k!k!m@suJonathan GlazerFascinating interview! Understanding Glazer’s view is critical when watching this movie. Upends the whole holocaust trope.

pjmouerExcellent podcast, terrible soundThese interviews are thoughtful and inspiring but you guys have a serious problem with your audio normalizing. The ads will blast my ears out and then the interviews will be so quiet I can’t hear it. And between host and interviewees there will often be large discrepancies as well. I understand their audio is likely coming from different sources but it can be leveled it out. There’s just no excuse for it to be this bad in the year of our lord 2023–good audio can be had cheaply and easily. And people have been pointed this out for years. Hope it gets fixed because it deters me from listening often.

Shaking with laughterAmazing show! Love the production talk. This sparked my love for filmmaking. Thank you for being one of the only shows I can find that actually talks about production, and thank you for letting me hear about the insights from the greatest filmmakers out there. I am indebted to this podcast. The greta gerwig and guillermo del toro episodes made me fall in love with moviemaking. Thank you so much for making this podcast!!

Matt52083Wonderful - but one issueLove the podcast and the thoughtful interview questions and the breadth of filmmakers featured. The sound mix - specifically the host’s mic - is absolutely awful. It’s extremely hard to hear and follow questions on occasion.

silvershipsGreat interviews, with some minor drawbacksThis podcast is a fantastic way to hear some of the most exciting filmmakers out there discuss their process in a practical nuts-and-bolts approach that doesn’t get bogged down with armchair analysis. I know I don’t need to hear another film critic sound off with their review of a new film (what credentials do you actually need to become a film critic these days?) but I DO need to hear the filmmakers themselves, which is why I love this podcast. The host asks thoughtful and informed questions most of the time and seems to have a healthy knowledge of what it takes to make a film, but can be prone to spending a little too much time on his own opinions (again, let’s just hear from the filmmakers). Lastly, the recording quality is not great. For a filmmaking podcast you think they could get a decent sound person or at least a good podcasting setup. Despite these drawbacks, it is still one of the better filmmaking pods I’ve found out there.
