These two have an uncanny knack for bringing sometimes horrific crimes alive. I find the episodes to be well-structured and their banter to be very entertaining. The episodes are nicely edited, and I like the way they use music.

Heath and Daphne, please be safe. The devastation in California breaks our hearts. Your podcast is wonderful as usual. Thanks for the hard work you two do each week. Most of all, please take care of yourselves.

Aren’t you cute. You consistently use language ineptly, and now you’ve made your own adorable faces the focus of your true crime stories. Live another 30-40 years and then sit by my grave and tell me how ashamed you are of your younger selves. I will understand.

I’m an avid true crime podcast listener and Going West is my favorite for their engaging content and amazing story telling. The hosts seem like such good people and are clearly passionate about what they do. Always excited when a new episode comes out! Highly recommend.

I am listening to the first episode since the announcement of being part of the Unwell Squad. The greatest difference is a the noticeable decrease in commercials which only serves to enhance the overall audience experience. This is coming from a true fan who has been listening for years. Keep up the great content.

I discovered this podcast a couple years ago and it’s really gotten me into true crime. Daphne and Heath do a great job diving into each story. I was slowly making my way into all the older episodes and still had about 40 left (that weren’t bonuses). Since the switch to a new platform, they seem to have disappeared. Is there a way to get all the older episodes back? I would love to listen to the old episodes from 2020 that I had on my list still!

Put together very well

Some episodes are really good some I think can use a little better research. The biggest issue I have is the weird moral commentary and there's some discussions that result in...nothing? I showed up hoping to be potentially helpful in learning about the missing and maybe helping spread the word. But find the episodes recently just "ok".

They seem to genuinely care about the subject matter and that comes through in how they demonstrate respect for the victims and their families. They often cover cases you won’t hear about anywhere else and I look forward to the each new episode!

Don’t be a stranger? Don’t block people on socials for having varying opinions. Heaven forbid. Also, offensive language from the chick. Hypocrite. This podcast would be better if she were not a part of it.

Great team! Interesting that this couple leaves the listeners thru the story and also answers all the questions we normally have without being overly lengthy! Perfect pick for a quality podcast!!

I’ve been listening to Going West for a while now. I truly enjoy the podcast and it’s definitely been exciting to see the overall content and quality improve since the beginning. Additionally, following you guys on social media is great because it does help the listener to feel more connected to the hosts, with that being said, I feel that Daphne talks over Heath and interrupts Heath frequently. I’ve also observed that Daphne will make a point that is unclear Heath will comment to provide an alternate point and then Daphne says “that’s what I’m saying” essentially cutting him off and making it sound like she knows more. I’m not sure if that’s just her personality or if she feels inferior, but it’s offensive. Also, there is a lot of swearing for a “clean” podcast. 4/1: I tried again. It just gets worse. I give up. 11/16: Why do I try? Judy gets worse and Daphne is just so annoying.

I like all the content except the frequent off color words are off putting.

Always focused on being respectful and informative, this podcast does the best job out of any I have listened to with humanizing the victims and keeping the focus on them rather than the perpetrators. The focus on recent and active cases and the emphasis on community action and the resources provided are to be commended, and the hosts are genuinely incredible in how thorough their research is. Keep up the incredible work, I’ll be listening for as long as you are posting episodes, and then some!

The production value is generally great and the stories are interesting but the malapropisms, redundancies, and terrible grammar is an irritating distraction. Even a proofreader would benefit this promising show significantly.

The episodes have become soooo boring, and shallow. Like they are just being pushed out for content. Miss the old content.

The research is thorough and the presentation is respectful of the victims.

Love the story telling but the way they emphasize so much importance on their personal commentaries. And the way they assume everyone is interested in their relationship. The way the guy just acquiesce to everything she says. There’s equality and there’s being someone’s B. It’s ok to naturally disagree.

I came across Going West podcast when I was searching for information on the story of Meredith Emerson, a kidnapped hiker in Dawsonville, Georgia. After listening to Daphne and Heath tell that story, I was hooked. I feel like I’m sitting down with two friends discussing the stories. Going West has kept me company on so many drives I do driving from Georgia to Memphis for work. Love you everything about it!

Tried really hard to listen but the music and background noise is SO loud. You can’t focus on what’s being said because of it. You don’t need these fillers, just speak on the important content.

Good info Told in a respect way. Good cases.

I was only listening to inhumane and crime junkies and I was struggling to find another podcast I would like & I found you guys I’ve been listening for a month or two and you guys are great always giving all the details but also make it fun to listen to ! - Krystal from Las Vegas ☀️

Not only do I love the cases that they cover but I love their added comments and speculations. They are fun to listen to.

You two have great voices, a natural cadence and flow between one another, and I love the research and way you present cases. I only wish you had new episodes daily. Yes daily. In a sea of many true crime podcasts, there are only a handful that rise to the top. Maybe you could start one on just little known mysteriously missing people where there are no known suspects. ETA: ugh--you both say GD a lot. I understand if it's not offensive to you, but please understand it IS highly offensive to some and makes me legit sad. You both are so diligent about making sure you are not offensive anyone's lifestyles on your podcast except for this one area. I listen to podcasts all day every day, and there is not a single podcast out there that has more sponsored ads than this one. Fortunately, I can skip them 30 seconds at a time, though it is annoying. Every single time.

These guys really do their research!🧐 Just a small note about the latest episode 449- around time stamp 8:36 Heath says “his mothers daughter” but I think he means “his daughters mother” 👩 I don’t know if you’d want to edit the episode or not but thought I would share!! Daphne and Heath have great chemistry. (I hop so since they are married!) I really feel like this is a super shallow podcast that gives nothing but the highlights and doesn’t bother to dig deep on anything. I’ve tried it and left and tried again multiple times and I’m always left feeling….empty.

I’m a long time listener and I just love Heath and Daphne. They are great storytellers with not a lot of banter. Just the right amount. I love when Heath sings his little songs like “Just get a Divorce”. lol 😂 Daphne is beautiful and her voice is buttery and soothing. I consider this podcast one of my top five! ❤️🙌🏼

I like y’all but this Texan couldn’t finish the 10/15/24 episode about The Phantom Killer in Texarkana due to Heath’s pronunciation of Gonzalez. There is no ‘W’ in the name no matter how you say it. Maybe a lilting ’h’ if anything but that ‘W’ is a deal killer for me LOL.

Daphne and Heath are true professionals that approach every case with wit, charm & intelligence. Their case selections are enlightening and often lesser-well-known and they treat their subjects with the utmost respect. I appreciate that they allow themselves to be vulnerable and honest with their audience, while never distracting from the real subject of their episodes: the missing and murdered.

I recently learned that your podcast does not report correct, or all information, in your episodes. If you did your research correctly and didn’t make up your own ideas that hurt the family of the victim you might have kept more listeners. You’ve lost my respect and probably the respect of many listeners after your latest episode on Courtney Coco. How disappointing of you to put an already grieving family through your inaccuracies. How many other family’s have you done this to?

Today the hosts redid an old podcast. They played a clip from the old version. Now I remember why I started listening to ‘going west’ - calm assertive voices. Now it’s mostly the hosts yelling to get a point across instead of intelligently using words. But I’m still a fan.

The insights given into the Mendez brothers are intelligent and heart felt. Heath shares the unimaginable and often discounted true life experience that so many males live a lifetime dealing with. Daphne, as is her nature, is thorough and sympathetic. This is a great 2 part episode!!!
