    Pet Cemetery
OCT 17 A Final Resting Spot for Furry Friends Burying the dead. I love that Rob from the Presidio Trust says people shouldn’t be burying g their pets because of lead in the soil from the paint of old structures. Yeah, so is my garden, almost the whole darn city must be. Anyway, I LOVE this story and your whole podcast.

    No more “like”
I love this podcast, thank you so much for doing it. I have learned so many random pieces of information about the Bay Area and you truly help me understand the place that I have called how me for 40+ years. However, my one star review is for your podcast on Prop 4. The guy you had on kept saying like. There’s no way a respectable journalist who is on a podcast such as Bay Curious this should say like. At a minimum, if you can’t find someone who is more well spoken, at least edit that out. Or, ideally, find someone who knows how to speak without using like when presenting themselves as a professional. Listening to that podcast reminded me of the pain of hearing a middle school or highs schooler speak. So far below the high-quality journalism that I have come to love and expect from your show

    Typical KQED Left-Wing Bias
The Prop-fest series is exceptionally bad. I’m listening to them compare convicted inmates working to pay restitution for their crimes to slavery. No mention of the fact that spending time making themselves useful is better for the men in question than spending the time rotting in their cells. This group should stick to the fun, low stakes stories which are a decent listen. Vote no on most of these.

    Long Time Listener
I’m a native San Franciscan that has been outside the Bay Area for way too long. I’ve been listening to Bay Curious since shortly after it started and love every episode. It helps me feel like I’m still connected to the Bay Area of my youth. Thanks so much to the entire team for their dedicated and superb efforts!!

    Come satiate your curiosity!
Bay Curious answers the most wacky, inspiring, and heartfelt questions about the Bay Area! Their most recent episode about Brotherhood way talks about the origins of Brotherhood Way — why and how the religious institutions came to be. If you ever pondered about why something exists in the Bay Area, you’d be happily surprised that Bay Curious covered it. If they haven’t, the BC team typically responds to emails from listeners and really is attuned to what the community is interested in — so make sure you share your questions! There are countless amazing episodes about nature, history, art and Bay Area figures — there’s probably something for everyone. This is my FAVORITE podcast for the past few years and I hope it will become yours too!

    There’s no place like home..
I’ve been a listener for a few years now and absolutely love the podcast. I grew up in the Bay Area and enjoy learning about the region’s secrets and mysteries, and enchanting stories from community members that really make listening worthwhile. Excellent reporting from the entire team, whose work really makes me feel nostalgia for the Bay Area while being miles away from home.

    Great podcast
Love the show and the content. However, I find Rachael Myrow’s narration to be over-acted. Her natural speaking voice sounds just fine, but the narration feels stilted.

    Light, fun, quirky
Where I go when I want things that are both interesting and Light, fun, quirky. Maybe it’s obscure history about well known places or people. Maybe current info on what makes the Bay Area unique. ( Bay Curious please, light, fun, quirky goes here, hard news, even on elections, goes elsewhere like the wonderful news podcast The Bay )

    Need better fact-check
As a long-time listener, I have enjoyed most episodes, learning much Bay Area history along the way. What got me upset is the latest episode about internment camp in Pacifica when I heard it says “Japan invaded China in late 1930’s with the help of Soviet Union”. I was so shocked that I had to roll back to listen again to verify I heard it right. This is factually wrong; Soviet Union was the main source of external help China could get in its resistance against Japanese invasion until Pearl Harbor when USA declared war against Japan, and became ally with China. Not sure if there was a correction, but this careless flip of history from a major media broadcasted over air and internet is just bad.

    Staying Connected
We moved away from the Bay Area a few years ago. I love being able to listen to Bay Curious to still feel a little connected to the Bay Area. The episodes range from fun, heartwarming, and thought provoking. Also the best part, the episodes are in good bite sized bits of 15-20 minutes.

    Fun facts about Bay life
The team who works on this podcast does a great job on connecting to the listeners and finding answers to their questions. It’s not like investigative reporting, more like fun facts; just the right amount of info to set you up for a deep dive, if you wish.

    Great Bay Area Coverage
This is a daily must-listen for me. It’s a great way to stay connected with what’s going on in the Bay Area. The reporting is thoughtful and in-depth. It’s really opened my eyes to some inspiring local perspectives.

Essential listening for anyone who lives in (and loves) the Bay Area
Whether you are a native or a newcomer, the Bay Area is so big and diverse — with people, history, geography, wildlife, and more. You have no doubt had questions, some big and some some small. This show answers all the questions. Both entertaining and informative. The bite-sized shows are mentally tasty and nutritious! Each episode is a little cupcake of knowledge.

I just started listening when you guys released the two week serious about the CA Propositions. So informative!! Now I’m listening to the two-part Donner Party series, and I’m so engrossed. I sat in my car in the driveway to listen to the end of the first episode.

    Great CA prop information
Thank you for the great information with interviews from experts on the props. I don’t know anything about property taxes or dialysis! So it was great to hear from people who have been closely following them

I really love this podcast- recently discovered it and been bingeing. Even more so, I appreciate the prop-fest, a factual and thoughtful way to discuss the convoluted props and issues. Thanks for making this pod!

    Entertaining and informative
I sometimes wonder how NPR keeps dishing out incredibly high quality work so consistently. This podcast is well produced and informative- geared towards SF Bay Area of course. Quite helpful and practical info. For eg the recent episodes on California propositions was the basis of my voting in 2020. Thank you, KQED team. Excellent work!

So disappointed with biased Prop Fest…go to KQED Forum instead
I love listening to Bay Curious to learn all sorts of fun quirky history about the area, and I was excited when I heard that they were going to be covering the California propositions. And then I actually listened to the episodes…and I was so disappointed. My biggest qualm is that they only dig into one side of the argument and kinda present that as the only side. Technically, they recap at the end what voting “Yes” and “No” mean, but the presentation of the arguments sometimes only consist of one person’s anecdotes, or one person’s perspective on the argument, rather than giving both sides a fair chance. If they had been transparent about the fact that they were only presenting one side, that would be fine with me, but the fact that they advertising presenting both, and then don’t frustrated the living hell out of me. I love listening to the show. But I might have to unsubscribe. At least until the elections are over. For a more balanced, in-depth presentation of both sides of the argument, I highly recommend listening to KQED forum instead.

    Well Done & Highly Relevant
Glad I found this podcast. Gives pro & con arguments being made and who is supporting & against. Done in a way to keep it engaging.

    Prop fest was awesome!
Thank you so much for doing the prop fest. I’m always confused about props. They explained both sides and provided funding information for those for and against the props. Such valuable info!

Learn about the Bay and be an active Bay Area citizen!
I already loved learning about the Bay but then I got to made informed decisions about 2020 politics thanks to them. PropFest forever!!

    Thank god for Prop Fest
First of all, KQED has tons of excellent programming and Bay Curious has always been a fascinating and fun show. But Prop Fest brought unparalleled utility. Comprehensive reporting and thoughtful explanation made this year’s propositions — and the forces behind them — easy to understand. I’m so grateful for Bay Curious making my voter education fun and efficient. I didn’t try bringing my info pamphlet into the shower with me, but I doubt it would have worked as well as this podcast.

    Concise and useful
Concise, unbiased and very useful information on propositions that are on ballot in California. Thank you for your efforts to inform the voters!
