SweetAfflictionInteresting topics, almost AI like voiceThe voice takes a bit of getting used to like others I thought it was AI at first. Other listeners are correct with their criticism but it was something I could get past. Over all I like the lesser covered cases. The host is straightforward, factual, and impartial.

DJ ChapstickLove you Mamaš¤I usually listen to you after evening time. I love the evenness and flow of your voice. You help me relax with your tales of murder. Mucho gracias!
-
PodcastJunkie25Still improperly pronouncing many, many wordsAfter all these years, the host still lacks the ability to properly pronounce the simplest words (for example, āfillet knifeā). Research the correct pronunciation if you donāt know - donāt guess and donāt be lazy. The editing also still needs work.
-
Lt.CoffeeSilenceI love the cases and the way the hosts portrays them however the breaks of silence are to long I often find myself making sure that the show is still playing thinking something has gone dead and it never is stop doing this please

Squidly402BingeMost of the podcasts in my queue are true crime podcasts so Iāve heard a lot of the same stories over and over but itās refreshing to hear a little difference in each one and getting more and more details. Iāve been binge listening to your backlogs for about 2 months now and theyāre great! I love your voice, itās very soothing but not too monotone. Canāt wait to catch up on the newer ones! Keep up the great work! š

Mr. WikiFantastic PodcastThis show is well researched and presented. Hostess is respectful of the victims and their families and tells the entire story from start to finish in an easily digestible episode. There is a good case variety and it is never boring. Great job! Have a listen!
-
stopxmotionBoringThe cases might be interesting but I wouldn't know because the speaker is way too boring. Might be ok if I'm trying to fall asleep to a monotone voice that has no personal touch at all. I think she is just reading a script.
-
1971kmrkItās the weirdest thingā¦I swear, sometimes the host will repeat a sentence (or even two-three) *verbatim*. One after the other. No idea why. The cases covered are great, but are longer than they need to be. And as has been mentioned, the transitions to add are jarring and off-putting.
-
Herr Wolf Jr.Love the accentTop 5 true crime podcasts with great writing and one of the most professionally produced That being said there are some lengthy pauses at random times that I find kinda humorous!
-
TsadecolonItās not Morbid, and thatās why I like itMorbid was recommended to me when I searched true crime, but it wasnāt my speed. Morbidology was beside it so I figured why not. As it turns out, this podcast is actually exactly what Iāve been looking for. The host tells the story and gets right to it. Thereās no disrespectful side banter and laughter. The story is told and treated very seriously. At this point Iāve burned through almost every episode.

vivparLoveI love your pod cast, it is interesting. I listen to it every time I go on my walks. Thank you ā„ļø

RogerReptileGreat podcast!Emily just has a great voice to listen to crime stories to. I enjoy how she always has real unties when possible. I also love how she refers to the victim on a first name basis but doesnāt give the perpetrator that dignity and uses last names when talking about them. Very nice to listen to.
-
Hard to listenFakeAbsolutely unbearable accent that sounds completely fake. Itās off and on and so hard to listen to. I really wanted to listen to one of the stories and couldnāt finish it bc of the podcasters accent changing off and on.
-
Sanne122323Good show!I really enjoy listening. I do wish the pauses werenāt so long. I always think my phone turned off. Wonāt make me stop listening, just a bit unnatural and strange.

Limerick68One of my favorites!I truly enjoy the fact that Emily covers not only US cases, but cases abroad. A lot of True Crime podcasts cover the same cases over and over, each with a different spin. But Iāve learned about cases that Iād never heard of before. In addition, Iāve found it to be very respectful that Emily adds the picture of the victim(s) as the tile for the episode. Many podcasters use only their main podcast name as the tile for every episode. Adding their picture, to me, shows respect and care for each victim. Making each episode personal with a face to put to the case immediately without having to dig. Thank you for that. And thank you for sharing their lives with us in such a touching way. I appreciate it.

