Jake is always delivering analysis based on the tape and I appreciate his candor, good bad or ugly. Great stuff on the new website too.

Coming from someone who doesn’t understand all the ins and outs of football, Jake does a fantastic job of helping fans understand the game! Such great work!

Compared to local radio or any of the many Browns pods this one stands out in balanced and detailed coverage. It’s the only one I sub to these days. BFB site similarly kills it.

You’d think a Browns podcast would have a lot of practice in staying enjoyable during some terrible team play but these guys prioritize the axes they want to grind.

Title. Maybe it’s the role Jake asked him to play, but I feel like I never hear anything positive from Andrew. Don’t know if I haven’t noticed it until recently but at times it feels like his sole responsibility is to bring everyone down. I understand this team has given us things to be negative about but eventually some of the fanbase has to accept this isn’t the same old Browns. Yes, they are not perfect and I expect them to be criticized when they mess up. But can we balance it out a little bit? Over the past few months I have been turning the pod off quicker and quicker because of it. I’ll call up my uncle if I wanna hear someone moan and groan about the Browns.

Fellas, I love your show. 5 stars. I listen to it every day. Religiously. You bring substance whereas the other shows are just fluff. However, I have to say that I really dread Jaguars week because neither of you pronounce the word correctly. Like Jake mispronounces “DEtroit.” 😉. There is no “i” in Jaguars. It is not Jaguires. Not sure if it’s a phonics thing or what. Appreciate you both. Thank you for considering. Go Browns!

Jake and Andrew, I’ve been a huge Browns fan all my life and an avid listener to this Podcast. Thanks for putting it together as I learn a lot from each and every episode. Great job Jake & Andrew! I am just following up with your request for more information about how the Kirtland Hornet Football team has become so successful. My wife and I have lived in Kirtland since 2000 and have two children who have and are currently going to Kirtland High School. My daughter graduated in 2021 and my son is going into his Sophmore year and plays on the Hornet football team. The Hornets football team never had success until Tiger Leverde arrived in 2004 which is when he began to transform the football program. Prior to Tiger, Kirtland would lose good players to neighboring schools such as Lake Catholic who had very good football programs. Tiger’s approach to creating a successful program was to change the culture by rebuilding the program from the ground up. As he developed the high school team, he was also focused on building the Kirtland Youth Football program as those kids are the future of the high school program. Tiger would meet with all the youth football coaches before the youth season opened to provide guidance on how to coach the kids. He also taught the youth coaches the core plays the high school team runs in order for the youth coaches to teach the boys. As a result, the boys are very familiar with Tiger’s system by the time they reach middle and high school. Tiger also creates a program that is respectful and where the kids can have fun. If you listen to any interview with Tiger, you will hear him talk about how the youth football coaches need to focus on teaching the fundamentals of football while making it fun for the kids. Winning is great but not the focus for the youth football teams. It’s all about getting the kids excited about playing the game and how it is played. Tiger also talks about how the Seniors need to mentor and help the underclassmen develop especially the freshmen boys who are the future of the program. Hazing or bullying is not tolerated. He knows the importance of family along with the kid’s studies and makes sure the boys are home in time for dinner with family while also having time for homework. He doesn’t swear nor does he allow any of his coaches to swear during practices or games. I mentioned how Tiger has changed the culture of the football program in Kirtland, but another critical component of his success is his knowledge of the game. Tiger is incredibly smart and knows the game inside and out. I coached my son in the youth program and had the opportunity to have Tiger’s youngest son on the team. Tiger would often be on the sidelines helping me and the other coaches out during practices or games. On every play Tiger would see everything that was going on during the play and talk to us coaches about strategies to take advantage of how the other team was playing us. Tiger often stops down to the sidelines for the other Kirtland youth football games as well as middle school, freshman and JV games. It’s always amazing the positive impact he has when he is on the sidelines of those games. The Kirtland teams would be struggling and when Tiger gets involved things turn around and the team starts playing much better. The program that Tiger has built has really had a positive influence on all the young men that have gone through his program. The commitment we see each and everyday from the players on the team is amazing. The weight room is open just about every day for voluntary workouts where almost every player participates. Even the day after the last game of the season, there is a high number of players in the weight room committed to getting stronger and better at the game of football. All their efforts have paid off as they continue to win 7 on 7 competitions, Lineman challenges and of course State Football Championships. Not bad for a high school football team from the small town of Kirtland. Another interesting note is that Girls High School Flag Football began in 2021. Of course, Tiger coached the Kirtland Hornets girls’ team. They won the championship that year and then won it again the following year then again, this past spring. So, they have won three championships out of the four seasons. What is really cool about this story is that Tiger has four children. Two girls and two boys. He has won State football championships with both boys and Girl’s Flag Football Championships with both girls. My daughter played on the team that won the first two championships. She loved playing for Tiger and along side his daughters and the rest of her teammates. She mentions how Tiger taught them how to play the game and would tell the girls to just go out and have fun, which they certainly do as you see the girls laughing and having a good time in every picture you see of them. My kids have grown up in a town where it has become expected for the Hornet’s to go to the championship game every year. That is all my kids have seen that the football team is always successful. I tell my kids all the time, how this is not the norm at other schools and they should feel lucky to be a part of this city, school and team. Thanks again Jake and Andrew for doing what you do. I will certainly be listening to all your future episodes on the Browns. Go Hornets and Go Browns!! John

Some of the best breakdown and coverage of the browns in Cleveland. Only negative are the ads. Their frequent and long.

I enjoyed the Deshaun Watson series and it changed my perspective. The Tennessee game gives us hope that that player is still in there. I also chose not to trade him from my dynasty team as this offense seems to be a offensive tackle away from being really good. I would suggest breakdowns on other offensive players such as Wills and Jerome Ford. We know what Cooper, Njoku and the veteran offensive lineman bring, but these two individuals have some questions marks that I think a series like this would really highlight much like what you did with Deshaun.

