Mira MariaThis is the best podcast EVERI can’t even put into words how awesome this podcast is. I’ve wanted to understand the folklore and mythology of my Irish ancestors, but it’s just not something that is easily accessible like Egyptian, Greek or Roman myths. I love that the the host is truly a bard in that he makes the stories his own and let’s them grow and live through his telling, while also explaining how he adapted them and also staying true to the spirit of the sources. Thank you for doing this podcast.

MB in ConnecticutPositively enchantingI love everything about this podcast! Production quality, the theme song, the storyteller’s voice, the sound effects, the stories themselves, and a wee bit of the craic. Simply charming on every level…

ThedosTakes me back to IrelandThank you for making this podcast! Every episode reminds me of our trip to Ireland with YDU Tours. One of my highlights was having you on the bus. Singing songs and telling stories.

j0equ1nnThank you to Kevin!I’m from NY. Most of my great-grandparents were from Ireland but my family mostly does not remember the stories (though we retained our jet black sense of humor). Listening to this podcast helps me connect back to my roots in a way that the more academic content doesn’t provide. I found it at a time when that was really needed and so a warm thank you for doing this!

ShamuLove this podcastI was a little late to the fireside podcast, I just started listening in March 2020. I listen most mornings and have just started The Tain in the Ulster cycle. Kevin is a great storyteller and writer. I love his adaptations and his commentary giving more color after he tells each story.

JonnaaaaaaaaaayFantastic storytelling with a soothing voiceKevin is a very talented storyteller, sharing with us a part of Ireland’s culture in the way it was supposed to be shared. This is by far my favorite podcast, and there is nothing I would criticize about it. He has a really nice voice, too, and can fluctuate it one way or another to bring the story to life. I really liked the Diarmuid episodes, and he brought that character to life very well. Thank you Kevin.

DataTaterLovely storytellingI just discovered this and am loving it. Kevin is a great storyteller and the whole atmosphere is of sitting around with a friend telling stories. I hope he never runs out of tales.

CúChulainn432Modern Day SeanchaíI’ve always had a love of Irish legends & mythology, and there are not many podcasts that dedicate themselves fully to it. I stumbled across This podcast about two weeks ago and have been absolutely hooked from Episode I and am about to start XII. He does a great retelling of the myths and folklore, and then covers the history behind the stories. If you enjoy a good tale, Kevin is the Seanchaí you’re looking for!

LongislanderFireside is a true findMy daughter told me about Fireside a while ago. I listened to an episode and I decided to subscribe right away. This podcast is a wonderful way of escaping for while. Kevin Olohan is a great host, he has lots of fun with the podcasts and draws you into the myths and the folklore. This is a very easy listen, you will enjoy it

irisnezFantastic 💜I’ve loved myths, folklore, and fairy tales all my life & have long thought Irish tales to be the most magical & engrossing. This podcast is amazing! Fantastic tales, wonderfully told. It’s quite difficult finding any of these stories here in the states so I feel super lucky to have discovered them on this podcast!
