    A gem of a podcast!
I recently decided to refresh my knowledge of the Disney parks, having a lifelong interest and fascination with Walt Disney and his work. Having visited Disneyland once in the late 70s and Disney World and EPCOT center a year EPCOT opened. It has continued a source of fascination. This podcast is everything I was looking for. Just the right depth, it is immaculately researched, and very entertaining. I have gone back to episode one and I’m working my way through in order. I am planning to return to Disney World next year, knowing that there are a lot of changes since I was last there, some of which may be disappointing to me, especially at EPCOT. Still, for the work and dedication you put into this podcast. It really shows!

    Too far
Listener since the beginning. Love all things The Dis. Have cringed at Michael’s racism in the past, but stupidly forgave him due to him being older. But this last episode on little mermaid was too much. Can’t support this man and his racist comments. I’m sure it’s ignorant racism, but racism all the same.

Time to Come Into the Modern Era
I like this show but can only stomach Michael excusing bad behavior on account of “his age” so many times. Being old doesn’t make racism or anything else bigoted okay. I’m finally leaving feedback on this show based on Michael’s disgusting excusal of racist anti-Asian caricatures in the Lady and the Tramp. Michael conflates the name of “Siamese cat” with the disgusting portrayal of cats as menacing and displaying a caricature of “Asian” features. The icing on the cake is the racist apologies and revolting dismissals of those calling out the bigoted depiction during Asian American and Pacifican Islander Heritage month. Does anyone listen to Michael's diatribes before they are published? I do appreciate the level of research so will probably give this show 1 or 2 more episodes for the NECESSARY apology before I unsubscribe for good.

    My favorite Disney podcast
I listen regularly to 6-7 Disney podcasts and this one is my favorite. I have listened to every episode. The chemistry between Michael and Craig is great. Michael does a great job researching great stories of Walt and his magical company. Keep up the great work!!

    Impressive Debut/Audition
I’m a longtime listener to “Connecting With Walt”. I have enjoyed the history and background that Michael and Craig have brought to life. That said, based on the last installment of the podcast I STRONGLY believe that Big Fat Panda would be a significant upgrade to the show. John blew my wife and I away in his debut episode…he’s a natural! I have no doubt that Craig is valuable to CWW in ways I’m not aware of but the eloquence Panda brings to the show is something that Craig either can’t do or hasn’t done yet. Sometimes Craig seems annoyed or put upon to be there. I’m sure it’s not the case but that’s what it sounds like. Panda sounds like there’s no place he’d rather be. That affect is contagious…or so it seems to me.

    Disneyland show
Love that this is back but you need to work on the volumes. Some come on very loud and screaming. Also they need to be on mute and not multi tasking. Can hear household chores going on on the background and it is very distracting and noisy. Lots of running water.

    Echo?
Did you guys get rid of your mics and start recording on your iPhones? There is an echo that has made it impossible to listen to the last handful of episodes

    A Walkthrough of Disney History
Michael and Craig are a great team that are so interesting to listen to their perspectives. I appreciate them sharing the facts and having actual people associated with Disney throughout history on the show. For the episodes with a guest, I especially love Jim Korkis and all of his stories! I appreciate him only sharing stories that have been vetted by multiple sources.

    Something old, something new
Connecting with Walt is a must listen for Disney fans. Former Mouseketeer Michael and The Busiest Man in Disney podcasting, Craig, pepper in personal anecdotes as they discuss current and past happenings across the entire Disney empire. Their love of Disney doesn’t cloud their judgement when missteps are made as seen with many über fan podcasts. They might cover The Making of Bambi one week then Pros and Cons of Genie + the next. Topics are vast as is their knowledge. I came to this podcast through Craig as I follow many of his podcasts on The Dis however Michael quickly won me over with his precise research and equally precise wit…he lands some zingers. These two put on a great show.

    My go to Disneyland podcast!
Just a fun all around podcast for Disneyland current events and more importantly, Disneyland history, as viewed through the lens of two former frontline cast members! Keep up the great work Ken and Lynn! Glad to be a Patreon sub!

I have never read the “ classics” because frankly I find them to difficult to read! However, after listening to this show, I was inspired to try again and decided on an audiobook. I am really enjoying it! Thank you both for all of your time and effort, you do a great job and I really enjoy the show!

