Mysterious Circumstances

-Crime/Mysteries/Paranormal/History-
- A podcast that dives deep into the unsolved and interesting, with an unpolished and unscripted “pirate radio” style. If you like a conversational style podcast about mysterious stuff, you'll love this!!

From 'PODCAST MAGAZINE' : Host Justin Rimmel does a solid job of making listeners feel like we are in the room with him while he shares particularly weird cases he comes across. If old-fashioned true-crime stories are your thing, you will certainly find them on Mysterious Circumstances, too. Justin also does a good job of being a bit skeptical when covering cases. While he doesn’t discount anything paranormal from the start, he does bring in reason and common sense. Whether you are looking for something a little different from the typical true-crime podcasts, or a little scarier, give Mysterious Circumstances a listen.

    🖤
Mysterious Circumstances was the first podcast I ever listened to, I understand I was way late to the game! But listening to Justin over the years is just like listening to a friend just tell a story, he is intelligent, passionate, and 100 percent genuine. Thank you for all your hard work.
  • Whathecrap
    Terrible
Bad speaker bad story tell. Monotone and vulgar. Don’t waste your time on this podcast

    Gratuitous expletives
I’d give this podcast at least four stars if Justin’s vocabulary wasn’t so limited. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not normally one to say a thing about the occasional curse word because I use them too… occasionally. But, if you’re reading this before listening to your first episode, be prepared to hear the f-bomb (among other expletives) at least once in every other sentence. Honest to goodness, if Justin’s voice wasn’t so deep, I would think a 12 year-old trying to act like hot stuff was recording this Podcast. It’s unfortunate, really, because the topics he covers are pretty unique and interesting in that “Unsolved Mysteries” TV show kind of way.

    Love it!
I absolutely love this podcast! I’m a new listener and am so happy I found it! Justin does incredible research and it’s like I’m chatting with a friend when I listen to him. Keep doing what you do, it’s great!

    A+
I loved the Charles Walton episode. Justin regularly fibs stories that I have not heard, and that isn't easy. I am so over Jon Benetton, Gypsy Rose and the hosts doing the latest Dateline episodes a month later. I recommend this.

    Entertaining and informative
I stumbled on the podcast a few weeks ago and have been bingeing during work. I really like how much information Justin and the cohosts bring to the episodes. I honestly don’t even notice the cussing, but then again I cuss colorful enough to make a sailor blush. The only thing I have found a little annoying is sometimes during episodes with the cohosts, the cohosts sound is off and kind of scratchy. Still a great show and continue to listen.

    Podcast
Listen to the Alaskan Avenger episode. Justin brings nothing but the facts (and a beer can) to the table. He finds and presents the mysterious circumstances that every other podcast are too scared to talk about. Get ready for the brutal facts, midwestern dad humor and a field of conspiracies. You can’t go wrong with this podcast!

Well if you like f-bombs every other word then this clown is for you.Research and story we’re OK but presentation lacks class.

    Awesome
The first time I’ve heard of Justin. Was at the live show in Fort Wayne. I am kind of new to podcast. I got to hear his live. It was captivated. I talk to him for a few minutes. He actually invited me and my wife to go eat with him. Stand up dude I love his content. I am absolutely hooked.

    Love 💛
Love the show! But Justin where did you go?? It’s been so long since you released an episode, quit torturing us already and drop a new one!

    Ignorance is bliss
On. recent guest appearances on Killafornia Dreaming Justin does not seem to know that many Europeans are multilingual. He seems to be impressed by a twenty-something knowing multiple languages. It is also common for Europeans to eat with the fork in their left hands. It is more common for Americans to shift a fork to the right hand after cutting food. Also, back in the mid 90’s USA Today newspaper would have been common in larger European cities, along with the International Herald Tribune. Finally, LSD was not introduced for use until after WWII. So it could not have been use been used clandestinely during WWII. But he’s a good guy.

    Ad overload
Apparently, this 'podcast' is an experiment to see how high of an ad ratio listeners will tolerate before recognizing it's an experiment. The content, on the other hand, was… Hey, was there any content? Don't remember.

    LOVE
I love this Podcast. I’ve been listening since august 2022, sad I didn’t get into podcasts until then. I found MC looking for John Dillinger content and this was my first stop and I haven’t left since. I love the well-placed f-bombs, I love the outside of the box thinking and I love the content. I have recommended this podcast to many, many people. From one Hoosier to another, keep on keepin on, Justin!

    Excellent Podcast!
I love this podcast! Justin does a great job with thoroughly researching his topics, and even if I’ve listened to other podcasts who covered the same subject, I always learn something new. He has a casual, friendly story telling style. It feels like having a convo with a friend! Don’t listen to the haters! Keep doing what you do!

    Wow, wow, wow!
I am in my 50s and had never listened to podcasts. I had a road trip and decided to try one out and I thought it would be like an audio book. I was completely sucked in to Justin’s conversation and am so impressed by his genuineness, his knowledge that would only come through hours of research and preparation, and his complete professionalism. I specifically enjoy feeling like we are just sitting at a table drinking a beer while he is just telling me a story. I’m hooked!! I’ve been listening now to Blood and Dust, too, besides Mysterious Circumstances, and listen as much as I can, and sometimes repeat episodes. :). I’ve tried a few other folks out, but keep coming back to a “Justin” creation because I compare everyone else to him now and they just don’t stack up. If i had tried out anyone other than Justin, I probably would’ve clicked the show off, so I’m thankful for the great entertainment and intellectual stimulation you are providing your listeners. If you ever come toward Charlotte NC to do a show or investigation, let me know- I’ll buy you a beer. or Five. LOL - A grateful fan Bob J

    Love it!
Just recently found this podcast while looking for episodes about Jesse James and, now, Im hooked. Justin is an amazing host with just enough humor and personal opinions sprinkled in to keep it fun.

