Medicine, We're Still Practicing

16

Hosted by Bill Curtis and quadruple board certified Dr. Steven Taback, Medicine, We’re Still Practicing sits down with doctors from the world’s most preeminent hospitals for insights into their research, practice, and education. The first in this dedicated series is Johns Hopkins Medicine, with the goal of not only to share the magnificent work being done by these hospitals and doctors, but for them to be able to use it as a high-quality educational tool and platform to share insights and research to a large, receptive audience. Medicine, We’re Still Practicing is a thoroughly informative and realistic podcast that speaks not only to the layman medical audience, but appeals to the medical community as well.

No topic is off limits, from the insurance industry and universal healthcare to the latest medical advances and all of the quackery and snake oil salesmen you should avoid. However, in accordance with good bedside manner, Dr. Taback and his guests from the medical community keep the conversation light and informative. An important listen during these times of medical uncertainty and differed opinions.

A new take on medicine show
I like that this show is hosted by a doctor, interviewing doctors. The infectious disease episode is really interesting and makes me think about what we would do if we had another epidemic and hope we have more people like Dr Donovan to help us.

    Dr Donovan is amazing!
What bravery of Dr Donovan! I can't imagine going into an Ebola stricken country to save the doctors, who only got infected because they were trying to save people. Just WOW! What an inspiring episode.

    Balls!
It’s so refreshing to hear someone in the profession speaking honestly about what we go through with our health insurance. Turns out that the docs are no happier with the rationing going on orchestrated by our insurance companies by just making things impossible for anyone that could cost them money. They really don’t have our best health interest at heart. When the politicians talk about healthcare insurance for all, through a Medicare like system, they clearly don’t really know the kind of care we will get.

Interesting podcast about the state of healthcare
Loved listening to this podcast!! Dr, Peter Grossman is one of the premiere burn specialists in the World. He’s also respected in the esthetic cosmetic surgery world. Interesting to hear how the two different practices differ. It’s worth your time, given the current climate of affordable healthcare, health insurance and expense of quality health care.
