Love how frank the show is. Love how knowledgeable the hosts are. Too many of these type of shows are a sell out - this one is not.

After listening to a handful of PSU podcasts, I came across Cory and Shaun's PSU Hardcore podcast this season and haven't looked back since. These guys take the time to analyze each aspect of every Penn State game - including review of game film - in all three phases of play, and often times their analysis leads to conclusions that are in direct contrast to what you might hear not only in national media, but also from some in local media as well as in other competing PSU creators whose "hot takes" lamely repeat what they heard elsewhere. Lazy journalists they are not - these guys clearly understand football, invest the time to get it right, and don't pull punches when issues need to be called out. The banter between the two is intelligent, insightful, and articulate, but most of all consistently informative and always entertaining. They'll challenge the conventional wisdom when appropriate, and will make you laugh out loud at least once an episode with a great story or an arcane reference of a distant Nittany Lion player or coach name from the past. The content does not stop once the season is over - there is fresh content all year long - and they continue to book great guests on the show. Put this podcast at the top of your queue, Penn State fans, this is the one you've been looking for.

as a recent penn state student who grew up as a michigan fan (boo), the guys’ perspective as diehard fans and the attention to detail makes me feel like i’m cramming dearly missed decades of football into every season. i love it. 5 stars.

I would say this podcast has lots of potential to be great. If they were to get rid of cory and bring in a more sensible and realistic person who has more football knowledge, this pod has a chance to be good. Right now it’s nothing more than just fans thinking they know as much as football experts. There’s so many penn state pods out there. This is one I would shy away from.

Was giving you guys a shot but some of these takes are so off base with what I consider a “Hardcore Penn State” fan to have. Paterno’s teams were lucky? WOW. Sean Clifford has four turnovers but yet we blame the defense not playing complimentary football in the 4th QTR? OSU averaging almost 50 points a game and our D holds them to 16 through 3.5 quarters of football hahah watch a few more decades of football before you start calling yourselves hardcore.

Hosts are down to earth and level headed. They offer different perspectives and always have good guests. The only PSU football podcast I listen to as I think they do a good job balancing analysis and fandom. Thanks guys!

Must listen show for any Penn State fan. A show that covers everything a Penn State could want and then some.

I listen to all of the PSU podcasts, you guys are right up there with TFrank in terms of breakdown but don’t feel like you’re trying to get the podcast over with. Keep up the great work!

This is the best PSU football related podcast out there. Between the Wednesday and Sunday podcasts that gives me about 5 hours or so of PSU football analysis to listen to and I still find myself wanting more. These guys are down to earth and realistic in their reviews of PSU football performances and players. Do yourself a favor and give these guys a listen!

These guys know there stuff and they are probably the most realistic PSU analysts. They are not doom and gloom if something goes wrong, but they are also cautiously optimistic of the talent on the team. This really shows during their convos on the pod.

Two shows a week - thorough review of the previous week and a great preview of the next game. Enjoyable especially when traveling. Appreciate the efforts to engage with fans as well.

Cory and Shawn have the sickness. I have the sickness. The sickness is an intense desire to do a deep dive into the nuances of PSF. The sickness can lead to podcasts that are sometimes a couple hours long. The sickness is listening to every second of those hours-long podcasts and then wanting more. These dudes will actually take a position about the team and then argue their position vigorously, a rare aspect in podcast land. They are great hosts and do a fantastic job. Join in and do it soon.

Long time listener. My favorite podcast. Spend a lot of time in the car, and this makes the drives so much easier. Cory’s one of my favorite people I’ve met during my time at PSU. Always very knowledgeable and getting people fired up on game days. A few years later I’m graduated and living in another state, he’s still getting us fired up and in the know of our favorite team. This is, by a large margin, is one of the best Penn State football shows on the podcast scene. I’ve bounced around from the Unrivaled podcast to Dear Old State and this podcast easily belongs in the same tier. The insight given by Cory and Shawn is truly fantastic because it’s a combination of realistic, fact-based analysis blended with their down to Earth personalities. I learn new things about Penn State football every single time I sit down and listen to this podcast (and I thought I already knew a lot). It is very hard to find passionate Penn State fans that remain as realistic and honest as these two. I’ve enjoyed listening to these shows on all my road trips this summer and I look forward to the season ahead with the both of you at the helm! We Are!

Been listening to this pod since it was a wide-ranging college football show, but the pod has gone to another level since it narrowed its focus solely on Penn State football a few months ago. Host and co-host have a deep pool of Penn state football knowledge and insight and their chemistry grows each passing episode. Corey covers a wide variety of colleges in his podcast. He provides a well educated breakdown of the previous weeks games as well as a good look at the games coming up next week. He’s a great host to listen to and a great guy. One of my favorite podcasts to listen to for college football.

I love listening to Hardcore College Football because it’s an excellent source for solid CFB takes. Cory is a great host who knows what he’s talking about and he makes every episode enjoyable. This podcast has become one of my favorite CFB podcasts and I look forward to every episode.