    Love the podcast
Love listening to the podcast at work helps me get through my day and always keeps things interesting. Feels like I’m hanging out with Justin and seems like a guy I’d love to get a beer with. Keep up the great work. P.S. would love for you to roast me like a 1 star

The review left about the case by some other person said you did not go into the cased how could they know there was more if they did not have a part of this case. The case is exactly how you told it… and i respect anyone who is willing to tell the truth when so many are not…

Been listening several months now. Best podcast out there in my opinion.
Just listened to the wild Bill Interview. It was great. I hope there will be more.

I enjoy the show for the most part but the constant cussing gets old quick.

    Very interesting
I have tried many podcasts , I rate them by the voice mostly, I enjoy listening to Justin. Doesn’t bother me he uses some 4 letter words. He does his research and is just as baffles at what happen to the person as I am. I really enjoy your podcast. Keep up the gd work Justin Sincerely Jdf

    The Literal BEST
I love this show. Justin, you are amazing. Your show is so well done. The conversational style— it’s like an old friend or cousin telling you a compelling story. Your topics are varied and always intriguing. I can and do listen for hours. Also, your roasting of bad reviews has me rolling laughing. KEEP ON BEING AWESOME. Love you!

Please don’t change a thing. I love the fact they can’t label this podcast as true crime, history or paranormal it’s a great mixture of it all and keeps everything from being repetitive and boring. Your topics and content is so interesting the F bombs float by without me noticing. Thanks for the hours of nonpolitical entertainment, as for your haters they need to stay on their couch drinking their buttermilk while watching Matlock. Keep doing what you’re doing!
  • MNfanatic
    Meh
Not a show for me but I’ve listened to a few episodes. Too much rambling and repeating self. Guests are usually way too quiet. Got tired of getting my ears blown out so just didn’t hear half the conversation/story when there’s a co-host. Don’t mind the profanity at all. Host is usually quite shocked to learn a case has already been covered. There’s millions of podcasts covering true crime. The shocking part is if only 1 or 2 cover a case.
  • Beachboy 51
    Love it.
Justin is a fantastic researcher. His presentation of each subject is excellent. I’m 65 years and have always been a history buff. His research on Jesse James and Billy The Kid was eye opening for this old man.
  • Dtkeeper
    Why the profanity?
Not great, but not a bad show. But, I’m almost to the point of not listening anymore because I don’t think I can stand any more of the needless, highly distracting, immature profanity. Come on, man!
  • Chelojelo
    Hooked
The host is interested in more than just true crime stories. He also delves into stories and wonderment of the esoteric world, which is awesome. I love his voice, so nice to listen to. Volume is adequate. Uploads are consistent.
  • Hispanic and Lov'n Her
THANK YOU! Great podcast and AMAZING RESEARCH
I love your podcast! It’s informative, and there are times that I laugh out loud (I’m talking about the snake story on your cousin’s property). I love history and you bring it EVERY. TIME. As a lifelong student of history, I can be highly discerning when it comes to historical podcasts, but you astound me every time. Although, as a Hoosier, I may be biased, but there are lots of Hoosiers that I don’t like. Thank you for all you do.

Interesting and unique topics, but way too much profanity. I’m not sure how much more I can listen to this podcast.

    Awesome
Discovered this podcast as a fan of Blood & Dust. Wish I’d found it sooner! So much interesting and diverse content. Scrolling through all the episodes, I didn’t know where to start. Excellent research & greatly appreciate Justin’s open-minded yet practical approach to all subjects. Like a good friend who just so happens to know a lot about everything 👍 Can’t wait for all the good stuff ahead.

Hi there. Or should I be saying howdy😎 I am really enjoying listening to you, found this trying out Beyond Bizarre. After falling asleep to that episode of Patsy Wright, not once but twice, I’m now on the third starting at the beginning (fully awake). Which is a compliment to your storytelling.
  • samrox
    Great Podcast
I very much like Mr. Rimmel’s style and enjoy his humor and excellent content. Way better than similar shows where it’s just a recording of phone interviews or ones where everyone is on the phone and all they do is interrupt and frustrate each other not to mention the listener. Very glad I found this one! His level of respectability for the victims is admirable yet he doesn’t hold much back otherwise regarding suspects, theories or investigative practices and/or lack thereof. Well done 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

This guy will send pictures of his penis to your wife and not have any consideration of a marriage. Don’t support someone who can’t admit he messed up and own up to it, instead he will block you because he’s a coward. He most likely does this to any other female on social media.

    3 year Review update
It's been three years since my last review for MC. I can proudlt say, I'm still listening. After the first year I so, I tend to drop podcasts. Seldom will I hang on to a podcast and MC is one of them. The wide range of subjects and the research is amazing. Justin loves id podcast and it shows. For any haters out there, if it's not for you, just move on man. There is no need in knocking on someone's hard work just because your not in to it. Proud fan and will be for a long long time! -HHH Media-

Actually heard about you from listening to Hillbilly Horror Stories and I’m glad I did. Not only is your approach and content great but listening to another member of the Fort Fun community is very cool to hear. Just finished the entire catalog and it was amazing to hear your progression to where you are now. Props! J

    So Good!!
I love love LOVE this podcast! The research is top notch, the information is presented like you’re having a discussion with a friend and it really keeps my interest. I really enjoy finding out the tidbits that aren’t really common knowledge like with the Wild West episodes or cases that I haven’t heard of, which is rare. I think makes it that much more intriguing. Keep up the great work, definitely one of my favorite podcasts 😊
