Of all the very good podcasts interviewing artist photographers this series has the most varied content on the creative elements involved in producing photographic works. Let’s put it this way, it’s the only photo podcast the benefits from relistening. Highly recommended.

My favorite of all the photography focused podcasts out there. I love the selection of guests, ranging from some of my favorite artists to folks I’m learning about for the first time. Jordan is both researched and a great listener and it makes for fascinating conversation.

Great work, but the audio recording and mixing makes it quite hard to listen to, which is a shame.

The best podcast on photography, with insight into the workings of artists that are making great work. Weitzman’s interview style is casual and always leads down interesting paths. His genuine love for photography and interest in his subjects shines through in every episode. I wish more interviewers would take notes from him. He lets the subjects talk and never makes it about himself. Thank you Jordan!

Jordan Weirzman’s interviews on TGH are exceptionally well informed, incisive, and, yes, fun — essential listening for all lovers of photography and the visual arts more broadly. Weitzman’s and his guests’ frequent consideration of questions of sexuality, queerness, and trans/gender identity as these relate to both popular and fine art photography distinguishes these podcasts; it’s an emphasis sorely needed and greatly appreciated. Bravo.

So glad this podcast exists. It fills a much needed void within the photography landscape.

Magic Hour is the best. I love the eclectic selection of guests, every episode is surprising and worth multiple listens. I wish each episode would last forever.

I would give it five stars except they have taken advertising from a photo workshop that many people (myself included) view as predatory. Ads aren't inherently bad. I understand that they support our free podcasts. But someone like Jordan, with his high level of taste, does a disservice to listeners by choosing sketchy ad partners.

As a photographer I often feel isolated by my creative process; Magic Hour provides an antidote to the loneliness by supplying listeners with a collection of in-depth, otherworldly interviews. I’ve never written a review before, but after months of listening, I felt compelled to dote on this series.

Hands-down one of the best photography podcasts -- deep insight and thoughtful conversations with great photographers every episode.

Jordan Weitzman's interview with one of photography's greats, Danny Lyon is one of my favorite podcast interviews ever! Jordan asks intelligent questions that don't feel like they are strictly scripted, but are based on things his subject says. He's great at picking up on the direction his subject is heading.

I love this podcast. Jordan's interviews with accomplished photographers has opened my eyes to a whole world of artful photography that I was never able to grasp before. A treasure for anyone interested in photography.

This is a really good podcast on photography. It’s much better than any other podcast relating to the field. Jordan is able to interview very effectively and can steer the conversation condensing the ideas. Wish there was more diverse photographers interviewed however. It’s real frustrating that non white, specifically black women are left out of this dialogue.

Always interesting, often helpful and inspiring. I've loved all of these, but the interview with Rosalind Fox Solomon was especially wonderful

This show consistently hits the sweet spot of a good podcast conversation, managing to be both casual and intellectual, winding and incisive. Jordan knows his stuff, but reveals his knowledge organically and productively, not pretentiously. He elicits candid responses from his guests, and it’s interesting to hear different photographers offer unique views on the same topics. I like that the show focuses more on process, personal history, and experience, rather than gear or technical details. This is a podcast that’s thoughtful and engaging (and punctuated with humor!)

Thoughtful questions, insightful answers, and a window into the artists creative working. Great podcast, please keep it coming.

Love this podcast. Cerebral interviews from photographers who have such distinct and thought provoking perspectives. Makes me inspired to go out and shoot every time I listen.

I just finished binge-listening to all of the episodes & they're great. The podcast is such an awesome medium in which to talk about photography & Weitzman does a great job with keeping the conversations interesting and engaging.

Weitzman is an excellent interviewer who has spent the first several epsiodes visiting with great artists who are making interesting work. Insightful and engaging talks that are a pleasure to listen to. Clean production and a host with a nice voice to boot. Well done.
