Corgi Mom 7Listen Up, FolksIf you are someone who remembers all of the lovely action movies of the 90s, or even if you don’t, this is such a fun movie podcast to listen to. Tristan & Greg go over not just the movie but also the back story of the filim, as they say. Plus they give the audience so many great catchphrases “Keep Going”….neither rain, snow nor coma can stop these two astute film critics. 👍👍

davidullmanWow! Very astute. Keep Going!!Greg and Tristan have a charming dynamic, obviously put a lot of effort into the production with underscoring from the films and their segments origins story. Their enthusiasm is contagious, and their choice of films delightful to someone of a similar generation. Also, the anchor of Jean-Claude and Damme is perhaps my favorite feature. Thanks, fellas. Keep going!

Cocothemonkey1984Keep GoingOoeee indeed. The pod of a generation 🙌

Addicting in a fun wayI got no witty titleAbout a year ago I thought I’d look to see if I could find a podcast about Little Shop of Horrors (my #1 favorite movie!) and clicked on DIs episode by chance and enjoyed it so much, I subscribed before the episode was done. I love how they cover everything from the year it was made, the back story, the synopsis always makes me laugh and my favorite is the Simpson and Sough Park references! I live my life in Simpson references and quotes, not everyone understands or appreciates it, lol but 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ So hearing them sprinkled through nearly every episode makes me smile. I’ve laughed and learned so much about the movies of my childhood such as (insert Troy Mcclure voice) Child’s Play, Gremlins, Beetlejuice, T2, ghostbusters, and soooo many more! I may have no witty title and I’m not so good with the words but I throughly enjoy this podcast! Now time to steal my husbands phone and wrote another review 🤗 Thank you Tristen and Greg for the knowledge and the laughs.

Tayrock11Kings of the VHS Era Rewatch! This podcast is perfect for anyone who has the HBO feature presentation music living in their head rent-free for decades. Whether you grew up strolling the video store aisles for obscure genre titles or caught many of these titles in their made-for-tv edit originally, this show is a nostalgia trip that explores the classics of the VHS era and gives them a humorous breakdown to see how they hold up today. As far as movie podcasts go, Tristan and Greg have a unique way of tapping into the collective pop culture appeal of so many classics of the 80’s and 90’s and exploring the impact they had beyond the box office. They also make a point to pay respects and tribute one of the action kings (JCVD) while showcasing the rest of the “lat pack” as well. I can’t recommend this one enough, as it has become a go-to for me. Good episodes to start with include Demolition Man, Last Action Hero, Congo and Hard Target. Great works guys. *KEEP GOING* -Jackson

Mxsandy12Nostalgic Explosion of Fun!!!Tristan and Greg are a retro delight! Covering all my favorite classic action flicks in a joyous and informative way. You can tell they are great friends and it’s like listening to two friends at the bar just having the best time talking movies. Sly! Arnold! JCVD! These guys are a roundhouse kick right to my nostalgic soul!
-
tx diesel 85CoolYou guys are cool.

RacerXK1Weekly must listenCome for the movie nostalgia and stay for the witty banter. Tristan and Greg deliver a consistently delightful show with solid prep and research and then sharing their personal connection and reaction for each movie. This all makes Double Impact one of my favorite podcasts, and it always gets pushed to the top of my listening queue.

WaltbbaddHilariousThese guys are awesome. In the words of Van Damme, “Keep going”

StefanSwansonSpeaking my languageI’m not entirely sure how I even stumbled onto this podcast, but it has quickly become my go-to commuting listen. I have to admit my bias because these guys are obviously right around my age (mid/late 30s), so the cultural references speak directly to me. Also, their choices of movies are literally all the movies I rented from Blockbuster every weekend as a kid. But even if you’re not in that category, Tristan and Greg offer some hilarious insight into these films, including interesting background info, entertaining synopses, and of course brilliant commentary. I have not listened to every episode yet, but the dozen or so that I have listened to make this an official “must listen” for me.
-
no_jacket_requiredI love you guys!!!I have only one complaint- I binged this podcast so fast, now I have to wait a full week to hear new episodes.
-
ChronicMasticatorKeep Going...I enjoy listening to these guys reminisce about the films of our childhoods. I’m oft reminded of films I had forgotten about and always enjoy listening to these friends discuss them. They don’t take themselves to seriously and follow and rough schematic for each episode. If you’re looking for a new movie podcast, be like Chance Boudreaux’s mama and take a chance on this one.

JoshbelluomGood timesGood times reliving some good movies

Jordon RayJCVD pod for the win!Growing up Van-Damme was my favorite action star! Really enjoy the podcast guys!

madillicusGreat vibe! Highly recommend this!I love the pace and the quality of the reviews that Tristan and Greg create. Great choice of movies, nice lead ups to topics, easter eggs about the movies, stories on the actors, time capsules; love the quirky sound bytes, jokes, banter, etc. You know these two guys are really into their craft and have a blast doing this!

The Original T BoneTwo impacts for the price of one!Tristan and Greg get it. This podcast will hit hard for all children of the 90s, and might even for those of lesser decades as well. Love how they go from genre to genre seamlessly. Love the Aussie stuff though I do not fully understand it as an Amurican. Love Tristan’s encyclopedic knowledge of film (JCVD-specific). Love Greg’s equally impressive knowledge and expertise with martial arts. So much to love, give the lads a listen and sop up those warm and fuzzy movie feels.

