    The more you know
When I was in the classroom, this “party” occurred every year. It occurred at the beginning of the year to get the signature that the IEPs were received. There was little to no discussion happening. We should have been doing better!! I needed to be doing it better!! It is important that each teacher knows how to implement the IEP and not just check a box! Thank you for bringing this up as a problem and helping to change the dialogue and processes.

    Extremely informative
This Podcast provides so much information to support parents and teachers of children who are on IEPs or 504s. Some of the information I learned from these episodes, I have been able to implement for my own children and with the students I work with. I have completed the Master IEP coach training and am supporting families with the the skills that I have learned.

All Students Need This- Adults too!
Hello! I really enjoyed this episode on technology. As an intervention specialist (special education teacher), technology is one of the many areas where I see students shine. I have seen students who are often quite and shy, open up to their peers by sharing about Fortnite or some other online game that they are currently playing. Looking forward to the next episode-Thanks!

I love this latest episode! Ensuring accountability or ‘next steps’ are determined by the IEP team is something that is so important so that the decisions are followed through for the child. Let’s make sure the plans to implement the IEP are put in motion. Fantastic podcast! As a Master IEP Coach, I am a devoted listener!

    School’s evaluations
Spoken like true district staff!! this is why my advocacy business is so busy!! Is she aware that kids with reading concerns do not have to be below the 25th%. She needs to update her knowledge of AB 1369. Kids with good grades can be eligible for sped. Bad advise for your sped parents 👎 Dr. Burnett

Say yes to special education again!
I’ve been listening to the podcast for a while now and I have to say with each episode, I am finding myself saying “YAS, Catherine” every single time. She brings real special education issues to the table and leaves out all the gossip and BS. Catherine knows how to get to the point, bring parents concerns to light as well as show teacher frustrations. We are all equal partners at the table and Catherine’s confidence shows that parents and special education teachers have similar concerns!! Thank you for always keeping it real ❤️

    We got to do better
This is a great podcast. In listening to this episode, Catherine hits the nail on the head! As a special needs sibling, special needs parent and a behavior analyst we have to work together to create a better education for the child. Yes, the federal law gives a minimum, but we all should want better. And to start doing that we, the team has to create opportunities. Get the child involved. Sometimes we forget they too have a voice. Being collaborative, solution focused and assertive can evoke positive change. Thank you Catherine for saying this out loud for everyone to hear!!
