Old Goat in VTIf you eat, breathe, sweat and live snowboarding...If you’re one of the many utterly addicted snowboarders, skateboarders and surfers in the world, and always want to know the deeper tales behind the characters that make up “the scene”. Enter Matt Barr - a guy who has lived the sideways lifestyle for decades, from grom skater in Manchester UK through editing Whitelines snowboard magazine, multiple industry influence positions and to now as curator of snowboard history and interviewer to the stars. What stands out in these podcasts is the meticulous research Matt does prior to the interviews, and the easy almost chummy delivery that masterfully disguises the work and manifests as a bloody good chat between mates. It’s a tough trick to pull off, especially with people in the genres being interviewed. It’s not just snowboarding though. Matt has such a huge Rolodex (if you remember those) that guests appear from all sideways sports, snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing. No matter the guest and discipline, the podcasts are always delivered with utter professionalism and style. The resulting product is an easy listen, perfect for drive time. As Matt would undoubtedly say “Nice one!” I totally recommend this podcast for anyone addicted to moving sideways.

MA ProjectsRad, Radical, and Thought ProvokingLooking Sideways offers an unabashedly thoughtful take on our the act of getting radical (no matter what your board looks like.) Despite the occasional big word, the host always comes off like one of us- A little older, a little wiser, but still in love with the people, places, and stories that define our culture.

The Adventure GentAmazingly different action sports podcastI drive up to 9 hours a day as a delivery driver and I go through music and podcasts like it’s nobody’s business. And every week I look forward to another episode from the looking sideways podcast. Matt Barr always gets the most interesting topics out of his guests and many of these people I’ve looked up to and idolized all my life. It’s refreshing to hear them talk about topics other then there achievements and how great everyone thinks they are. I’m even more stoked on the type 2 podcast and can’t wait to see the guests you have on there. I look forward to many more amazing podcasts and think for the 100th episode Kelly Slater would be an awesome one!!! Or maybe that would be a great type two show. Keep up the good work!!!

Chris in San FranciscoPowder day in a podcast! An engaging and thoughtful podcast uncovering the most compelling stories in action sports and other related undeavours. These aren't your standard or obvious interviews, these are well thought through, intelligent, and articulate conversations that have a meandering pace all of their own. Words of wisdom, and unique insights, are carefully unearthed by a likeminded and relatable Matt Barr. If you've ever considered skating, surfing, or snowboarding something more than just a hobby, this is for you.

Elliott ChafferLoving this. Thank youStellar job Matt. Keep it up man. I get so many nuggets from each episode. Also I love to hear you mention the Shoreham hot pipes. When I went to Brighton Poly that was my break (as well as Cairo’s, Barbour wall and the marina). When you’re in New York next give me a shout. There are some great surfers and shapers out here you should connect with.
