I’ve been a long time listener and missed the show during its long COVID-induced hiatus. As a Spanish-American, this is a great and easily accessible way to keep up with current events in Spain. Simon and Melissa are engaging and fun while providing some context to events for those of us listening from afar.

As an American who loves all things Spain, I am so thankful for this podcast. There are many confusing areas of Spain to me - from the recent violence in Catalonia, to the politics in Spain - this podcast has helped me gain a better understanding of the country I love to visit.

Spain, from the outside, inside. This podcast gives you an unprecedented outside view from someone living in the country. Without all the history (baggage?) many Spanish people view things, this podcast steps back and explain things many spanish dont think a lot about, like why things are the way they are and what it means. This podcast makes things easier to understand at face value. It will explain this many Spanish take for granted or don’t think a lot about but just accept. WHILE also explaining the background. Knowledgeable and informative, funny, unpretentious and serious at the same time.

Very well-done coverage of current political and social issues. Especially good in explaining the fluid positions and dysfunction of the main political parties. Presenters are excellent. Thanks, El País, for sponsoring the podcast.

A context clues are key to learning by immersion. Que? provides great context clues. RE: long intro - I get it: young podcast, they have to get the PR out up front. If we help them get the word out, they can focus on growth. Until, just hit the 30 second skip!

I appreciate that this podcast exists as a service of El País and have shared it with friends. It can be a bit editorial, which is fine, as it gives some color and texture to the conversations. I wish it was more frequent so that it could cover a wider breadth of substance.

But they spent the first 5 minutes of a 20 minute show reading positive reviews of their show. I lost interest.
