and how he was in the same position I am currently when he was younger. Keeps my hope up for myself and my horses in today’s tough competitions. I’ve taken the 1% better each day mentality not only to the barn, but to my job as well.