    Craig
Craig even can’t ruin this great show, maybe I was wrong. Craig is a complete dope, he was so off base with the red panda movie.
  • Palmacho
Such a treat to listen to
I appreciate the kindness of Michael and the information he brings about Walt Disney world. When I think Craig is maybe 100% sick of disney, I listen to this podcast and understand how much he loves Disney- and why he can get so sour in recent developments in the corporation. Regardless, I love this podcast. It’s a balm to my soul.

    Positive vs Negative Works Well
Excellent show, mainly about Walt Disney, with one overly positive host and one overly negative host that seems to work well together. I’m guessing a lot is sarcastic- no Disney fan is THAT negative all of the time! 🤪

    I Feel Like I’m There
I’ve been a listener since day 1 so this review is long overdue. I’m leaving this review because the Destination D23 shows are amazing. I’d rather hear your recap than be there in person. Keep up the stellar work and thank you!

    Simply Wonderful
This is a must. Michael & Craig are an amazing team. Michael is a true story teller not unlike the amazing late Walter Elias Disney. Michael has me chuckling, laughing out loud and even crying. Michael does his research & brings the Disney Brothers stories to life. He brings the important History of people we know, people we do not know & people we should know. Craig brings a different & needed approach. His knowledge is so impressive for someone so young. They truly are a spectacular duo teaching us all about another spectacular duo Walt & Roy. A listener will be captivated and wins with a ton of knowledge. Thank you both as well as the DIS for sponsoring such a dynamic show. Side note, When Michael interviews guests, he again does his research & asks questions I want to know as well as ones I didn’t know that I wanted to know. This show is a gift I am grateful for. Thank You

    Escapism, history and fun!
When I want a break from the snark and cynicism of current events (not to mention other Disney based podcasts), Connecting with Walt is my go-to every time. Michael is the definition of sophisticated, charming and informative, while Craig provides a dry, clever whit that equals a perfect balance between these two friends. Their love of Disney history and ability to keep things light, fun and politics free (a big ask these days) means Connecting with Walt will always be at the top of my podcast list.

    Michael is a treasure
For true Disney history fans, this is a must listen-to. Michael’s breadth of knowledge and dedication to research is unparalleled. I take away something new from every episode. It’s also my go-to favorite podcast for long drives because Michael is the best storyteller and the time just flies by.
  • Mamaconway
    Where did you learn that?
I’m always telling my loved ones little bits of information and the first thing they ask, where’d you learn that?! From Michael and Craig! Very informative podcast. Lots of fun. If you love Walt And Roy Disney, this podcast is for you!

    A must listen
This podcast is a must listen for anyone even remotely interested in the history of all things Disney. Don’t be scared off by the running time, these shows fly by thanks to Michael’s ability to explain without talking down to the listener and Craig’s the perfect cohost. Let’s Michael do his thing, interjecting when appropriate. These two have impeccable timing. So glad they are back.

    Wonderful
I stumbled upon Connecting during the History of Donald Duck series and have since gone back and listened to every episode. Michael and Craig are wonderful tour guides as we visit attractions of yesteryear and dive into the history of the company built by Walt and his brother Roy. Welcome back!!

    Negative Craigative
Michael Bowling is always upbeat and you can hear his smile when he speaks. Meanwhile in stark contrast, curmudgeonly co-host Craig Williams seems to be negative much of the time. In addition, while the information is always interesting, I wish it was delivered in a way that didn’t sound like it was being read from a transcript. It’s a little dry. I find it to be much more entertaining when Michael, Craig and the occasional guest are just chatting about Disney (until Craigative says something negative). Overall it’s a pretty good show. But it could be better. More organic, natural discussion. Accentuate the positive. Eliminate the negative.

    Glad your back
I didn’t realize how much I was missing this podcast until the announcement it was coming back. Hearing the theme song and Michael’s voice got me really excited this podcast is coming back. I miss Michael’s positivity and excitement for the history of all things Disney. And you can’t forget Craig who always seems to say exactly what I’m thinking. This podcast is one of the highlights of my week!

    The teachers and the students.
I’ve been listening since Michael would create history segments on the Disneyland DisUnplugged podcast, and got so excited when Connecting with Walt grew out of it. Craig and Michael have great chemistry together and their knowledge about everything Disney related with facts, history, and trivia keeps me coming back to this class. Thank you for this podcast.
