RolthGets annoyingEDIT 2: I just can’t do it anymore. Between the terrible rules he was making up on the fly during the manticore fight I could feel some tension at the table. It’s obvious they need to quit drinking. They’re young and this podcast just feels immature. EDIT: I REALLY hate the live studio audience. Stop treating this like your garage band’s jam session and actually take the recording seriously. You even said you bought higher-end equipment so it will sound better and you have you buddy just yelling in the background. If you wanted that sound, you could have just used your cell phone. Also, seriously, learn the rules. ESPECIALLY about what provokes AoOs. Spell-like abilities provoke. Supernatural abilities do not. I really liked it until episode 25 of the main story when someone walked in and they had what they were calling a live studio audience. After that the random guy just yelling in the background is annoying. Also, it seems like they are fairly new players and they have introduced 3rd party rules and don’t seem to know rules for flight or when things get AOOs. Get the basics correct before doing all the extra. The voice acting is pretty good though. They are very talented.

MurlayOne of the best!Love the 2E content and the cast is so good!
-
Wormholer_joeGreat Crew.Does the show ever switch to Pathfinder 2? If so, what episode?
-
WarriorCatNoodleWhy did whit provoke?“When an effect forces you to move, or if you start falling, the distance you move is defined by the effect that moved you, not by your Speed. Forced movement doesn't trigger reactions that are triggered by movement. Some common causes of forced movement include the Reposition and Shove actions of Athletics. In the rare cases where it's unclear whether your movement is voluntary or forced, the GM makes the determination.” I grabbed this from archives of nethys. I’m not sure if you rule not swimming on your turn is voluntary sinking, but if not, Whit shouldn’t of provoked.

Iron_Wood_ManFirst time pathfinder listenerAfter years of being a 5e player, and listening to dozens of different 5e apps, I recently was invited into a p2e game. Listening to ap’s is my favorite way to get a quick understanding of the rules of a new system, so I looked outside of my comfort zone to find a pathfinder game. I’m very glad I did. The combo of rules complexity and great role play from the cast is great. I’m quickly binging my way through the backlog and will be a little sad when I don’t have as many eps to listen to.
-
BellandoraAbsolutely fantastic! The Hideous Laughter Podcast is both funny and roleplay focused which is an excellent combination! Also, the characters are top tier!
-
KevinDHuntStick to the game and not your politicsWhen referring to a singular character use he/she not they/them it is insanely confusing when you use a pronoun for multiple people when describing the actions of an individual.
-
cuckleberry finn#6056Team SlurpGreat actual play podcast. Tight adherence to the Pathfinder rules, cool characters, and full of twists. Igmur, Motumbe, Eclipse, and Leira are each unique and memorable.
-
Chaser84Good.Great! Right up until the political BLM nonsense.
-
OliveProcessorImpressively casualThough I know an immense amount of effort goes into this work, I think that these people manage to put on a show that feels effortlessly casual in how the voices of both the characters and the people behind them shine through. The story is good, the characters are fun, and the GM does a good job of applying pressure and horror upon the characters. It’s gotten complex and I look forward to the final ep.
-
RustikovLotta funGreat creepy themed podcast. The GM does great voices, the cast is fun and it confirms why pathfinder as my fantasy system of choice.
-
Angel BustamanteExemplifies how goofy & wonderful TRPGs can beWith a GM & Cast that deserves to be mentioned among the elite in the actual play sphere, no other podcast comes to mind that truly emphasizes how wild & weird 1E pathfinder’s character customization could be if you choose so. For any player or GM looking for inspiration on how to spice up their own pathfinder game, Hideous Laughter will provide the motivation to dig deep in your rulebooks to truly make a character or adventure path that is truly your own.