Very detailed gives a great perspective of the team love the analysis of the games. Will recommend to any browns fan!!!!

LOVE what Jake and Andrew do! Audio is a little soft/inconsistent, but the content is great! They do a good job of keeping everything in perspective - which as a fan is hard to do all the time. The Deshaun film breakdowns have been fun! Cool to look back on how he played and sets us up for what to expect this year. Keep up the good work! Go Brownies!!

I’m still giving this podcast a 3 star review because Jake Burns is such a joy to listen too. Browns film breakdown used to be one of my favorite podcasts and I never would miss an episode thought out the whole year. The addition of Andrew Spade has made it almost unlistenable. I still tune in from time to time but I frequently have to turn it off because I can’t stomach listening to Andrew Spades melodramatic takes on this team. He speaks with a nervous borderline panicked tone and makes you wonder if he even likes the team. I’m sorry to leave a negative review like this but with our listener feedback nothing will change. Thank you Jake for doing what you do.

I listen to just about all the Browns content out there that I can find and this is by far my favorite. This is always my first listen and go to for all things Browns. The most honest, objective and knowledgeable guys covering the team.

If you are a Browns fan and want to be a more knowledgeable Browns fan, you must subscribe and listen to this podcast. Jake is outstanding at his job. Points are extremely well thought out and presented in an interesting and informative manner. It’s a shame that he doesn’t have a better team to discuss but maybe someday he will. Andrew is hard to listen to. His constant defense to his Chicken Little thoughts is covering up potentially strong views. We get that there are questions. Express your view then please move on.

I am an AVID Browns fan and I listen to multiple podcasts a day about our boys in Berea. THIS IS THE SMARTEST BROWNS PODCAST ANYWHERE! I can’t wait to hear them breakdown the draft after we add some young talent, and the best part is they cut out all the noise! This is a professional show that always does their homework and gives the best input with out all of the noise.

Jake is one of the smartest guts doing browns coverage in large part because he’s really good at breaking down film so you know he says things for a reason and uses data to back up his points. Adding Andrew in as a co host has been great to have another voice that also has a good football knowledge. Since finding this podcast and other obr coverage, it’s been a little harder to listen to other browns talk like Ultimate Cleveland sports show and stuff like that because they don’t break down film and most of what they say is just based on their emotion of the game. I have been a listener for a long time and I really appreciate the way Jake breaks down the film but Andrew spayde makes this pod really hard to stay interested. He offers no unique perspective and can say a lot without actually saying anything. A lot of “you know…” and “right”. I prefer the solo pods or even brad ward as a guest over Andrew.

I am so glad to have found this podcast. Jake’s study of game film is first rate. The information is shared in ways that all his audience can grasp. I don’t take a lot of time to listen to podcasts due to work commitments. But I always take time to listen to Jake. Go Browns!

Hate that it replaced Cleveland Browns Daily, but Jake and Friends bring the most intelligent unbiased view of the team I’ve ever heard. If you hate the Browns, but for some reason, wanna know everything about the Browns this is the podcast for you. These guys actively think the Browns are terrible and they will let you know. Win or lose (especially important when they win) high scoring, low scoring, you know these guys are going to tell you how bad they are. but they do have detail

I listen everyday/week and enjoy Jake’s film breakdowns and high level thinking about the organization/team. However, some episodes seem to skew towards a negative view point. Although I appreciate the honest opinions given, as a listener it is tough to listen to those episodes. All in all I will continue to listen but I think Jake and company could benefit from having a slightly more positive outlook. Negativity is contagious.

Jake Burns provides the best coverage of my Cleveland Browns of anyone and I have been a die hard fan for my entire life. Provides level headed info with a clear understanding of the team and NFL football. It’s always an incredible amount of insight, wether it’s about how the organization thinks in the front office or how the games go on the field. I can’t recommend it enough.

As an ex-college football player, I really enjoy the film breakdown and football analysis Jake and his guests provide. It’s rare to hear meaningful breakdowns of coverages, fronts, route concepts, etc… in the podcast scene. This show used to be my go-to Cleveland Browns podcast; however, my minor critiques would be that the vibe has been off lately…I understand and appreciate being realistic and looking at all angles/perspectives when discussing topics, but lately I’ve found myself enjoying the show less and less because of the negativity surrounding trivial topics such as Browns uniforms, logos, etc… It’s okay to be excited for these things! I wish Jake would provide more insight on how players themselves look forward to these things as well. I’ve found myself listening less and less over the past couple months. But once the Browns start playing I’m sure I’ll fire up the more often podcast again. Overall, great podcast and keep up the good work! Go browns!

I don’t think I’ve missed an episode in over two years. It’s a must listen if you’re a Browns fan interested in learning about the X’s and O’s and getting a thorough break down. Jake does a great job with guests and his draft introduction series is one of the best I’ve heard for any team. Keep up the great work!

2018 was very good to Browns fans--7 wins, Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb, Denzel Ward, Hue sent packing, Freddie Kitchens's unlikely rise to head coach. But something else really great happened--Jake Burns showed up. He's an Xs and Os guy who makes Xs and Os really fun for people like me who find that sort of thing a little too close to high geometry and algebra (Jake himself is clearly way beyond advanced calculus). And he does it with an easy, gentle demeanor that seems to help him get the most out of his guests. And his guests keep getting better and better. Jake is without question the best analyst covering the Browns these days. It's clearly a good time to be a Browns fan. 2023 update. Much has changed for the Browns and in the world of podcasting since I wrote the review above five years ago. But one thing still holds true: Jake Burns (and the OBR) is still the gold standard for Browns analysis.
