The Narcissists' Code

923

Welcome to my podcast. I am Lee Hammock a self aware narcissist and I'm known as Mental Healness all over social media. I have NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder) and I've been dealing with this personality disorder for as long as I can remember. I have been in psychotherapy for the last 4 years and Therapy has helped me to figure out exactly why I do what I do and it has allowed me to get to this point where I can offer you the perspective inside the head of a person battling this personality disorder. You might get triggered, but you'll get validated. @mentalhealness everywhere

    Helpful Yet Stressful
I love hearing this perspective as it is more helpful to me than other podcasts that are narrated by victims but I find this podcast stressful to listen to. But for the sole reason that the host sounds passionate about getting his point accross, the irony in the selflessness of the gesture makes me giggle. Not to sound cliche but being an empathetic person, which one could assume makes up a good portion of your listeners, I take on other peoples emotions and my blood pressure rises while listening, and I eventually have to take a break. I always come back though, just adjusted to play at a slower speed

    Refreshing Take
A topic that is overdone by many, his platform interested me because it is a podcast educating folks on narcs by narcs. I would love to ask Lee if he is a covert narc? And how did you become accepting of your diagnosis? And actively work on it? Why do you care to help others? I want to interview you, Lee

    Courage
Dear Lee , I am so proud of you and your courage to admit and speak the truth. Your podcast has been so helpful in understanding from a narcissist perspective. I am an empath and it has been so painful trying to understand the narcissist in my life. You have given me so much clarity and helped me to move on. Thank you!!!

    Meh
Itā€™s like the guy is half in the podcast and half looking at stuff on his phone. He may make one point if his brain finally gets to it, but honestly it is just ALL over the place with nothing really to learn here.

Itā€™s like listening to a friend trying to talk some sense into you
Lee hits with those hard but necessary truths, and always with compassion. I really appreciate his very unique perspective, his willingness to be so vulnerable, and all the hard work Iā€™m sure heā€™s had to do. Itā€™s truly a gift to be able to get inside the head of someone with narcissistic traits ā¤ļø

I donā€™t get the folks complaining that the show is just LH talking about himself likeā€¦thatā€™s literally the entire plot of the podcast yā€™all. This beautiful man is doing us all the service of sharing his lived experience to help ease our suffering. He isnā€™t a therapist or a psychiatrist heā€™s a guy with NPD talking about it. There are other stellar options out there if youā€™re looking for a more academic or cerebral discussion of NPD abuse and recovery. Take what you like and leave the rest but leave my guy Lee alone thanks. Coming back a month later to deduct a star because the ads are out of control. I understand one or two per episode but I shouldnā€™t be expected to endure half a dozen intrusive ads over the span of a 14-minute podcast. Itā€™s jarring and excessive and defeats from the quality of the content.

    40yrs married to narcissist
Leeā€¦you have changed me forever. You explain behavior, manipulation, give answers to understand their ā€œcrazy ā€œ. Jeckall/Hyde I labeled it b4 narcissistic behavior was on the map. Sharing your journey is most extraordinary and it changes my perspective. Iā€™m classic, no friends, no family, live in the country, his eyes do get black. Rants, rages, spits in face, has pushed me around, cheats, lies, he loves to watch me BURN. he is compassionate for all but for his wife He gets a buzz on a smear campaign, says terrible lies especially to my 83yr old mother. He does tell on himself when accusing me of whatever. His choke collar is tight and my leash is short. I can do nothing right. You help UNBLUR the lines he intentionally makes. Iā€™ve learned so much. I had lived every experience you speak of, thank you for releasing my chains I put on that never helped. Iā€™d like more help from the work shops etc you offer. I was a vibrant, happy, giving young women when I met him. Iā€™m unhealthy, been sick for years, he wants a divorce and he has turned even nastier. I only get a random low allowance. If at all All the red flags. Thatā€™s my life ! I gave him all my pay to help build trust only that back fired and I donā€™t have access to my $$ nothing. I have nothing. Not even respect. You helped me realize what was and wasnā€™t ā€œloveā€ & not to ignore the truth I really am disposable. You ROCK ! Tess

    Learning so much!
I stumbled across your podcast looking to educate myself about malignant narcissists. Your podcast is easy to get into, easily broke down & 100% real! I would love for you to go into narcissistic people within extended family (IE; my daughter in law is one, so dealing with her is different than a romantic partner) anyway Iā€™m learning a ton & will be looking into your workshops! Thanks Lee!!!

    Lee is so relatable!
Listening to Lee, Iā€™m like one of those people yelling at the TV or the moving screen. I know he says this is about some narcissistic people, but he is describing my boyfriend to a T. This has helped me to not feel so bad about myself because I now understand the mind of my partner. This podcast is so accurate to what it is like being with someone with NPD.