ThegreatjayrodLove this showThere’s only so much GlassCannon Pod and Pretending to be People out there, and after seeing this recommended on the GCP subreddit I’m proud to say this is now in my top three podcasts!
-
LucasGrillosBar none my favorite AP podcastI listen to a lot of AP podcasts—some very good ones—and this is my favorite. Thank you Steve for Motumbe (my favorite character)

MDCampioI know they got skillzAbout a year ago, I started with this pod because I was intrigued by the Carrion Crown AP. For the first half-dozen to a dozen episodes, it was mainly that - an inoffensive opportunity to tour the Ustalav setting. However, the HLP's audio, cast engagement, and ability to put out an engaging actual-play pod quickly matured and has steadily matured. My affection for the pod has also grown to the point where it's become an automatic download that I wait for impatiently every week. In addition to being a strong overall experience, the HLP and the pod have a ton of heart. And it shows, producing the experience of sitting at the table with friends - which is the main draw of good actual-plays for many listeners. I also can't wait for their next AP on their Patreon.

CriticallyAccursedI do like liquor and things that go boomThis is the first actual play podcast I ever listened to, and it was a great introduction to tabletop games as a podcast. From episode one, you'll feel like you're hanging out with a group of good friends as they play their favorite game of Pathfinder. While Pathfinder can be a crunchy system, the podcast rarely gets derailed by rules-discussions, but does offer you enough rule explanation to keep anyone interested in the mechanics of the game engaged. You like Pathfinder? You like liquor? You'll like this podcast.
-
LarseniowaGood attempt, sickening audio. Don’t bother.Starting with the first episode, one of the players insists on slurping multiple times from his drink at the beginning of each episode. By episode 5, the player is doing so even when it clearly makes the other player uncomfortable, and actually cares so little that he jokes that “our subscribers are going down right now.” Well, yes they are. If you can’t drunk like an adult, then you’re no mature enough to drink, and I won’t waste any more of my time on you. Avoid this show.
-
byukidSo goodReally a fantastic podcast with a great crew. Gets a little spooky at times, but overall a very good balance of action and roleplay.
-
bob lobwin the hobgoblinGreatExcellent show for anyone (pathfinder purist or not)!
-
Prairie dog cuddlerLaid Back and EnjoyableGreat for anyone interested in relaxed and fun tabletop RPG play. This group really knows how to Hamm it up.

The Young Squire PettypantsEasy going and immersiveIt’s the kind of show where you feel like you’re at the table, gripping the edges intensely and chuckling along with the cast.

TheMoulinRogueFirst Time Listener - Lifetime FollowerI just started listening after needing some variation to my podcast rotation and HLP is definitely my new go to!! Will be following these adventures til the end now, I suspect. Great work!
-
jeremyantrimGreat ListenI’ve never listened to a gaming podcast. I met the HLP at Origins and started listening. If you enjoy RPG’s and want a great story, listen! The story, characters, and slurping are all fun and a nice short listen. Easy to catch up and follow along. Thanks to the HLP group!
-
MadamZevaTeam SlurpThis actual play actual drunk podcast is actually one of my top 3 favorite things to listen to! Great folks playing a great game, having a can cracking good time! *raises ice cold Hamm's* Cheers gang, keep up the good work!

BelexvsggjcjvdvNot your run of the mill podcastI just recently started really listening to actual play podcasts. I found HLP after listening to 3 or 4 other podcasts. I was instantly hooked. They have a great chemistry together, Their characters are detailed, unique and interesting. The story they are telling is compelling. Griff is an amazing GM, Story teller, Voice man. I love that he will allow rule changes, events and fluff that make the game fun. also, the Zone of Truth show, is a refreshing look at the behind the scenes activities, Steve and Griff do an excellent zone, teaching about podcasting, talking about their passions and in general are just entertaining. On an additional note, The podcast isnt it stops. whether on their subreddit, twitter or discord, all the cast members are down to earth and amazing people to talk to and get to know. If you have any questions about their show or pathfinder, or just need help with your character they are more than willing to help. all of the above mentioned reason are why this podcast has become my favorite and after talking with these amazing people i know they will only continue to be successful and bring out amazing content! ~Kevin

