A fun way to stay up to date with evidence-based medicine
I always enjoy this podcast - Dr. Chapa is genuine, thorough, and has a great sense of humor. I am a PA and I work in a small practice, so staying up-to-date is something I have to be proactive about and this podcast helps me to stay informed! Thanks Dr. Chapa and team!!

    Long time fan!
I’m a certified nurse-midwife that works in a practice with high and low risk patients. Absolutely love and recommend this podcast to everyone in OB - providers, nurses, and students. Outstanding evidence reviews, well written episodes, and delivered with the expertise and humor of a long time teacher that likes to teach. Keep up the great work team!

wish I could give it a zero
The forced-birth, misogynist and overtly racist undertones of his IG & podcast are not in line with the ‘evidence-based” stance he purports to have, and are in direct opposition to being an advocate for women’s health. Forced birth (ie anti-choice) patriarchal rhetoric is the opposite of evidence-based, is very anti-women and calls into question the validity of ALL his podcasts. Hard pass & very disappointed.
  • SlammyJoeBlammy
    Unfortunate
His anti-choice and pro Trump agenda has unfortunately colored his work and now this podcast. I guess he feels in this climate he can be freely and openly racist and misogynistic without any pushback. Blessed is the fruitcake

    Hard pass
I used to enjoy this podcast, however with the increase in anti-choice and racists undertones, I cannot support Dr. Chapa any longer. Using his platform to promote such hateful garbage gives shame to him as a representative of the field of OB/Gyn. Not worth your time.

Dr Chapa is the best of what we as doctors aspire to be. Informed with the best literature, able to translate the information in a way it can be understood and used and always with an eye towards making us all better at what we do. I am a fan

Dr. Chapa is the best .
I have listened to Dr. Chapa’s podcast for 5 years! I love his passion, humor, and style. Perfect for women’s health information. Keep it up Dr. C… we love you.

    Former fan
I used to love this podcast but it has become clear Dr. Chapa is anti-woman, anti-choice and a forced birther. I always thought he loved to hear his own voice because of his never ending ramblings, but it’s so disappointing to have an Ob-gyn who is so out of touch with what women deserve.
  • Great app and service !

Evidence based medicine with a strong moral stance!

    Very evidence based. Thank you
  • EllVill
    Pro Trump
This OBGYN is a pro Trump, forced birth provider and has no place in the OBGYN world. He should not have a platform to discuss these matters
  • ObMomma
    Questionable character
This podcast claims to present evidence-based medicine, but the host’s biases undermine that mission. Despite positioning themselves as an advocate for women’s health, their stance on reproductive rights suggests otherwise. Listeners seeking truly patient-centered, evidence-based OB/GYN perspectives may want to look elsewhere.
  • savvyb23
    Very educational
Fantastic, evidence based and worth the listen, every time
  • unimpressed obgyn
Would give it a 0 if I could
He’s openly okay with being racist on his instagram page. Should be ashamed with what he is sharing and what he believes.

Great CME for OB/gyns (and non OB/gyns)
I came across this podcast when I needed to study for my Oral Boards… it was so great and helped me brush up on the info I learned over my years in residency. I even listened to my most challenging subjects on the drive to the test… it’s great because he has one for pretty much every topic out there! Now, I use it to keep up with the ever changing evidence based medicine. Can’t recommend enough!
  • Izzninja
    Thank you!!
Thank you for taking the time and energy to present evidence based pearls for all of us
  • Dr. Mahate Parker
One of the TOP OBGYN Podcast out there.
Dr. Chaos's podcast is one of the best out there. He has very helpful clinical pearls that I have actually used in the office to help patients. I would highly recommend his podcast!

    Amazing Podcast
I really love this podcast. UpToDate relevant information you can use right away in your practice. It’s been so helpful for me!
  • Preggodoc
    Love Dr Chapa
Being out of residence now more than 10 years, Dr Chapa is a go-to for keeping my knowledge up to date. He’s a voice of reason and simply fun to listen to. Appreciate you Dr Chapa!