ArlenecroImpartialI like this true crime podcast because she states facts. Sheās not over embellishing with her thoughts, dragging the podcast on.
-
lucianokmnThe voiceIs this an AI thing? Itās not a real person reading it? I couldnāt get through 5 seconds.
-
badkitty13xxReally like this podcast.I really like this podcast! Thereās so many crappy podcasts out there. This is one of the few that I actually listen to, and I like both the cases and the storytelling. I enjoy the fact that many of the stories are creepy and thought-provoking. Definitely one of my top five and worth a listen without a doubt.
-
bye122334455666778Well doneVery well researched, great story telling and LOVE the accent.
-
NullityShows is great!Every time I hear the intro music it sounds like a 1980s p0rn soundtrack like the kind that you would get in one of the motels on airline highway (where often the old-school TV preachers used to āhang outā).
-
GeobeekeeperNo no noPlease, no more. Make it stop! The mechanical story teller is so badā¦ bring in a real humanā¦ thank you

brainzmatterGreat writing and reportageI know Emily contributes to They Walk Among Us and she is a great writer and prolific storyteller. I know sheās from Northern Ireland and Iām familiar with the accent, but thereās something off about her cadence and the rhythmic pauses in her narration that go beyond a lilt and simply become singsong and frankly annoying. I keep listening from time to time but canāt subscribe as I would not be able to listen regularly. Iāll buy her books and appreciate her work elsewhere. I think that with a bit of coaching she might give a more polished presentation and that would be wonderful. Sorry, I canāt take the ads. Ugh, theyāre awful, mostly pseudoscientific garbage that she reads out with a straight face. I guess itās one way to get subscribers.