Gaming On The RocksTeam Slurp For DaysYet another group of good friends that can easily been seen sitting at our own gaming table. Very friendly and open to engagement with fans online further cements this view. A good mix of rp and drama with some breaks for their on-topic-off-topic side cast talking about a variety of gaming topics. No regrets come from listening to the HLP crew.
-
fearfull daveReally enjoyableSolid actual play podcast, great audio quality and chemistry around the table. Give it a listen
-
Bcopeland158Fantastic Live PlayHave been addicted to the podcast and I'm nearly caught up. Strong characters and a well told story that doesn't go off the rails like so many similar podcasts. Keep up the good work.
-
Lavitz186Great group of folksJust picked up on this podcast a couple weeks ago and binged every episode, these folks are hilarious and very friendly. Also active as hell on their discord and give you loads of drink choices, ha.
-
LycanthropistSpoopy HilarityJust picked up this pod, on episode 10 now. The cast does a fantastic job with their characters, while the GM is great with his NPC voice work. The horror vibes and creepy tone are well presented while still keeping it light and funny. Irreverant and dedicated to the game, Hideous Laughter Podcast is a wonderful representation of bringing a home table into a great show. Keep up the good work y'all and keep slurpin'. Cheers from Southern Tomfoolery crew!
-
rbkelley2118Great listenFantastic cast. Very interesting characters and the gm is amazing. Absolutely love it
-
PiercedpeekachuGreat listen!Got to say I’m on team #noslurp it’s the worst part of each episode. The characters are great, love how ick is played. The game master is great with setting up horror and has kept me on edge a few times. If you can get past the slurping in the beginning you will not be disappointed and now with the zone of truth it’s even better. Would love to hear about the backup characters and ideas for future backups. Keep up the great show and here is to a long promising show. Enjoy “The Crit 1” I told you about on Instagram

GjeisapoSolid pathfinder API am binging this podcast - skipping the evil episodes for now so I can follow the main story. Once I get caught up, I won’t be able to smirk at the regular cliffhangers and will be eagerly awaiting the next episode. I’m enjoying hearing the players get more comfortable in their characters. I love the dramatic can openings. At first I thought ikmurs character voice would be too goofy but he’s shown such depth of emotion as well as comedic timing (during detective work, eg) that I am completely won over. So glad I heard about this podcast on Find The Path!

DioxiaRioA Podcast DarklyHonestly I have to say, This podcast has become one of my top 3 favorites. Griffin is an incredible GM, with a talent for voicing his NPC's. The players may break character for a few laughs, but as characters they don't mix their player knowledge and character knowledge. Even if it means it will hurt. The players leave you emotionally invested in thier characters after each episode. The people themselves? Awesome folks. Join their discord. They are openminded, interactive, and really funny. I have a lot of social anxiety and joining the podcast community last year has filled my life with the most supportive and wholesome people I have ever met. Do yourself a favor and be a part of the growing Carrion Crowd. The pod is great and the people are better. <3 ~Robin

Buster KnuckleThis podcast got HammsI’m going to say this..... I love this podcast! The group has a chemistry that Ttrpg gm’s dream of and Griff is a fantastic Gm! The evil interludes are a high point for me personally as I am a fan of evil campaigns. I know you may be thinking Team slurp or team no slurp for this reviewer........#TeamSlurp also can Nana opel send me some cookies please!!!!! If I could give more then 5 stars I would but alas I can’t so 5 stars across the board. Keep up the fantastic work HLP crew!

abby guzauskasA hideously laughing good timeThis is my first time listening to any tabletop role playing game and I thoroughly enjoy it! While I may not know all the rules, the group makes it easy to follow along without getting too technical. You can tell that the players are great friends in real life which makes it more fun, like you’re in on all the jokes. My impression of ttrpg before listening to this podcast was that they’re intense and heavily based on rules, which is why I love that they incorporate drinking as it gives the atmosphere a much more relaxed and fun feel. Also, I just love finding out what concoctions they’ve put together every week, and of course, who doesn’t love listening to the infamous Steve slurp of Hamms! Overall, the character developments and the GM’s voices are super impressive. So even if you think that it’d be hard to get into because roleplaying games aren’t your “thing” and you’re totally ignorant to the rules (like myself) you should still give it a listen! You’ll be surprised at how fast that hour goes by and you’re sad you have to wait another week for the next one. - Abby Guzauskas

