L masterPertinent topics & a sense of communityThere is still stigma and shame associated with mental health issues, & it’s easy to feel so alone when dealing with such difficulties. This show addresses so many pertinent issues, with guests who have direct experience, & professionals with a range of expertise. I’ve learned so much, listening to this podcast, and also felt a reassurance that we’re not alone in this. Anyone who is dealing with issues or has a friend or loved one who is (so, pretty much all of us!) can gain so much knowledge and also reassurance from listening. Thank you Debra and staff! Bravo!!

KateSaphirVariousThank you, Debra and team: for your timely podcasts - so many topics have been so helpful for myself that I can’t name them all here-and in particular for bringing to the fore experts in the fields you cover who are of our community and of African American descent. It adds an angle and perspective so often sorely missing.

LauraSariInformative, Fascinating, Important Podcast Full of Fascinating GuestsDebra Sloss is providing a critically important service to communities needing support regarding mental and emotional health. Her episodes on race and mental health were thoughtful, informative and educational. State of Mind is providing an important and critical service. I was particularly impressed with the show about the mental health of police officers. I thought this was a fantastic show. I learned so much about the pressures cops are under and the efforts that are being made from the inside out to reform the police department. The guests were honest and forthright, much more than I expected law enforcement officers to be. Laurel Andres spoke so clearly and powerfully about trauma in the life of officers and what is being done about it in our country. I learned a lot from the this program. It gave me more empathy for police offers and first responders and gave me more hope that there are people in the system who want to change the culture that has led to police killings of Black and brown people all over the country. Thanks for providing such excellent programming. Laura Davis

SF.HikerGalDebra S.- Great host & Interviewer!I recently started following Debra Sloss's podcast STATE OF MIND after listening to episode #27 "Mental Health Crisis Tool Kit". Debra gave excellent in-depth interviews, allowing all 3 guests to tell their stories. Debra's respectful and timely interjections, were very helpful to the audience, as she asked each guest to elaborate further, as to providing websites, application documents, and references pertaining to their experience. 🌺
