    This is AMAZING
I’ve been listing to this since Covid and it really helped me get through it. I also discovered my love for DnD from this. I really love the episodes and was sad when they stopped releasing them. I’ll just say thank you for making this podcast because I have really enjoyed it. Keep doing what you have and again, thank you.

    An Epic DnD Podcast
I have followed this podcast since the beginning, and it is truly a wonder to behold. Everything from the world building to the soundtrack is completely on point. With the original Orinthal episodes being a good introduction adventure with a mix of great combat and interesting lore, it gives a good foundation for the rest of the story in Sharpened Quill and Rumble Squad. Sharpened Quill takes the intrigue parts of Orinthal and builds off it greatly, though it has its fair share of combat too. Rumble Squad focuses mainly on combat but also has a ton of lore as well. The Rules episodes give great rule advice and debate for both the novice and veteran Dungeon Master alike. The cast make their characters captivating with a combination of good backstory and great acting. Overall this podcast is definitely well worth the listen and is a great boon to players and dungeon masters of all skill levels.

Thank You for an Amazing Story!!
Thank you so much for this amazing podcast. The story line is so intricate and well thought out, and perfectly combines the backstories of all of the PCs. I absolutely love the characters, and the different dynamics in both Sharpened Quill and Rumble Squad, although Sharpened Quill is my favorite of all. I love the focus on role play, character growth, and mystery, and the detail of the backstories of Belinda, Akiva, Scriv, and Nissa, although Scriv is my absolute favorite. This podcast means so much to me, and I rely on it so much as an escape to another world. There is the perfect mix of humor and drama, fantasy and real emotions, and I really appreciate it being clean. Overall, this is the perfect podcast, and I appreciate all that it’s done for me as an escape, and I feel like I can live vicariously through you guys and your characters. I really hope all of you are healthy and recovering, and when everyone is better, I am really looking forward to the continuation of this wonderful story.

    Great podcast!
This is truly a great podcast! The rules episodes are very helpful and funny! And don’t even get me started on the campaigns! Serviceable plots is an amazing story, and the characters are well played and I have to admit I almost cried at some points! Rumble squad is hilarious and the role play is some of the best I’ve heard. I know Great podcast is what everyone says, but it’s truly the only words to describe this! You should definitely give this a try. You won’t regret it!

    The best
By far, my favorite dungeons and dragons podcast! I love Rachel’s jokes, Bethanys play style, Nissa’s(can’t remember players name) creativity, Tony’s organisation, and all the other folks are over at dnd RAW. Best, Thatgamer1234

    Great Podcast.
I love the characters, DMing, and Bethany’s laugh. A great time, everytime. Well, I not real excited about the non DnD content but even this is performed and produced with the expected level of precision and fun. Don’t forget their Patreon!

Difficult to believe it’s not scripted!
I do not, in any way, mean this negatively. I am more commenting on the impressive dming, editing, and role playing from the cast. I have listened to over 100 episodes in the past 2 weeks an I really love the podcast. Keep up the good work! And thank you.

    Phenomenal
Phenomenal actual play 5e podcast. Affable DM and players who know the game and keep the pace brisk without sacrificing role play or detail. Highly recommended.

You guys are LITERALLY the best!
So I have a lot of spare time, and don’t really have anything to do with it. My friend Eric actually recommended that i listen to podcasts about things that I like, and I found this podcast. It is everything I was looking for and more. You guys make everything fun and interesting. Definitely a worthwhile podcast. I’ve also learned a lot. It’s nice that there’s people out there that have such an understanding of the rules, and share that understanding with the others who listen. I’ve definitely learned a lot. Keep up the good work!

One of the three best DnD podcasts!
There are two reasons why I listen to your podcast. One: You sound professional! Two: You don’t curse that much (and if you do, you bleep it out)! You, Sneak Attack, and Titans of Al’terra are the three best DnD podcasts that any DnD player or fan should listen to!!! 👍 P.S. Also, can you interview Reid from Sneak Attack? And at some point, Josh from The Titans of All’Terra (which comes out November 1)?