YoyotooiooTo the future Horus Hideous O spellcastSome of my favorite characters in any actual play podcast, backed by a great setting. Synergy is great. Side characters a work of art. PLEASE no mo #teamnoslurp episodes. Feel the slurp!
-
Romer74Great Show, GREAT QualityGreat show with a great cast. Sound and recording quality is amazing! Started another show doing this AP, but the quality was terrible. Not questions on this show. I am apart of #TeamSlurp Not sure what that is? Listen to the show and find out!
-
BrusselsSproutsA really lovable group! This is a fantastic podcast! A great group of players with intersting, likable characters, and a wonderful GM. I'm so happy to have found this group <3
-
FunhamilFrom the Land of Sky Blue watersThis is a great play podcast but it really earns the 5 stars because the one dude drinks Hamms Beer.
-
mrjasonclarkSounds like they genuinely have fun and that makes me smile on my way to workI absolutely love everyone on the show. All the players really get into the character backstory. Don’t even get me started on the GM, incredible in every way! Sounds like they genuinely have fun and that makes me smile on my way to work.
-
AZakOfOpportunity"Better than Milk!" -HoraceI love this podcast.Technically: This podcast is high quality with decent editing, all of the players have good mic discipline. Each player has taken time to work with Griff to developv interesting PCs (cool archetypes!) with engaging backstory + play their character true to form. Griff is clearly creative + talented, bringing his own ideas to the CC AP ( he has surprisingly good voice acting too!) The pacing is good, the play is casual (though folks obviously do try to stick to the complicated rules of pf). I'd absolutely love to play a game with these folks!
-
Ikmur's LoinclothMost I've Laughed In A WhileThis show is hilarious! I love the callbacks they do to prior episodes all throughout the campaign and I love that Horace keeps showing up! Horace 2020 #teamslurp for life!

Dice WhispererHorror TTRPG at its FinestThis podcast provides a unique, loose table-top setting married to an intense horror adventure. The players and GM clearly like to enjoy themselves, but they take the story very seriously and it pays off! I would recommend this among the best pathfinder actual play podcasts I have heard. I love that they let us know what they are drinking, thinking, and feeling. It lets me know that these are authentic players at the table and that they are as invested in what they are creating as the people who are listening. You would be well served to give them a listen!

Team SlurpDrunk adventures are the best adventures...!This podcast is the HIGHLIGHTof my week when a new episode releases every Thursday! The cast of Hideous Laughter podcast is hilarious, and it's hard to stop myself from laughing outloud when I listen to it in public. The GM is absolutely fantasic, and the characters are super cool. I am a HUGE fan of this podcast and the people. They are so genuine, and I can tell they truly care about all of their fans and appreciate their support. I had never heard of pathfinder before this, but now I am so involved in the storyline and characters that I can't stop listening... Highly recommned this podcast to anyone looking for some spooky adventures and a good laugh.

WazzuptimQuality Pathfinder Pod in a Sea of MediocreNot to put down other actual play podcasts, because I enjoy quite a few of them, but it's been really hard for me to find one that is as great of quality as the HLP. You can tell it's a pure passion project from the GM and the players, and it shows through in everything from the audio quality, to the character voices, to the tight editing. As someone who isn't always able to plow through hours and hours of podcasts, the 1 hours episodes are a good length and the story doesn't drag. For those of you looking for more, there's occasionally longer sessions that involve an incredible home-brewed side story. And of course, they're playing through one of Paizo's adventure paths which are always incredibly well written. 10/10 spooky scary.
-
TimBartling712Top quality actual play podcastA really fun podcast. Great characters and great storytelling. There is a really good chemistry between all the players and it just makes it a lot of fun to listen too.
-
FrVesselHorror fantasy AP done RIGHTI cant believe I haven’t already reviewed - thought I had! A very fun show with a dynamic cast that doesn’t mind chasing the occasional rabbit hole in the name of a good story. A great team that’s building some great community in the TTRPG podcast niche - thanks for all the fun, friends!
