Each podcast episode includes an everyday life situation that they discuss in light of God’s kingdom being a real thing we can experience here on earth. I also LOVE how they combine theology, spiritual formation “lessons” and practices, and psychology to teach & inspire me towards authenticity in Christ. If true discipleship can happen through podcast conversations- that’s exactly what happens on every episode.

My wife and I have been in pastoral ministry for twenty five years. When I came to The Soul Shepherding institute three years ago, I was depressed and at the end of my ministry rope ready to quit. Bill & Kristi Gaultiere teach how to live in Kingdom of God with your whole self -- spirit, soul, and body. They are vulnerable in their discussions as spouses and soul friends and model how to navigate the emotional life with empathy toward self and others. I am interested in spiritual formation and all the wonderful tools that can assist in drawing me into intimacy with Jesus and their website has a treasure trove articles and guides for those in ministry roles but also any Christian no matter their life season. Breathe prayers, lectio divina, using imagination, stations of the cross, retreats, practicing Sabbath--they cover it all. Their podcast is companion as I walk. The Gaultiers challenge me but in a compassionate way because it's easy for me to look at how far I am from the ideal and be overwhelmed and go to shame. They know that and always frame any discussion in compassion. They share that we start where we're at and can process through those feelings and venture on God. After all it's His work. All these tools facilitate the journey. The mix of Christian ministry and psychology that the Gaultiers bring is so valuable. As I have navigated many life changes in recent years including loss of loved ones, moves, career change, etc., they have given me language and tools for my emotional life. Thank you Bill and Kristi for your gifts to us! May the Lord continue to bless you and keep you in this work.

Recently finished reading Willard’s RENOVATION OF THE HEART, so it was prime this week to hear some of Gaultiere’s personal experiences and reflections on his mentoring. Great to benefit, though indirectly, from Dallas thru this podcast.

I first learned about this podcast on the Things Above podcast with James Brian Smith when I heard Bill interviewed about handling the pandemic crisis. Bill and Kristi are nourishing my spirit at a time when my spiritual cup needs filling! I am so grateful. I especially love the episode on Dallas Willard’s spiritual disciplines!

I enjoy listening each week as they share the rawness of what many of us are experiencing right now and I take comfort in that. I’ve found great encouragement in acknowledging the sorrow of what we’re experiencing and the loss of living so isolated, so I appreciate the honest dialogue here. We do need to fix our eyes on Christ to have hope to move forward but we can’t ignore the lamenting process that is taking place. This podcast is helping me greatly and it’s something o recommend to others.

I love listening to Bill and Kristi. After having experienced their wisdom, knowledge and gifts first hand in their Soul Care retreat. I hear God ministering to me through them. Very helpful fun loving, honest, vulnerable, authentic sharing with Bill and Bobby, I experienced discovery of myself as an 8 wing for a 7 on the ennegram. For example, Bobby has trouble withindecision, so do I. I didn't realize this goes with my 8 wing. I recommend for everyone, easily understandable for those new to enneagram as well as the well informed.