    Good story, good people
Not only is the story and quality of DnD Raw something to write home about, the people behind the podcast are genuine, kind, and someone you would want as your neighbor. 15/10 would recommend both story arcs.

    An Exceptional Podcast
This podcast is a rare find amoung a superfluous number of role playing podcast. I’m consistently grateful and amazed at quality and care that is put into the world building, editing, and every other aspect of the podcast. The rule episodes are educational and fun, the actual play starts off strong and only gets better, the players truly enjoy playing their characters and consistently create characters that I care about, and the DM masterfully gides the players through his world while maintaining a natural flow to the story. Thank you DND Raw for providing a consistently high quality podcast.

    Such a unique idea
Can’t wait for more! Love the synergy with this group. Great visual storytelling. Tons of fun. A must listen!

    A well crafted experience
This podcast has a nice interjection of music and effects which make for a very pleasant listening experience. There is obviously a great deal of depth in the world building and honestly in nearly every detail. There is also a tremendous amount of effort put into character development, and everyone at the table clearly enjoys role playing. The dialog is so crisp, it almost sounds scripted. All in all, I think anyone who's into D&D actual play podcasts should give this one a shot.

    Keep 'em Coming!
I jumped in at Orinthal #1 and imediately went back and listened to the background episodes to learn even more about the great story! I love the way the cast work with eachother and how full the world is and how well everyone interacts with it. Adding in a few special Unearth Arcana items really helps some of these classes stand out from other D&D podcasts.

    Well Worth a Listen
If you’re doing a podcast in 2018, you’re entering a crowded field. If you’re doing a D&D actual play, you’ve set course for the heart of the storm. These folks though, navigate the waters to produce a perfect combination of player fun and great story. They throw in some background music and effects, but keep the focus on the players pretty well. Speaking of the players, they’re getting into their characters and doing it using quality equipment. These folks are a credit to the genre and Rules as Written deserves to be on anyone’s short list for awesome D&D actual play goodness.

    It’s quite rare..
It’s quite rare these days when someone can put together something that flows so smooth that you, as a listener, can forget how much work must go into this. The DM is a very good storyteller. He doesn’t railroad or force the character to do anything. He turns them loose and allows the players to explore their characters. Good job!
  • legendofgreyson
    A solid actual play
I'll have to catch up before I can say more, but this is a solid cast that has interesting characters and dynamics, and good audio quality for the most part. I look forward to seeing where the story goes.
  • JaggedSun
    Excellent
The cast is charming, the sound quality is better than most actual plays, and the DM does a fantastic job with world building and really bringing the environment to life for the listener. An excellent show that I would highly recommend to any of my actual play listening friends!

    Rock and Roll
My only real play podcast I’ll listen to other than Revival. These guys know when to listen and when to joke around.

    not bad!
This group is a delight to listen to and I adore Sarya. This group meshes really well and it's obvious that the world is really fleshed out. There are a bunch of episodes detailing lore and talks with the DM/players. The DM is also really good at making sure the rules don't overshadow the characters and encourage fun between players. As a word of warning, during the first few episodes, one of the players has really bad audio but it's honestly not awful. Very much worth a listen!

    Important
Your show is great. I love your interpretation of the rules combined with a campaign, and its all great. Now the important thing. The link for the image of Whistle Click Click does not work anymore!!! Ok good job and thank you for making a good podcast. Also we rolled my brother’s barbarian stats and he has a 19 strength and a 6 intelligence and wisdom, so he is a literal idiot.
  • Frycurious
    Nice
I had a lot of fun listening to the banter and mediation between all the characters as they interact with each other. The editing is smooth, keeping in mostly the plot and some key jokes. I had a lot of fun listening to them and accidentally listened to several episodes in a row because I was thoroughly entertained. Knitting stockinette stitch boredom is now a thing of the past, at least until I run out of episodes.

