ian879571What’s with Snail?Snail is a decent hockey analyst and normally seems like a good guy, but he should apologize for and retract his absurd and uncalled for comments about hatred for people from the South and how people in warm climates don’t deserve hockey. I am not even from the South but found these comments quite offensive. Look how successful hockey has been in several warm climate cities (ex- Tampa, Carolina, Dallas, DC, Anaheim, LA). Many kids became hockey fans or players because of these teams. Just because I don’t agree on everything with people from the West Coast, South, Midwest, etc., doesn’t mean I hate people from these regions. Moreover, not everyone in the South is a Confederate flag-waving racist. People who continue to believe and perpetuate this stereotype are part of the problem in this country and are ironically just as poorly educated as the mostly imaginary people they claim to detest. Otherwise, the hockey commentary has improved lately on this show, but largely due to two very dedicated listeners who submit nearly all the questions. I think there should be a way besides twitter to submit questions.

JoshLyman2020Not preparedListened faithfully since the inception of the podcast, but question whether I will continue after listening to Frank M. through the first two episodes this season. Gave him a pass for nerves on the first episode, but he was a train wreck in the second episode. Frank mumbled slowly in his monotone voice sounding bored and slightly intoxicated. Worse, though, was how unprepared he was and how little he knew about the games and players he was discussing. He couldn’t even remember who was on the team! I didn’t have a problem with his brutal honesty about the team’s poor start this year (including Malkin) and found it somewhat refreshing. The final straw, though, was Frank’s disingenuous opinion ripping Malkin’s play since 2015 when Kessel arrived. Frank said Malkin had been struggling since Kessel’s arrival (I believe he said Malkin was disinterested or lacking commitment). Did Frank even watch Malkin the last 5 seasons? He appeared to miss two Stanley Cups, a 98 point season, Malkin scoring over a point a game every year during that span and 74 pts. in 55 games (a 110 pt. pace for 82 games) last year. Garrett rightfully jumped in to disagree, but I question how you can put a guy on a podcast about the Pens who doesn’t know anything about the team or the players?