Arnie81-Flashbacks-Tristan & Greg take your back to your childhood for many of us listeners . Really like this as it passes the time while driving to work or working out. What’s great about this podcast is that during the episode it makes you think of all the other movies that are related ! Always great content , nice edited with great sound clips! Each podcast has a great introduction , and there are always interesting facts about the movies that you would of never thought of . Great work men !

forenikegolfI Love The 80s AND The 90s AND These GuysThis is a really fun podcast talking about movies from the late 80s and 90s. But it’s not just a podcast of old movies being reviewed, instead Tristan and Greg dig up interesting facts about why the film came about, casting decisions, and more. Then they explore how the movie would hold up culturally if it were released today. Is it a rewatch or should it remain in the paaaaassst? I was born in 1980 and love movies, so this is a must listen podcast. If you’re similar to me, you’ll love it too!

dev_not_kevCured me!!!!I stumbled upon this podcast last summer and it’s been an absolute delight following along and becoming a friend of the show on this journey! Their analyses of the plots, interesting back stories, and delicate balancing act of acknowledgement of social issues without becoming too soap boxy (great self awareness) keeps us engaged, entertained, and even learning a little something. And JCVD does get his buns out.
-
JeffWelbornYou should be in the Double Impact business. This has quickly become my favorite movie podcast. Great chemistry between the guys. Straight man Tristan and super dry humor Greg work so well together. You’ll learn you’ll laugh and maybe cry. It’s also a love story.
-
thegregcarreiraGreat show boys!!This is an awesome podcast!! As a 80s kid myself I relate to all these movies. Greg and tristen really bring you back to some great flicks and forgotten titles I also think it’s a great companion podcast to movie crush.

Sampatton89Two Australian guys talk about 80s and 90s movies in a fun and fascinating manner. If my straightforward title intrigued you, then this podcast is for you. It is also for people who are slightly interested in movies from the past 30 years. Very entertaining and informational (also a lot of hidden Simpson references). Usually an hour long episode, which is great for commuting between home and work.

Cole T WAwesome entertaining trip down memory laneFound these guys last week and being a person who listens to a lot of podcasts and this one is up there among my favorites! It’s cool thinking about the cool old movies I’ve since forgotten about. Bringing back the old fond memory of pouring water on my little brother waiting for gremlins to pop out.

mwmiller98"I've only been able to find one critical essay on this film...in the absence of our own."I found this podcast through the sheer serendipity that is akin to the way Billy's dad came across the Mogwai in Chinatown in that race-relation cultural commentary know as 1984's Gremlins. Every episode of this podcasts is fantastic, insightful, and hilarious! Well done, fellas!

MartyMcFlyFound You Guys Thru An Instagram Ad...Instagram finally got its target audience right. Amidst the hair loss and underwear ads I found your podcast. I love your banter and the free association nature of the podcast yet it always has a flow and stays on topic. It’s also great, being an American, to hear from two dudes in Australia who, frankly, had a very similar childhood to mine even though we grew up on opposite sides of the globe. Excellent podcast. Keep the episodes coming!!

The_Swede_o331So Binge WorthyI work outside alone and have the Privilege of listening to podcasts all day. Close to ten hours a day usually. I’m picky. If you don’t capture my attention in the first ten minutes or the audio is crap I’m moving on to the next one. I found this podcast from an ad on IG for the Back to the future episode. One of my all time favorite movies. I immediately subscribed and was excited to check it out the next day at work. Since then I’ve listened to almost every episode in a week. I can’t speak highly enough of these guys. They’re honest in there take on the rewatch of these classics. And I can’t say I’ve really disagreed. The audio is tremendous, the length works out great and they have a perfect balance if friendly banter sharing nostalgic memories and also sticking to facts and serving up lots of tasty backstories to the movies and the cast. If you’re a 90’s kid, love movies and podcasts you need to listen to Tristan and Greg. You won’t be disappointed.

CGI killed the Video starNostalgia remixedIt’s great to revisit the films that shaped my childhood, but with a new perspective. Tristan and Greg are careful not to destroy the joy these movies bought, rather they shine a light on the backstories and plot devices that we would not usually consider. This refreshed point of view gives me the opportunity to enjoy my favorite films all over again, as if I am watching them for the first time! Furthermore, I 100% agree with Tristan’s point of view on the overuse of CGI in cinemas these days. Like all of us, I long for a time where the restrictions of computer technology forced film makers to be inventive and innovative... Michael Bay could learn a thing or two. If you haven’t had a chance to listen to a Double Impact podcast, you’re only robbing your younger self of a chance to live again...

laura terrorRequired Listening! This is an epic concept, with sweet notes of nostalgia and great on-air chemistry. Can we have a breakdown of Hocus Pocus next!?

Nikki8908As a 90s kid, I love this. They always say, the music you loved during your formative years stays with you forever... but can the same be said for movies? I’m looking forward to going on that journey with these to legends to find out. Well done Tristan and Greg!