    Going Strong
The lore can be a bit dense if you come into the story cold, especially when you're hit by a wall of exposition right at the beginning of the episode. The show's production is top notch and there's a strong focus on telling a good story with good storytellers telling it. There's an impressive dedication to having them play as characters more than actors or players. I'm always a sucker for when Tabletop games step back from the game and focus on role play, worldbuilding, lore, and storytelling. The side episodes where they go into talking about the game and how people play it is also a fun delve into the community and how the game is played.

The Party you want to be at
The players and GM are great here in the episodes I listened to introducing the world and their very defined fantasy characters. I really enjoyed their use of descriptions and setting to get me into the DnD world. I think where this Podcast’s strength lie is in setting up an audio scape where you can listen in at their table and here them play their games. It reminded me well of Sneak Attack and that’s a huge compliment. In a market of a lot of different dnd actual plays this one stands out.

The Best Mix of Game and Advice
As a fellow game master, it should come as no surprise that I found the various episodes of DnD Raw that work as rountable discussions about the various topics that come up during play, to be one of the most sincere and helpful pieces of the whole. Mainly, this excellent Actual Play of D&D shows us the tale of a group of people recruited to deal with various troubles. The different backgrounds of the characters are interesting, but as my opening statement mentioned; the fact that the players and gm later sit down to talk about it, only makes it more interesting. Overall, this is a solid production, and one I would readily recomend as well.

    Collaborative Storytelling at its Finest
I’ve been listening to at least one episode everyday for the last two weeks. Whether you’re new or seasoned you can learn a lot about 5E D&D from their Rules as Written episodes (Powergaming and Metagaming being two of my favorite). The actual play episodes are fantastic. Tony does a great a job of creating visualizations of the world, characters, and actions. The players and their cast of characters are a blast to listen to. You can’t help but become emotionally vested in the trials in which they face (cue hyperventilation). I’ve found myself laughing out loud, yelling in disbelief and frustration, and getting a little teary eyed at times. Not only are the characters PCs memorable but the cast of NPCs as well. The level of mystery and suspense wouldn’t be strong without them. And of course there are some who provide those needed moment of brevity. The world in which Orinthal resides is unique yet familiar with a rich history that is slowly revealed at a steady pace. I look forward to learning more about 5E and listening to the intricate tale that has been weaved.

    A Good Listen
The players and DM have great energy and interaction. They had strong personalities which helps the listener know who is who. A lot of thought has been put into the background of this story and the characters. Audio quality is good - any issues they had were acknowledged as exceptions rather than their norm.

    Charming D&D podcast
It has been a genuine pleasure to listen to the RaW crew. The group has excellent chemistry and the DM does an excellent job narrating and describing the scene at hand. Not only do the cast members have a good grasp on the rules, but they all do an amazing job roleplaying and adding depth to the campaign. Very charming, would 100% recommend to a friend.

    Awesome gem!!
First off, and not to repeat what is said in the other reviews, but there is seriously an awesome chemistry between these folks and it is awesome. I just got done listening to their podcast where they discussed the dreaded meta-gaming and it was so refreshing yet very educational to listen to. I liked the seriousness their DM gave the subject, but you could tell they genuinely enjoyed talking about it. Another strong aspect of the show was they used examples of games they played in together but they did it in a way to where it was easy for someone like me to get what they were saying. Meaning I didn’t feel like an outsider at all. Audio quality was good, and to be honest their voices sounded like a NPR show that teaches me something, which is something good. The only thing I could think of which would even make the show stronger was an intro of sorts. I look forward to now moving on to their actual plays. This was a pleasant gem to fall upon….let’s hope this they they mention who knows no boundaries steals my gem…or would that be meta-gaming if I mention it? ;)

    So Much Fun!
The party has great chemistry, and unlike other actual play podcasts, they're not over-the-top goofy for the sake of trying to entertain the audience. Definitely my personal favorite DND 5E Actual Play!