    Appreciation and narcissistic question
Your podcast has been very educational and have answered and help me with so many interactions with the narcissist in my life I donā€™t question my self anymore Im not crazy šŸ˜‚itā€™s a whole new perspective coming from a diagnosed narcissist. I do have a question would a narcissist listen to your podcast? I felt like sending it to my ex which is a narcissist thinking he would listen to it knowing itā€™s a narcissist speaking on narcissism. Which heā€™s in total denial for, but i was assuming maybe if he heard what it is from you then he would have some realization but I already feel like a idiot asking that question because I already know the answer Smh. Hope to hear your response

    Grateful
I started watching you on TikTok, and at that time I was in a really low place really confused, and when I came across your content, it really shined a light on what I was dealing with when it came to my narcissistic husband. I am really thankful for someone like you to take the time out to educate people when it comes to this disorder.
  • Lisita13
    New perspective
I have been doing a lot of research on narcissism after realizing I was in a 3 year relationship with one who was similar to my ex husband. I thought I had most of the answers until listening to this podcast that brought new points to light. The information has resonated with and shocked me, but has given much needed comfort. A lot of what Lee says is not found in books and articles written by therapists. He brings a whole new perspective that I hadnā€™t even thought of. Thank you for helping me understand what happened in both of those relationships.
  • lblackard
    Too relatable
I wish I didnā€™t resonate with this so much but I do. My partner of 12+ years is a narcissist, Iā€™ve had an idea of this for quite a while but listening to this podcast brought tears to my eyes. I already feel relief knowing that I am not alone nor am I delusional. I truly appreciate Leeā€™s transparency. I am already learning tips for navigating my relationship and one day I can only hope to share this with my partner.

Narcissist decoder. Lee is our double agent.
Ever since I realized my boyfriend/ex boyfriend is a narcissist/love bomber, I have done so much research into this personality disorder. Lee and the military guy Walker have been my go-to for comfort and insight. Iā€™m not crazy. None of us are. I have been binge listening Leeā€™s episodes and I feel I understand a lot about narcissistic toxic people. Iā€™ve also started to believe that maybe the future will contain only narcissistic people. The world just makes us that way. So at any stage in your life, listening to this podcast will give you the insight you need to be successful in dealing with all types of people, at all stages of your life. I am truly grateful to have these episodes to refer to and also to bring me comfort all day. Thank you Lee.

For those who need help, this is the place
For those who need help in getting out of a toxic or narcissistic relationship, this is where to go. Lee has the perfect perspective, and gives out the advice (re:TRUTH) about how to deal with being in, getting out, and helping to stay out of these types of relationships. Even if youā€™ve tried numerous times before, keep listening, keep watching on YouTube, keep learning and you will grow stronger. Sometimes getting out of this situation is like pushing over a vending machine, it make take a few times to rock it enough to get it over, but you will. Follow Lee and he will help you become a better person and have a better life after getting away from your toxic/narcissistic ex.

    2/22 episode
Best of the bunch so far. The truth.
  • awesome vv
Repeats the same sentences over and over and over
Lee has some good points but the episodes could be about 1-2 minutes long. He has about one minute of content and then he just keeps saying the same thing over and over like 15 times. Itā€™s really strange. Like maybe he thinks his audience is too stupid to understand the first few times? Or he doesnā€™t have enough to say so he keeps repeating? Or itā€™s part of the disorder?
  • GS uber
    Thank you. Spot on
The best information I have come across for NPD and narcissism. Everything you have posted has been dead on. I really needed this so I know I was in a toxic relationship. Thank you for giving my freedom back.
  • AAmericanGirl
    Lee is a narc decoder
The best podcast! I have had several of these relationships. Now I can spot a narc pretty quickly, but have not generally understood WHY they do the things they do. It is so great to have my feelings of turmoil (created by this type of person) validated. Thank you, Lee.
  • HazelGraphics
    True validation.
I have been in 20+ relationship and didnā€™t realize how narcissistic they were and how long I had been lied to, gaslighted, cheated on, abandoned and forever traumatized by this intense relationship. This podcast has been a tool in my divorce healing because it has validated everything I have felt and thought thru the years but was always gaslighted to believe it was all me, all the time. Your truth and candidness about this topic keeps it real no matter how hard it is to hear/accept. I canā€™t unsee the red flags now, and you keep me educated on themā€¦thatā€™s a good thing! Thanks for helping me get thru this intense breakup and thanks for empowerment I get from the knowledge and experiences you drop on us! šŸ‘šŸ‘

    Great podcast!
Itā€™s very helpful hearing the perspective of someone who admittedly has narcissistic tendencies. My counselor tells me that most will not admit an issue that they are having. How refreshing that he is willing to open up and share his knowledge. Thank you!

    Super helpful
Both of my parents are diagnosed as having NPD. Iā€™ve had friends and boyfriends who also had NPD. A therapist warned me, they will drawn to you and you will find them ā€œfamiliarā€ because you are used to your parents. She was right! This podcast is helping me understand what is happening and make changes.
  • Hannah___!
    Insanely accurate
Narcissism is a word thrown around too flippantly but Lee really breaks down some common characteristics that feel so affirming to people who have dealt with a grandiose person in their lives. So helpful!