    Bleh
So much blathering on; so little clinical info. Comes across condescending and full of himself. There’s way better sources of ebm for obgyns than this fluff.
  • Ana Marylee
    Ads galore
Cannot stand the multiple ads in every episode. Talks too much but doesn’t get to the point. Also can’t trust he is not introducing bias as his social media is clearly anti women.
  • LJnew momma
    forced birther on a tangent
Previously enjoyed staying up to date but his (self-proclaimed) adhd ramblings waste so much time and now he confirmed himself as a forced birther on IG. i can no longer trust him as a source of information about women’s care when he is anti-woman. bye
  • DrJenGunter
    Forced Birther
This doctor posted a forced birth (anti choice) statement on Instagram. Forced birthers are by definition not evidence based and cherry pick the literature to promote a patriarchal agenda. This calls into question the accuracy of ALL of his podcasts.
  • Avery2012!
    Terrible Misogynist
This man is not a women’s health advocate/ally.
  • CarolitaB
    Warning
While Dr. Chapa may be sharing some evidence based medicine, be very cautious listening to any podcast of his due to his extreme right political views that he is sharing on his instagram. As OBGYNs, we need to stand up for women’s rights. Full stop.
  • Mbloomen
    Unfollow
No longer a reliable source since he has started posting anti-choice and politically motivated content. You can’t espouse EBM and support an administration that is steep in conspiracy and lies. So disappointing.
  • IzzaBern
    Cancel him
Dr Chapa purports to follow evidence based medicine but instead in real life is patriarchal & posts non-evidence based & racist material. He needs to be canceled as he is not a valid resource or leader in our field.
  • AnOBGYN
    Selective about evidence
You can’t claim to be an evidence based podcast about women’s health, yet ignore evidence that doesn’t fit with your social/ideological preferences. I would not trust information from this podcast - looks like there is a significant bias in which data are included.
  • JVDMD
    Don’t waste your time
No one wants to listen to a racist forced birther who aligns with facists
  • NateMFMFellow
    Excellent Podcast
This is a fantastic evidence based podcast. Reviewing the literature to create this type of podcast requires tons of work. I enjoy his distillations of complicated topics and his ability to concisely and accurately review the literature. In my opinion this is the best OB podcast.
  • Victoriabx3
    Changed over time
This used to be great but honestly now he just drones on and chatters and repeats himself to make the podcast longer I guess (for ads?) and I just keep pressing fast forward to get to the actual pearls. I like his personality and some chit chat but it’s too much now.
  • aPolska
    Excellent
Great to listen to on the commute, nuanced but also concise!

    No longer clinical pearls
This podcast used to be so helpful and I really enjoyed it. However, there are now SO many episodes released each week and the episodes don’t focus on “clinical pearls” and high yield info but seem to drag on and on with chatter, digressions, etc. and the actually useful info is difficult to dissect out. I honestly cannot listen anymore and think this is unfortunate as I felt this was a very helpful podcast at one point.
  • ANMBell
    Fantastic!
Thank you so much Dr Chapa! I enjoy listening to this podcast to and from work. The clinical tidbits have been invaluable in my practice and are a great jumping off points to delve into new literature.
  • oakhh3
    Astounding
Where/how does he find the time to absorb and then report on all this info so quickly and precisely?!!?! Makes me feel like I need to do residency all over again. So grateful for this podcast esp since I’m more of an auditory learner. My only criticism is some of his non medical commentary is inappropriate. For example, when he referenced the explicit scene with Halle Berry in Monster’s Ball. Or when he comments on the attractiveness of women. Respectfully, please omit that commentary.

LOVE this show! When will you review CSP!?
I’ve been an avid listener for years and recommend this podcast to my colleagues, residents and med students. The breadth and depth of topics covered is incredible (and like all good things in medicine: reliable and accurate)! I’ve been waiting for YEARS for the topic of *management of c-scar pregnancy* to come up 🤓 but I’m still waiting! It is increasingly common, has high morbidity and mortality and an astounding range of approaches to management. There is still a dearth of comprehensive guidelines to turn to for assistance with decision-making, which varies dramatically by region, institution, subspecialty and individual experience. Fingers crossed for CSP to make its way to the top of the queue!!

    Love the info, too long
Great information on so many applicable topics to my profession. I appreciate the time and care spent picking relevant topics. These podcasts used to be shorter. I find it’s harder to keep up because they are not a commuter length (30ish min car trip) like they used to be. Sometimes he goes off on tangents that don’t need to be included, and better editing could keep them shorter so I could keep up. I assume everyone listening also has limited free time. More 15-30 min lengths please?
  • Luz317
    Too much repetition!
Love the topics, and frequency of new episodes. Your voice and tone are also great, keeps my attention…but the constant repetition of all of the speaking points drives me up a wall sometime. In the intro, he states the topic/s *SEveral time. Then during the episode, he beats the horse to death with continually repeating the key points. Really enjoy the topics/episodes but would love to see less repetition of key points

    Best
He has a gift for distillingguidlines, evidence based information that make us all better clinically- I can’t believe how well he takes those “I wonder moments if” in clinic and brings all the evidence!

    Love this podcast!!
Dr Chapa covers such an array of OB/GYN topics, and does a great job summarizing the latest societal guidelines as well as recently published research studies. Hope he continues to make them!
  • nwhittak
    My FAVORITE podcast!
I love keeping up with this podcast! It is fun and easy to listen to while learning very well summarized & up to date evidence based medicine! Very relevant and interesting material which is well presented by Dr. Chapa’s down to earth and likeable personality. Thank you Dr. Chapa for putting so much work into this.

Cadence of voice is impossible to listen to
The content of this podcast seems excellent but I can’t get through even 30 seconds without feeling intense anxiety/frustration. Why speak in this cartoonish way by emphasizing so many words in each sentence? You do not help make your message more clear when you do this - it’s only distracting.