leslie_willCouldnāt FinishI tried several episodes and couldnāt finish 4 of the 5. This pod covers A LOT of cases involving children so if that bothers you, this isnāt for you. Surprisingly, the monotone voice and unique cadence that others have mentioned donāt bother me, but I have to agree about the poor ad placement. However, if you dislike political agendas, slights, and virtue signaling being interjected into the story then, again, this isnāt for you. Itās especially annoying when the host makes derogatory cultural comments about the States when sheās based in Ireland.
-
JenWW76PerfectEmily is an excellent storyteller and her beautiful Irish accent is an added bonus. I like how she often puts a clip from the trial or 911 call etc. at the beginning of the episode. Iām so glad I found this show.
-
CrimepodnaTop notchEmily works tirelessly on this podcast and it shows. The narration, writing and storytelling is impeccable.
-
eyes of maryMy new favorite podcast!I am currently binging this podcast. Itās done very well, and Iām obsessed with the hostās accent.
-
Jenny_ThompsonTHE VOICEThe voice is like listening to a robot that thinks itās a person. The writing is decent but it would be much better read by a human being.
-
EmilyStrawberryPiperTrue Crime Podcast Addict and Love ItI happen to be quite addicted to True Crime Podcasts specifically and this is one of my favorites. I absolutely adore the accent and the tone of the narrator. I love her style that gives me a break from the more personal narrative formats of other podcasts and just sticks to the story. I like having that option depending on my mood. The accent is my favorite though š„°
-
The Nautical BeanGreat listen!!Appreciate your hard work and the pieced in clips!! Love the longer, detailed episodes. Really helps me get through the work day! And if you canāt understand her accent, it is 100% a you problem. She speaks very clearly and at a good pace. Keep up the great workšš½
-
Asksmith89Is this AI?I feel like Iām being read to be AI. Her voice is so monotone. Interesting storiesāmaybe it would help if she expresses emotion?? I donāt know.
-
iamnegatibeWhatās with low starsā¦.Whatās with the low stars because folks canāt place the hostās accent? A suuuuper simple Google search shows she is from Northern Ireland. I love hostās accent; itās a large part of what makes me come back. Host takes care to speak slowly and clearly. I do agree podcast can get a little robotic/monotonous, but stories are told with great care to victims and good pacing. I donāt listen regularly, but when I feel the urgeā¦.Morbidology never disappoints. Thanks!!!
-
SiouxsieMcThe voiceIs this hosted by a real person? It really sounds like AI
-
Lizzy732Good info - slow down!I usually end up listening at 0.75x speed so I can understand everything. Maybe itās just me but it would help if you would slow a bit down!
-
Sr JulianSo GladIām glad I hung in there with this podcast! It has gone from poor to awesome. I wrote a one star review some time ago and explained the problems. Not that you took my advice, but the podcast is now excellent. Good writing and research and good voice.
-
LSD122070LAZY & BORING!I listened to the first 4 and then I went to the 2 newestā¦ you put me to sleep š“ Do some real work and get interviews. If I want someone to just read to me to put me to sleep Iāll get an audio book. š
-
Toog 1970Great!I always enjoy your lesser known cases. Initially the presenterās voice annoyed me but Iāve gotten acclimated to it now. Your content is always solid and interesting.
-
AbbGamBummerJust not for me. Research and details are great but Iām having such a hard time moving past the robotic notions of the hostās voice
-
gooatzVoice is from where?I am so distracted by the accent. Is it Australian, New Zealand, British, Irish, Scottish or one of several American dialects ?? It drifts in and out all of them. Iāve lived in Australia, and New Zealand and worked with Brits but I still get stuck on pronunciations. Content is good.
-
AimsterdoodlepufferkinsAd placementThe ad placement lately has been absolutely awful, why are you inserting ads in the MIDDLE of a sentence?? This isnāt a new podcast, get a better producer please.
-
Cj fshvhAds can be disruptiveGreat podcast, editing could use some improvement. A transition between the pod and ads would do wonders, it takes me out of it when it abruptly changes from narration to āwow, I love this house!ā
-
Muscle Artistry - Jen S.Very well doneThis podcast is thorough and well done. It is factual and is not sensational.
-
walkingalGreat podcast!Great podcast and story coverage, but please, quit inserting the word HAD into the storytelling sentences.
-
pibblemom88Love you, EmilyLove love love Morbidology, and Iāve been watching and listening to true crime since the late 90s. Emily is a wonderful narrator and I can tell how much she cares about the victims and their families. Keep it up! Iāll keep listening.
-
courtmartialMy absolute fave!!!!every single monday my little schnauzer knows heās getting an extra long morning walk because i get to listen to my FAVORITE podcast since 2014 serial!! in case you havenāt noticed the shownotes from other great true crime podcasts this host emily must be insanely busy researching and then informing us on all these terrible incidents that pique our curiosityā i have no idea how she does it but thank you!!! just remember to please keep saving the best for your morbidology besties!!!
-
~Just_Jess~NegativeYeah thatās a no from me. I canāt get passed that voice! I love accents, but this is just too much!! Canāt do it!!
-
BethxnyMy favorite! My favorite true crime podcast! Sheās informative and dives into cases Iāve never heard of before.
-
Specialperson333NopeYeah no, I canāt. I even tried listening to it faster, I can speed pods up sometimes with no issue. But even that doesnāt save this narrator. I donāt know if itās AI, or some undiscovered dialect, but itās insufferable. Sorry to say, cuz I was legit interested in some of the cases they cover. Wish I could rate 0 stars. Get a new narrator, & Iāll gladly come back.
-
R.A.P. MomWhat happenedI have listened to every episode, I like how she gets to the story. I hate when podcasters talk for 20 minutes with each other, just get to it! Anyway, the reason 3 stars is I feel like she has lost her desire to tell stories. Multiple mess ups per episodes, repeating lines and words. As a writer you should not repeat the same word over and over, itās very frustrating to listen too. I am moving on from this podcast, way to many true crime out there to continue where the story isnāt being told exceptional.
-
ThatOneGirl76Excellent content!I enjoy this podcast soooo much. Thereās a lot of detail in each episode and the cases covered are consistently interesting. Her voice though, I love it! Took a little bit to get used to and when she pronounces some American names, I chuckle, but itās awesome. A lot of time and effort goes into this podcast and itās well worth a listen.
-
VerianceMy new favorite!Just discovered the podcast, excited to work through the back catalog. I love your voice and your storytelling āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø
